Chapter 613: Chapter 607: Bodhi Enlightenment
“I said so much, but it seems you haven’t remembered a single word,” Tracy Harvey said, her fingers intertwined, her gaze deep as she looked at David Jones.
“The path of an Ice-Fire Overlord is long and fraught with dead ends; even Dr. Lee, after spending hundreds of years, has not achieved success. Are you sure you want to waste your energy on this wild goose chase of research?”
Seeing David Jones’s resolute expression, and not a hint of hesitation on his face, Tracy Harvey continued to speak.
“Even if the legendary power of destruction truly exists, and could give an Overlord the strength to rival an Emperor, the strongest Overlord True Dragon is still just an Overlord. With your potential, you could definitely contract an Emperor True Dragon under the nurture of the Trainer Guild. That is the smooth road to legend!”
David Jones shrugged his shoulders, “I just want to try out the possibility of evolving into an Ice-fire Dragon. If it fails, I won’t be stubborn about it.”
Tracy Harvey did not try to dissuade him any further, even though she could already imagine her sister’s rage upon learning that David Jones had embarked on this point of no return.
From a logical standpoint, she had no right to make David Jones give up his unrealistic ideas.
Moreover, emotionally, as a playful researcher herself, Tracy Harvey was also very eager to see if David Jones could indeed create a miracle.
So she smiled slightly and said, “Due to his approaching life’s end, Dr. Lee has been in closed-door seclusion for five years now, so I can’t help you get in touch with him.”
After speaking, seeing a hint of disappointment in David Jones’s eyes, Tracy Harvey smiled again.
“The Ice-fire Dragon project was Dr. Lee’s passion. Even I was once invited to collaborate on researching the evolutionary path of the Destruction Tyrant Dragon, so I have quite a few top-secret evolutionary data regarding the Destruction Tyrant Dragon.”
David Jones didn’t speak, instead just quietly watching Tracy Harvey play coy.
Seeing David Jones not taking the bait, Tracy Harvey continued to explain.
“The evolutionary data of the Destruction Tyrant Dragon is divided into three levels. I can give you the first level, the Ice-Fire Zone data. The second level, the Destruction Zone, and the third level, the Dragon Body, are top secret. Unless you become a research doctoral or get permission from the Guild’s higher-ups, I’m not authorized to give you that information.”
No sooner had she finished speaking than Tracy Harvey produced a silver mechanical ring.
“This is the latest domestic nano Arcane Gold mobile phone, equipped with a highly secure safety system that can block all known Mechinery Pet monitoring. It also contains the complete data for the Ice-Fire Zone.”
“Additionally, Dr. Lee created a doctoral exchange group specifically for researching Ice-fire Dragon evolution. Would you like to join?” Tracy Harvey asked softly.
“I would, but I know nothing about research,” David Jones admitted.
Tracy Harvey thrust out her meager chest, a confident smile on her face, and said, “Your Miss Tracy has some clout in the research community. If you have any questions, you can ask directly in the exchange group.”
“Then I must trouble Miss Tracy,” David Jones said.
David Jones didn’t refuse this generous offer and wore the silver ring to operate it.
[Deep Poverty Thought Aid Institute]
David Jones was somewhat surprised by the group name, and his mental image of research doctors instantly shattered.
He checked the group messages; aside from himself, there were only eleven members in the aid group. However, the atmosphere in the group was not as staid as he had imagined.
At that moment, the ring began to vibrate, and Tracy Harvey looked down to check the flood of notifications caused by the new member.
[Your friend “Dragon Master” has joined the group chat]
[Hua Science Academy — Jettel: Welcome to the new member. Please read the group notice and change your nickname accordingly.]
[Hua Science Academy — Robby Foster: As per the rules, new members must share a photo when joining the group!]
Tracy Harvey shook her head and typed a message with her mind.
[Rosewood Research Institute — Tracy Harvey: This is my brother David Jones, and he wants to try to cultivate an Ice-Fire Overlord. He hopes you all can give some advice when you have time.]
David Jones noticed something — after Tracy Harvey sent the message about the Ice-Fire Overlord, the chat group instantly became silent.
Seeing this, Tracy Harvey glanced at David Jones.
“You see, because Dr. Lee is in closed-door cultivation, this group hasn’t been disbanded yet, but the doctors who were researching the evolution of the Destruction Tyrant Dragon have basically given up hope. However, with their profound knowledge, answering your questions will still be a breeze for them!”
David Jones nodded slightly, a trace of gratitude showing on his face.
Without Tracy Harvey’s introduction, it would have been difficult for him to squeeze into the top-tier circle of research doctors.
“You’ll have to study the Ice-Fire Zone research material yourself, and I hope you still have the courage to innovate after going through it,” said Tracy Harvey, waving her hand as she parked the car at the gates of Rosewood College.
…
Back at the villa dormitory, Rainbow discussed its triumph over the King Type with great excitement in front of its friends, but the occasional glances it threw at David Jones betrayed its inner worries.
“First step of the Destruction Tyrant Dragon evolution: Harness the pure Dragon Force to balance the conflict between ice and fire, laying the foundation for the Ice-Fire Zone. Only then is it possible to leverage the power of the Ice-Fire Origin to unite ice and fire into a nascent form of destructive power.”
David Jones closely reviewed the evolution research material that Miss Tracy had given him.
It was undeniable that Dr. Lee had completely surpassed Daisy Keynes in the research on destructive power. The straightforward analysis of the essence of power enabled David Jones to realize how reckless his previous evolution plan had been.
Without laying the foundation for the Ice-Fire Zone and coordinating all the Types of Arcane Force within the body with Dragon Force, the raging power of ice and fire would never settle down.
Even if he were to evolve by chance, the Dragon Body of a King True Dragon couldn’t survive the relentless erosion of the Ice-Fire Force.
“To coordinate the power with Dragon Force, the first requirement is a Psychic Power strong enough to shake matter and even the Rule. Although Rainbow’s Psychic Power is strong, it’s only at the level of a Golden Tier King Type, far from reaching the Purple Level of the Psychic Realm needed to affect the Rule,” murmured David Jones.
Advancement in the Psychic Level relies either on enlightenment or on external agents like elixirs.
Honestly, given Rainbow’s Talent, there is a possibility of enlightenment, but such a state of mind cannot be forced. The more one tries, the less likely enlightenment will come, and it’s too ethereal, with a high unpredictability.
As for elixirs, even the Soul-Consolidating Elixir that can achieve Green Psychic Level is already a Class VII SS tier elixir. If he wants to help Rainbow step into the Purple Psychic Level, he would likely need an eight-turns Golden Elixir, the stuff of legends.
“With the first step being this hard to overcome, no wonder so many research doctors have chosen to give up!”
David Jones exhaled a breath of turbid air.
What is the Purple Psychic Level? That’s a domain touched only by legendary strong beings. A King Dragon Pet would almost never have such a level, unless it were an Immortal reincarnation.
“Luckily, according to Dr. Lee’s estimation, there is some chance of unifying the Types of Arcane Force within the body even with the Blue Psychic Level capable of shaking matter.”
After a moment of contemplation, David Jones took out an exquisitely elegant, top-grade Star Ring.
“Kylin’s Blessing, Bodhi Enlightenment. This method might be worth a try!”
