Thrown Into A New World: Let The Punishment Begin!

Chapter 109 - Cannot Blame A Businesswoman

Chapter 109 - Cannot Blame A Businesswoman

The moment Yvonne received his approval and assurance, she gave him a quick nod before clearing her throat.

She placed the paper with the tracings at the side and pointed her finger at the old map on the table.

Marquess Samed observed the spots that she had pointed her stubby fingers and then looked up.

"The hospitals?" He questioned in doubt as he was not sure what she was trying to imply here.

Yvonne's nod proved that he had grasped her first point accurately.

"As I had mentioned earlier, the number of hospitals is the most vital part of the plan." She shook her head as she glanced at the map.

The presence of only three hospitals in the entire Kingdom of Rosenhyde was one of the biggest reasons for the massive amount of deaths.

"Now, onto the next issue." She urged him to move onto the next topic with her words.

Marquess Samed had just begun to ponder on the hospital issue when she had already hopped to the next one.

'Hospitals are only the place for treatment after they are affected. What about when they are at home?' She sneered at the backward knowledge of this place.

"The people need to be educated on what are the do's and the don'ts for their better health." She announced the next source of their problem.

The nobles were too particular about their hygiene, the quality of food they consumed, and the cleanliness of their surroundings.

But the same could not be said for the common citizens who were not too fussy about themselves.

"If the people live in better conditions, in a cleaner environment then the chances of the spread of any common disease would decrease significantly." She explained what her words meant.

'If they don't know how to keep themselves clean and their surroundings clean then they might as well welcome the germs into their homes with their arms open wide.' She scoffed at the ignorance present.

"And how would we do that?" Marquess spoke up for the first time since she had begun her explanation of the second issue.

Yvonne shook her head and gestured for him to not speak as that would disrupt her flow.

'Was I just asked to stay silent?' The Royal Tutor stared at the child with astonishment at what had just happened.

Yvonne had a habit of completing her deductions in one go before she would break down each aspect of it.

She then raised the paper on which she had drawn a large number of lines and displayed it to the man sitting on the other side of the table.

"What is this?" He questioned as all he could see were lines of different sizes.

Yvonne placed the paper onto the map and adjusted it until she was right at the same place as she had used to draw.

"Can you see the lines over the map?" She inquired and got a hum in response.

Marquess Samed also leaned forward to get a closer look at the paper which was placed over the map.

"These lines that you can see are my version of what the roads should look like." She explained what those weird lines meant.

Hearing her words made a light glow in the man's brain as he focused his eyes on the two papers placed one over the other.

True to what she had said, the way she had aligned the slightly translucent paper over the map made the lines look like the roads indicated in the original map.

'So this was what she was drawing all this while?' He understood once she had said her piece.

Yvonne's biggest dissatisfaction with this place was the horrible roads that were present.

'All wobbly and dingy! Makes me feel queasy every time I enter the carriage!' She cursed when she thought of the two-day journey she had suffered through.

The distance from St. Claire fief to Amarthea, the capital city took a single day on horseback but the same would take two days when in a carriage.

Her biggest regret was the lack of a smooth cemented road which would make the wheels roll over it with ease.

'I should keep my expectations low and just wish for proper usable roads.' She curbed her greedy heart.

Just as much as she needed better roads so did the citizens of Rosenhyde.

However, the roads that she had drawn on the maps were the trade routes that she had planned for future businesses.

While she was drawing those routes, she had made a conscious effort to make them in such a way that they would be in her favor.

'This cannot be called as being selfish, right?' She wondered to herself.

The answer she came up with was a big negative since that would be just as useful in her plans to improve the medical policies.

Though they would aid in her future endeavors, they would also help in the development of the entire Kingdom.

'They cannot blame a businesswoman for trying to make things work in her favor.' She coughed when this thought came to her mind.

When Marquess Samed noticed her silence after she had pointed at the map, he reckoned that she was finally done with her explanations.

"Now can you say what you meant by the second issue?" He inquired and sneered at her for chiding him earlier.

Yvonne chuckled awkwardly when she realized that she had offended this man and gave him her signature angelic smile to appease his anger.

The same smile that she had shown her parents was directed toward her tutor but it seemed to have lost its value.

"Get to the point." Sullivan snarled, not affected by the smile that he received for the first time ever.

The smile faded in the next instant and she coughed to hide her embarrassment.

'There were only two people who were able to resist my charm and even dared to sneer at me after seeing this beautiful face!' She glanced down at her hands.

Her teeth gritted against each other as she thought of those two people.

The first person to do so, the brat named Damien, and now this man, her tutor Marquess Sullivan Samed.

Throwing away the furious thoughts in her head, she decided to get this discussion over with.

"Now that you know the issues… This is how you solve them." She announced with her chin raised with confidence.

Marquess Samed raised his brows at the haughty expression on her face and gave her the nod to let her begin.
