Ultimate Village Doctor

Chapter 115: Chapter 118 Drinking Alcohol

Chapter One Hundred and Eighteen

Upon hearing Long Fakui's words.

A hint of suspicion appeared in Long Xiaoshan's eyes as he said, "Really? You don't want to be the village chief anymore?"

"Really, truly, truer than even Chairman Mao. Little Xiaoshan, I know I was wrong. If you still don't trust your uncle, I'll have no choice but to kneel before you," Long Fakui said, earnestly while making a gesture as if he was about to kneel.

"No!"

Long Xiaoshan quickly grabbed him.

Speaking the truth, he didn't have a favorable opinion of Long Fakui.

But Long Xiaoshan was a person who cherished old ties; after all, Long Fakui was from the same village and was a blood-related elder, which was why Long Xiaoshan hadn't used any harsh means against him.

Otherwise, with his methods, even taking Long Fakui's life without anyone being the wiser wouldn't have been an issue.

Now that Long Fakui was speaking like this.

He mused, "Uncle Fakui, if you don't engage in those schemes and we all contribute to the development of Longyang Village together, of course I have no problem with that."

"Little Xiaoshan, you're really broad-minded; let's have dinner at my place tonight, and I can discuss the village affairs with you. Although I haven't made much contribution as the village chief, I still know quite a bit about the situation in the village," Long Fakui said sincerely.

Long Xiaoshan thought for a moment and replied, "Okay."

"Then it's settled. Xiaoshan, you go ahead with your work. Big Mountain Brother, Sister-in-law, I'll be leaving now," Long Fakui said and left the farm.

Watching Long Fakui's retreating back, Long Xiaoshan narrowed his eyes slightly.

He hadn't expected Long Fakui to concede so quickly.

And he wasn't entirely convinced in his heart.

But he was a cultivator.

A mere Long Fakui.

He didn't take him too seriously, hoping the man was truly sincere.

If there were still any conspiracies and tricks, he wouldn't hold back anymore.

Long Xiaoshan turned around, informed his parents, and then went to check on the farm's situation.

Xu Manqing, Wang Yan, and the others were playing by the river bank. Long Xiaoshan walked over; there were still many fun places in the countryside. He spent the time catching fish and shrimps in the river, picking fruits on the mountain with them, and the time flew by swiftly.

In a blink, the afternoon had passed.

Long Fakui's phone call came through.

Long Xiaoshan agreed without saying much.

He picked out a bag of fruits from what they'd gathered, carried it, informed his parents, and began walking toward the village.

Long Fakui's house was right at the entrance to the village, the most conspicuous one around, a large blue-tiled house covering several hundred square meters, backed by mountains, with a river in front, and no other houses within dozens of meters. It was quite the unique feature in Longyang Village.

Long Xiaoshan arrived at Long Fakui's house and knocked on the door.

A tender voice called out from inside, "Coming."

After a while, the door opened.

A woman wearing a peach-red T-shirt opened the door; she was very attractive and wore light makeup. However, at first glance, anyone would notice the huge waves on her chest first.

As Long Xiaoshan stood on the step below, his head was level with those waves.

This caused Long Xiaoshan to instinctively step back, saying somewhat awkwardly, "Aunt Jin Lian."

"Xiaoshan." A complex look flashed in Jin Lian's eyes, she hesitated, then from inside, Long Fakui's voice asked, "Jin Lian, who's there?"

"It's Xiaoshan. Xiaoshan, come on in," Jin Lian called out.

Long Xiaoshan nodded and entered; he stepped into a courtyard and then the main hall, which was nicely decorated in Long Fakui's house.

The floors were tiled and the hall housed a flat-screen TV.

When Long Fakui saw Long Xiaoshan come in, he quickly stood up and said, "Xiaoshan's here, please sit, please sit."

Long Xiaoshan smiled and placed the bag of fruits on the coffee table.

"You didn't have to bring anything."

"It's all from our own farm."

Long Xiaoshan spoke, then sat down. Long Fakui took out some cigarettes and offered one to Long Xiaoshan.

Long Xiaoshan waved his hand, indicating he did not smoke.

"I want fruit, I want fruit." A girl, seventeen or eighteen years old, ran down the stairs. She was quite pretty, but in every aspect of her speech and behavior, she seemed just like a child who had never grown up.

She grabbed the fruit Long Xiaoshan had brought and started nibbling away at it.

Long Xiaoshan saw this girl.

He had long known about Long Fakui's mentally challenged daughter, named Long Shiyu, who acted abnormally ever since she was young and had low intelligence. The villagers would privately call her the "foolish girl."

She was rarely seen in the village, supposedly always kept at home.

It appeared that she was the girl before him.

However, upon closer inspection, Long Xiaoshan furrowed his brows slightly and squinted his eyes. A fine silver light flickered in his pupils as he watched the girl chewing on the fruit.

"What are you doing, don't you know the rules?" Long Fakui smacked the table and stood up, scolding the girl.

Long Shiyu started crying loudly after being scolded by Long Fakui.

Jin Lian quickly went over to her, pulled Long Shiyu, and said, "Little Yu, not here, go upstairs quickly."

"I want a peach, I want a peach," Long Shiyu cried out loud.

"Hurry and take her upstairs, it's embarrassing," Long Fakui ordered.

"Uncle Fakui, let her eat it if she likes it," Long Xiaoshan said as he took out a peach from his bag, walked over, and handed it to Long Shiyu.

Long Shiyu laughed foolishly for a moment, grabbed the peach, and started to gnaw on it, with the juice dripping all over her chest.

Jin Lian quickly pulled Long Shiyu upstairs.

"Xiaoshan, I'm sorry you had to see that," Long Fakui said.

"It's nothing, Uncle Fakui. Why haven't you taken Little Yu to see a doctor?"

"See what? She's just like this now, as long as she doesn't starve, it's fine," Long Fakui said indifferently.

Out here in the countryside, there's a strong preference for boys over girls.

Long Fakui obviously had little affection for his simple-minded daughter and quickly steered the conversation away, talking to Long Xiaoshan about the village affairs.

It seemed that Long Fakui really had reformed.

He was completely forthright, sharing with Long Xiaoshan the situation in the village.

The two of them talked for a while.

Delicious aromas wafted out from the kitchen.

Long Fakui stood up and said, "Come on, Xiaoshan, let's go have a drink with your uncle."

Long Xiaoshan had no objections, stood up, and the two went to the dining table, which was already laid with many dishes. Long Fakui said, "Xiaoshan, your Aunt Jin Lian's cooking is really good, give it a try."

"Sure, I'll give it a try," Long Xiaoshan sat down.

Long Fakui opened a bottle of alcohol and said, "Come on, join your uncle for a drink."Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Long Xiaoshan had also drunk alcohol in jail, so he didn't say much.

Long Fakui poured Long Xiaoshan a drink.

The two of them ate and drank, with Long Fakui frequently offering more drinks. Long Xiaoshan accepted them all without refusal. Soon, a bottle was finished, and seeing that Long Xiaoshan wasn't red-faced or out of breath, Fakui was somewhat taken aback and said, "Little Xiaoshan, you have quite the capacity for alcohol."

"It's alright," Long Xiaoshan said casually.

Being a cultivator with True Qi, one bottle was nothing to him. If he used his True Qi, he could drink any amount without getting drunk, able to dispel the alcohol completely.

"Jin Lian, come here," Long Fakui called.

Jin Lian came over, and Long Fakui said, "You toast a glass to Brother Xiaoshan."

Jin Lian hesitated, and Long Fakui said, "Hurry up."

Jin Lian bit her lip, stood up, and said, "I'll go get another bottle."

She went over to the cabinet, took out a bottle of red wine, and said, "Brother Xiaoshan, I don't know how to drink white alcohol, I can only drink this."

"No worries, Auntie, do as you please," Long Xiaoshan replied.

Jin Lian poured two glasses of red wine, one for Long Xiaoshan.

Long Xiaoshan, not minding, clinked glasses with Jin Lian, then drained his in one swig.
