The Tycoon's Odyssey

Chapter 16: 16:Assault

The meeting proved quite eventful for Evan in finalizing things.

The place was going to be painted in a soft palette of light green and blue pastels. The place would have Asian vibes with a serene and peaceful atmosphere.

The interior design of Evan's Tea Cafe is a blend of Asian vibes and modern comfort, with a serene atmosphere created by a soft palette of light green and blue pastels. Natural materials like bamboo and light-toned wood add warmth, while plush seating invites patrons to relax.

Soft lighting and Asian-inspired decor accents complete the tranquil ambiance, making it the perfect place to unwind over a cup of tea.

"Are you satisfied with this?"The lady asked.

"Yes, I am up for it, so what's the price?"

The lady clicked on the laptop a few times and soon had the budget.

Overall the cost was 305,000.

"Any discount..."

She shook her head with a bitter smile.

"Sir, first thing. This price is already the lowest and frankly, this isn't a very big project. Secondly, you should know that labor costs and material costs fluctuate every day.."

Evan sighed and then extended his head.

He was a bit novice however, it didn't look like he was going to be scanned.

"Okay, I got it..."

After finalizing the deal and signing the contract he walked out of place.

"It's already nighttime. I thought the meeting would take an hour or two but it had been several hours."

Designers take time to craft but the place was quite small so the lady used the saved templates to craft the design with Leon's suggestion, it was done today though it took six hours.

Shaking his head, Evan stopped the taxi.

"Where do you want to head, Sir?"

Evan paused for a brief.

It was half past 8 and he also needed to do some grocery shopping. For a moment he even thought of going to a hotel for the feast but then shook his head.

'Let's go home...It has been a tiring day.."

"B2C street, Decker lane.

"Got it..."

...

Evan returned home after a long day, feeling a sense of relief wash over him as he stepped through the front door.

"Haa! In terms of productivity, I wasted a day and didn't study or gain experience."

However, his relaxation was short-lived as he noticed a small crack in the door, something he hadn't seen before.

The door knob was loose. The door opened as soon as he placed his hands on the knob.

Frowning, he muttered to himself, "That wasn't there this morning..."

As he entered, Evan couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

His belongings seemed slightly displaced as if someone had been rummaging through them.

With a bead of sweat, he murmured under his breath, "Did I leave a window open? This doesn't feel right."

Moving further into the house, Evan's unease grew with each step.

The air felt heavy, charged with tension. His body rippled as if sending him a warning signal.

For a moment he even thought of calling the cops but if nothing popped up, he might be the one in trouble.

His senses heightened, he scanned the room for any sign of intrusion.

Looking around, as he turned towards the kitchen.

Suddenly, a noise from the kitchen jolted him into action.

"Shit!"

As he turned around in the corner of the kitchen, a suddenly pounced on him wielding a dagger with a menacing glint in his eyes.

Reacting on instinct, Evan dodged to the side just in time, narrowly avoiding the blade as it sliced through the air where he had been standing moments before.

With his heart beating crazily, Evan steadied himself and tried to engage in conversation to draw away the man's attention.

"Who are you? What do you want?" he demanded, his voice sounding hoarse.

"You don't need to know who I am as a reason for death, how dare you harm My goddess, "The man yelled and thrust the dagger.

"What the fuck?"

As Evan dodged the attacker's thrust, his heart pounded in his chest and he could feel adrenaline coursing through his veins.

CLANG!

The dagger tearing through the air missed and struck the wall giving the man a jolt.

Evan quickly scanned the kitchen for anything he could use as a weapon.

Spotting a heavy frying pan hanging from a hook on the wall, he lunged towards it, and his finger clasped around the handle just as the intruder got up and charged at him again.

With a swift movement, Evan swung the frying pan with all his strength, aiming for the assailant's head.

The man managed to duck just in time, but just then reversed in action.

The pan that was missed was pulled back.

The man bent his back to avoid narrowly but in doing so force of the swing sent him stumbling backwards, giving Evan a momentary advantage.

The intruder regained his balance and lunged at Evan once more, his dagger flashing in the dim light of the kitchen.

CLANG!

Evan parried the blow with the frying pan, the clang of metal against metal ringing through the air.

As they grappled, Evan threw the frying pan and started using all the things around.

He used the kitchen utensils around him to his advantage, grabbing a spatula and using it to deflect the attacker's strikes.

Then bending around, he picked up a jar of wheat and threw it at the man

The jar hurling into the air slammed the man's chest and smoke of white wheat ensnared his vision.

Then with a quick twist, Evan managed to disarm the man, sending the dagger clattering to the floor.

Seeing an opportunity, Evan delivered a swift kick to the intruder's chest, sending him crashing to the ground with a thud.

"Fuck! Take this you piece of shit…"

Using the opportunity, he picked up the frying pan and slammed it on his head.

"AHHHHHH!"

The man groaned in pain but Evan ignored it and stuck again and then he kicked the man's balls.

The man's whole body jerked up and down as a terrifying ball-crushing pain assaulted him.

Evan quickly subdued the man, binding his hands with a length of rope from the nearby pantry.

Breathing heavily, Evan looked at the man before calling the police.
