247 Playing Games with Her [1]

Amon handed off the menu to the waiter, the latter giving him a respectful nod before disappearing.
He moved his attention back to Amelia, who sat in front of him, stretching her arms up in the air.
She released a powerful, tired exhale.
"Ueh…" She cracked her knuckles, stretching her arms as far as she could.
Once done, she brought them down, doing another exhale before looking at Amon with a grateful smile.
"Today was really tiring but fortunately we were able to get done fast. It's all thanks to you, I don't know how long it would have taken me by myself."
Amon returned the smile.
"Don't mention it." He replied.
It had been 3 hours since that incident at the store, and fortunately, both of them were able to forget about it, getting back to their shopping.
Now, they were finally done and had settled down to eat something.
Well, at least done with the school stuff for the festival and others.
The two still had to buy dresses for tomorrow's party, but they chose to do it at the end.
Fortunately, even when moving from shop to shop in the whole City Centre, Amon had not once encountered the group again.
And he knew it wasn't just a coincidence.
The image of a purple-haired boy flashed in his mind, his smile spreading.
He was truly grateful to him, for keeping the drama out of their way now.
Fortunately, Ren understood exactly what Amon was there to do and what he needed at the moment.
He had separated the group from Amon, letting him return to Amelia so that the two could ease their minds again.
That thumbs-up Ren had given at the end signaled to Amon that the former understood the assignment.
Giving another silent thanks to his brother in mind, Amon turned back to Amelia.
However, he was surprised when he saw her face focusing somewhere else in the distance.
Following her amber gaze, his eyes landed on a corner of the floor where they were.
The last three floors in the City Centre were designated for recreational and rest areas like play zones and eating areas.
And right now, Amelia's eyes were focused on the play zone, her attention caught by the kids playing various games.
A knowing smile spread on his lips as he opened his mouth, catching her attention.
"You miss those games?" He asked.
Amelia's eyes suddenly trembled with surprise as she was caught off guard.
She turned to Amon with surprise in her eyes, as if a child had just been caught stealing candy.
"N-no." She had an embarrassed look on her face.
"Why are you being so shy about it?" He laughed.
Amelia tried to avert her eyes, fiddling with her fingers as she hesitated to say something.
"What is it, say it?" Amon teased her further to get it out of her, leaning closer.
"Never..them." She mumbled something.
Amon's grin spread further as he put a hand to his ear.
"I didn't hear what you were saying."
Finally, Amelia said it, burying her eyes in her hands.
"I have never played those games."
Amon's eyes widened as his jaw dropped open.
"Huhhhh?" He asked, not believing what she said.
He saw Amelia's ears redden further but contrary to what he would normally do in these situations, he was still left baffled.
He leaned back in his chair, giving her space.
"So you are saying that you never played those games?" He asked, disbelief evident in his tone.
Amelia nodded slightly, as she slowly brought down her hands from her face, only to find Amon not smiling anymore.
Contrary to her expectations that he would laugh, he had a serious expression on his face.
And being the daughter of the strongest man in the world probably exposed her to a million threats, so it made sense that she wasn't allowed outside.

And unlike Alya, who had princess privileges, Amelia was also probably restricted alot.
Very serious in fact, as if a disaster had ensued.
"You good-" Amelia tried to ask but Amon raised a finger to her lips, silencing her as he closed his eyes as if he was meditating.
His serious voice came out in the next second.
"So, you are saying that you have never played these games?" He tried to confirm.
Amelia nodded under his gaze as it bore deep into her.
"That's an international crime that should get you 50 years in jail." He said.
Amelia's eyes widened as she quickly retorted. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"Why?"
Amon made a pleading expression as if he was struggling to understand her.
"What do you mean 'why?'? So you are literally saying you have never enjoyed the best part of your childhood!?" He asked.
"Listen-"
"No, wait, so you are saying that you were literally deprived of this peak your whole life?" He felt like screaming.
But at the same, Amelia pushed him back into his seat, grabbing his shoulders.
"Listen to me first, I was used to living in the capital royal palace with father and mother, we never had things like this there. And I was also never allowed outside for my safety."
"Oh…..true." Amon's expression finally relaxed.
He had forgotten that Amelia used to live in the royale palace with Arthur and Athena before.
And being the daughter of the strongest man in the world probably exposed her to a million threats, so it made sense that she wasn't allowed outside.
And unlike Alya, who had princess privileges, Amelia was also probably restricted alot.
"I always wanted to try those games but could never do so. And after coming here, I was thrown into a busy life from day 1. Never had any time to do things like these." Amelia explained.
"I didn't tell Katherine and Alice, my only friends about this as well so they didn't feel bad for it. You are probably the first person I'm sharing this with." She explained, as her eyes darted to the games again.
Amon saw a flicker of desire and longing in her eyes as she saw them.
Unknowingly, a warm feeling sprang in his heart at the mention of being the only person to know about this.
It was maybe warmth at finding himself to be this trustworthy that she told him this.
But just as Amon was about to speak, the waiter finally arrived with the food.
"Here is your order, sir." He carefully laid down everything.
