The Transmigrated Author

Chapter 180: Invasion (2)

{Rel's POV}

[Paris, The Museum Louvre]

yawwnnn...

"Are we here yet?" Stretching my arms out, I asked Camila who sat beside me on our ride there to the Louvre.

"Almost," Camila replied, her gaze still fixed on the passing cityscape.

"Okay."

I settled back into my seat.

It wouldn't be long now. The incident at the Louvre was near, and I needed Camila there to protect the people inside when the demi-human attack happens.

With her powerful magic and technical skill with mana, she could minimise casualties, even with Jan and Valencia already on the scene.

And If things stick along with the story I assume the attack would happen around the central area of it all.

The person executing this mission is only here on a one-man job and it's to send out a message to the world that there's people like them that exist on this earth.

But how do I get her to guard an area without raising suspicion?

I couldn't just blurt out the truth – that would only lead to chaos and panic.

"Just out of curiosity," I asked, "what kind of artifacts are you hoping to find at the Louvre?"

Camila turned to me, a thoughtful expression on her face. "Hmm, I'm not quite sure yet. Maybe something related to ancient magic or powerful relics? I'm open to anything that catches my eye."

"I see," I replied, a plan forming in my mind.

"Well, I've heard they have a rather extensive collection of magical artifacts. We'll stumble upon something interesting.

Camila's eyes lit up. "Really? That would be amazing!"

A subtle smile tugged at my lips. This is going according to plan, I thought to myself, my focus sharpening as we neared our destination.

The Uber pulled up to the curb, and we stepped out onto the bustling sidewalk. The Louvre loomed before us, its glass pyramid gleaming in the afternoon sun. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the events to come.

"Here we go,"

FWANG!

Just as I thought... It's here again.

A cold shiver ran down my spine seeing the mention of someone I haven't heard of in a while.

Jasper? I thought that crazy fucker was in a maximum security prison?

How'd he even get out?

I was sure that Aurelia beat his ass to the point of his soul being cleansed.

If he still has the powers of a demon then he'd give me some trouble.

But... I'd probably win I think.

I just have to figure out a way to beat him, without using the power of light.

First, I needed to make sure Camila was in a safe place and was away from the location of the attack.

With her power, I thought, she could be a valuable asset in this fight.

My gaze drifted to her, her face a mask of curiosity as she admired the museum's facade.

I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the chaos that was about to unfold.

"Ready to head in?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

Camila nodded, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Absolutely," she replied, a hint of excitement in her voice.

"Let's go see what this place has in store for us."

For her, the Louvre held far more than ancient artifacts and historical treasures.

It held a battleground, a stage for a conflict that would shake the very foundations of this world.

And as the author, it was my responsibility to ensure that the story played out as it should.

...

...

...

The Louvre's grand entrance, a towering glass pyramid bathed in the afternoon sun, welcomed us into its air-conditioned embrace.

A stark contrast to the bustling Parisian streets outside, the museum's cool interior offered a welcome respite from the summer heat.

As we stepped through the revolving doors, a wave of familiar energy washed over me.

I glanced at my watch and I knew that the event was bound to happen soon.

I'll have to scrap whatever I had in mind for Camila.

I turned to her, a sense of urgency in my voice. "Listen," I said, my tone more serious than usual, "I'm not feeling well. I need to find a restroom quickly."

Camila raised an eyebrow, her expression a mix of concern and annoyance. "Right now?" she asked, a hint of impatience in her voice. "We just got here."

"I know, but it's urgent," I insisted, hoping my acting was convincing. "It must have been something I ate. Why don't you go ahead and start exploring? I'll catch up with you in a bit."

Camila didn't hesitate. "Okay," she replied curtly, already turning towards the main hall. "I'll start exploring. Don't take too long."

I nodded, not bothering with a smile.

As soon as she was out of sight, I broke into a brisk walk through the museum's layout.

It's pretty interesting to see that everything I had remembered about this musuem would be here.

Even with the additional concepts of artifacts and extra rooms being placed here.

It all turned out well and it perfectly fit with the aesthetic and design of this place.

Now... I should head to that place quickly if I want to find Jasper.

- The ability clockwork of time slows the world. But for Rel, his body is not restricted from slowed time. Essentially this means that weaponry such as a gun or a bow used within slowed time, cannot be restricted due to being the property of Rel's possession.

As long as he's holding a weapon it cannot be slowed but anything fired as a projectile will be slowed since it's no longer in Rel's possession. (Summary)
