The Tycoon's Odyssey

Chapter 105: 105:Fired

"Aurora, are you done finishing the check?"

[Yes, and here's the list.]

"Good!"

With a satisfied smile, Evan stood up and stretched his body while looking at the names on the list with a cold smile forming on his lips.

Aurora had also included details of who these people were in contact with. His eyes widened in disbelief as he spotted the name of his good old friend, Noah, who had been secretly trying to poach many of his employees.

It seems the fellow was also trying to set up a software firm for which he was trying to poach his people, and wanted to replicate Evan's work, especially develop something similar to Codezipper.

"It's time to flex a bit," Evan murmured and started to prepare for the small showdown.

The sleek, modern office of Next Gen Innovations hummed with the usual activity of its high-tech workspace.

Today, however, a new atmosphere permeated the room due to the sudden entry of a newcomer who stirred the place as soon as he entered.

As Evan entered the office, his imposing presence instantly captured the attention of the entire workforce. With his striking appearance, he resembled more like a model than a corporate leader.

Whispers of awe and confusion rippled through the room as the employees recognized him as the genius behind the groundbreaking Code Zipper and System Manager.

A group of individuals, previously identified by Aurora as suspects, were summoned into the room. The tension was palpable.

Evan stood by the window, his back turned to the room, casting a cold silhouette against the bright light streaming in.

Meanwhile, Aria stood by his side, observing the proceedings with an inscrutable expression.

The suspects entered and greeted Evan with a mix of respect and trepidation. Evan barely acknowledged their greetings, instead nodding curtly and gesturing towards a series of folders laid out on a nearby table.

"Pick up the folder with your name and review its contents," Evan instructed coldly.

As the suspects approached the table, their hands trembled slightly while they picked up their respective folders.

The next moment as they opened the folders…

The color drained from their faces as they read through the documents, their expressions turning pale. Some even shook visibly, their fear evident.

"Ahhh!"

"How!"

Gasps of shock mixed with fear erupted from their lips, leaving them flabbergasted.

Evan turned to face them, a cold smile playing on his lips. "Did you really think that I wouldn't know about your shady deals?" His eyes narrowed as he addressed one of them directly. "Jessica, I see you were asking for 50 million to sell the Code Zipper source code. How quaint."

The room fell silent as the accused individuals began stuttering, attempting to offer excuses. Evan's demeanor remained cold and unyielding as he surveyed the group.

The five individuals identified as betrayers were:

1. Jessica Lee- Chief Technology Officer

2. Michael Stevens - Head of Security Operations

3. Liam Carter - Lead Software Engineer

4. Emily Thompson - Director of Internal Affairs

5. James Walker- Senior Systems Administrator

Their desperate attempts at justification only heightened the tension in the room as Evan's gaze remained piercingly cold.

Jessica, with a tremor in her voice, stepped forward. "Sir Evan, please, you have to understand. I only did it because I was pressured into it. My family—"

†&ђ?ҽ!-ƿ*ⅼ-аϲ@е-!

Evan cut her off with a dismissive wave. "Everyone has their reasons, Jessica. But that doesn't change the facts."

Michael Stevens shifted uneasily. "This is a misunderstanding. I was only trying to secure some funds for our department. It wasn't meant to undermine you or the company. Please, I can make it right."

Evan's gaze remained unyielding. "Securing funds by compromising our core assets? I don't see how you can make this right."

Liam Carter, visibly sweating, tried to explain, "I was coerced by an outside party. They threatened my job and safety. I didn't want to do it, but I felt I had no choice."

Evan's expression didn't soften even a bit. "Coercion doesn't absolve you of responsibility, Liam. If you had come forward, we might have been able to protect you."

Evan's cold smile remained. "Your intentions don't matter if they lead to betrayal. Actions speak louder than words."

"Tell me, have Aria or I ever mistreated you?"

"We..."

"Tell me!" Evan's sharp shout erupted, startling them. At that moment, his eyes looked like a cold Demon spewing fire at them.

Evan remained impassive. "You all had a choice, and you chose to betray the trust placed in you. You'll have to deal with the consequences of your actions."

The atmosphere in the room grew even more tense as the five suspects, now thoroughly intimidated, began to plead for mercy.

"Shut up"

"You have been in contact with other companies, so why don't you just go and take the position offered by you? I am sure that they would be thrilled to take you in," Evan said sarcastically.

After all, how could they not know that once they are thrown out from here they won't have any other value?

Evan's gaze was unyielding as he faced them. "Enough. I've heard all I need to. You're all dismissed."

The five individuals, their pleas fading into silence, turned and shuffled out of the room, their heads hung low. Evan's voice cut through the air one last time. "Remember, each of you is in breach of your contract. Fines will be imposed accordingly."

As the door closed behind them, Aria stepped closer, her voice soft but concerned. "Is it really alright to just let them go like this?"

She didn't ask how Evan knew about the betrayal, rather she trusted his judgement.

Evan's expression remained cold, almost demonic. "I'm monitoring them closely. If any of them show signs of remorse, they will be given a chance. Otherwise…"

Aria smiled at Evan and felt a shiver down her spine.
