Chapter 215: Biggest Scheme, Desolate City
Chapter 215: Biggest Scheme, Desolate City
Clora of Crimson Marsh was defeated, but she left a mystery behind as it appeared she was a living being.
Aleron felt it might be her avatar or something designated as a boss in this dungeon.
They didn't dwell on the exchange Aleron had with Clora any further and opened the reward boxes.
Golden Reward Box, the boss defeating reward, gave 1000 Chaos Stones, a medium-difficulty Chaos Art with a recovery speed of 72 Chakra per second.
It was slightly better than the previous medium-difficulty Chaos Art they got.
As for Chaos Stones, these stones could be mined or granted from Dungeons. They were the only currency usable here to buy anything. Another usage of Chaos Stones could be found in Special Events that would sometimes appear in Dungeons or in random chaotic phenomena that regularly manifested throughout Chaosverse.
On the other hand, the Gold-tier Random Reward box that everyone got gave two rewards. One, a random colored star potion among Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Brown, and White.
Red increased Strength.
Green increased Agility.
Yellow increased Stamina.
Brown increased Health.
Blue increased Magic.
And White increased Soul.
Since breaking through to Paragon-rank lifeform evolved their Magic source, there was no separate need to increase Magilore's energy capacity.
Like how one's Soul energy capacity increased as long as their soul potency increased, Arcane source had become like that because it was now in the shape of a glistering round frozen blue pond, with no separation of its core or pool of energy like before. As long as Magic potency increased, one's Magilore pool's capacity would increase correspondingly.
The second reward they got from the Gold-tier Reward box was random.
Some got high-star Paragon-rank equipment, some got Mystic Artifacts of Primary-order (the lowest grade, one grade below Rare-order), and some got a bunch of resources.
...
The group left the Dungeon after going through the exit portal. Now that they had gotten stronger and adapted to Chaosverse by clearing a dungeon, it was time to leave.
Aleron called out a giant Zord, one with plenty of space on its back-Drakonis, the Infernal Dragon Champion.
'Zords are unique and can level up. However, they haven't leveled up even once so far, so I have to find out what they need to level up and measure their current power level as well,' Aleron thought as he inspected Drakonis.
"When will we arrive at the populous area of 1st region? Any idea, Gachapi?" Yueha asked. [Gachapi: With our current speed, we should reach Desolate City after six days.]
"The first region is also called Desolation, so this must be the main city of this region, eh?" Riki said.
[Gachapi: There's only one city in the 1st region of Chaosverse, and it's this Desolate City. It's massive, and all forces of the upper cosmos have their branch in this city.]
[Gachapi: But of course, there are special locations throughout this region. The only problem is...these special locations are not permanent because they are formed via chaotic phenomena.]
[Gachapi: Also, Dungeons are not common here. We got one via a Dagger, but such items that can lead to a dungeon are exceedingly rare. As for the Dungeon Gates that randomly appear, they are also rare, and competition to acquire them is fierce. Some Dungeons also have Chaos Veins that contain Chaos Stones, which are even more important.]
"We'll see what we do once we get there," Aleron said, smiling. "We aren't in a hurry anymore, so we'll stay low-key and settle down first."
"That's better indeed," Enorin nodded.
Everyone soon entered meditation afterward, silently sitting on the huge back of this unique semi-metallic Dragon Zord.
All of them had also decided to reach level 2 in their Main concept first, so they were progressing towards it.
They were determined to reach level 2 in their Concept before reaching the Desolate City so that they could better aid Aleron in this new journey.
...
Among the 999 Upper Cosmoses, the first nine were strongest and had the same atmospheric power as Chaosverse.
The most powerful of forces resided in these nine Upper Cosmos, but even among them, each of those nine Cosmos had a single force that reigned above them all.
Competition among these nine forces lasted for tens of thousands of years, and their top powerhouses were at the forefront of the Chaosverse.
Most of the old forces throughout 999 Upper Cosmos that weren't annihilated knew about the Eternals of Chaosverse and the way to a better world.
Many champions tried and failed or gave up clearing the First Labyrinth so they could live in the Multiverse realm.
But some time ago, something strange happened.
The strongest nine forces suddenly joined hands together. Conflicts ceased to exist.
And...they hatched a new plan from the information a powerhouse from Rostark House from the multiverse provided. This powerhouse gave up the quest after failing and remained in the Multiverse realm.
Rostark House was the strongest force of 1st Upper Cosmos. It had stood alive for around ten thousand years. As such, they were also the ones who knew most about the Chaosverse, Eternals, and Multiverse.
And they wanted to get out of this bubble and enter a new world-the Multiverse Realm!
Hence, the grandest alliance in history was formed among the most powerful of forces.
Rostark House, Meeting Hall.
"How many Lower cosmos' wills do we have under our control?"
"1329 cosmos wills. We failed to capture around 10% of cosmos wills."
"Do we capture the remaining ones or move forward to the next step of the plan?"
"The next step is controlling the 900 Upper cosmos. We have established branches of our alliance in each upper cosmos, but we don't have enough of those 'materials' to execute Project Madness."
"Let's start executing the plan regarding Lower Cosmos Wills we have under our control. 1329 lower cosmoses are enough. If a single lower cosmos shrinks and compresses, absorbing all life and everything within, we'll have one Cosmos Battery. 1329 Cosmos Batteries are enough for the next step of our plan."
"We have the majority of Eternals on our side since they also want to finish their suffering. Let's do it properly, and we'll succeed. There's no one who can stop it."
"Good. Let's disperse now and handle the work."
...
Gachapi thought an upper cosmos force tried to enslave the cosmos will to secure a steady stream of people, but the grand plan was entirely different.
The strongest forces of the Upper Cosmos wanted to destroy more than half of this world for one purpose-forcefully creating a stable path into the Multiverse Realm.
Their champions selected by Eternals have failed in every attempt in the First Labyrinth, and Eternals were also tired. Their candidate could wield their power once they reach the Supreme-rank lifeform, but none ever succeeded in defeating the boss of First Labyrinth, failing to liberate them and establishing a secure path to the Multiverse realm.
As such, most of the Eternals had given up, except for a few.
...
Six days passed by in the blink of an eye as the party finally saw the outline of the grand city ahead they opened their eyes after feeling the change in the atmosphere.
During these six days, Enorin, Yueha, Darzax, and Jiang managed to reach 2nd level of their
first Concept.
"Wow, the city looks crazy," Aleron's eyes glinted, using his Concept power to look past
layers of space and directly observe it whole.
If one looked at this city massive city spanning thousands of kilometers from above, only one
word would come to their mind.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Chaotic.
Designs and structures were all over the place with every force and their own unique style.
But there was also a useful rule in the city-No fighting allowed. As such, it was important that Aleron and others settled down in the city.
This security was provided by Chaosverse itself, but not for free. In exchange, everyone had to
give 10 Chaos Stones per head every month.
It was a tax.
As the group neared the city, Aleron commanded Drakonis to descend from the sky. The city
had tons of entrances, so the group landed at a random one.
The city gates had two ten-meter-tall stone statues as guards.
When the group arrived before them, both guards blocked the gate using their massive spears.
"Pay the entry fee. Five Chaos Stones per head."
"Thankfully, we got Chaos Stones from the dungeon," Aleron said with a chuckle and gave 80
Chaos stones to the Guards.
The chaos stone vanished while they were in the air and the Guards retracted their spears.
"You may enter. Attacking someone is prohibited unless both parties agree to fight beforehand. If you break the rule, you will receive a death penalty."
"Unless you manage to acquire a territory in the city to live in, you must pay 10 Chaos Stones
per day."
Everyone was surprised at the two rules.
"Death Penalty is crazy, but kinda good for weak and newbies here," Ying grinned. "Good for
us."
"That's good, but territory?" Mei tilted her head. "Master, what's that?"
As the group entered the city, Aleron told them about what he knew. "Territory is basically a house for us to live in, but instead of buying it, we have to win it
ourselves," Aleron wryly smiled. "Fortunately, we can initiate a challenge for territory and the other party must accept. They can't reject."
"Hmmm, the city is vast, to say the least. We will need to find proper opponents as well,"
Darzax said.
"Since we raided the dungeon, we have tons of resources and items to sell," Aleron said "Some resources can be used for those stat-increasing potions, so we'll visit an Alchemy house first."
As such, the group entered the vast city filled with people of all kinds and races, with big and small streets and exotic structures and buildings.
Fortunately, there were information boards and also guides who quickly approached Aleron and the group upon seeing them entering the city.
The guides asked for a couple of Choas Stones in exchange for showing them places they
needed to go and required. This was also a way for people to make a living for a short time since those so-called Guides were also Paragon-rank powerhouses!
