Chapter 12: 12 Village Tyrant
"Don't get me started. It's all because of that runt, Long Xiaoshan." Long Fakui, with a dark expression, still felt upset thinking about the morning's events.
"What about little Xiaoshan? What did he do to you?" asked the curious Zhang Widow.
Long Fakui then recounted the morning's incident.
Zhang Widow covered her mouth, giggling incessantly.
"Fuck you, what's so funny?" Long Fakui slapped Zhang Widow across the face.
Zhang Widow was taken aback, then fiercely clawed at Long Fakui's face, while screaming, "You hit me, you hit me! You, surnamed Long, have caused trouble with so many girls and widows back in the village, and when someone catches you red-handed, you still hit me. You think you're something special just because you have some stinking money?"
Zhang Widow's nails were long and sharp, quickly leaving several bloody scratches on Long Fakui's face.
In pain, Long Fakui grabbed Zhang Widow's hair, threw her onto the bed, and choked her as he said, "What are you screaming for? Keep it up and you'll get fired from the factory tomorrow. Then I'd like to see how you'll pay Dongzi's school fees."
Zhang Widow was originally struggling desperately, but after hearing Long Fakui's words, she shuddered and slowly stopped moving.
Long Fakui snorted, released Zhang Widow's neck, kicked her in the belly sending her curling up, and after she crawled off the bed and got dressed, he spat out viciously, "Be smart from now on. If there's a next time, don't say I didn't warn you."
Long Fakui swaggered out of Zhang Widow's house.
After Long Fakui left, Zhang Widow slowly got up from the bed, her eyes red and swollen, glaring hatefully at Long Fakui's departing figure, and hissed through clenched teeth, "You, surnamed Long, will not die a good death."
Long Xiaoshan, seeing Zhang Widow sitting there naked, felt embarrassed to look any longer and quickly averted his gaze.
But now, he had completely seen through Long Fakui's true colors.
This old bastard had come back to the village with no good intentions, setting up a factory to control the economic lifeline of the entire village. Longyang Village was mostly populated by women, who were also too poor to scrape together a living, leaving them at the mercy of this old bastard's power.
It seemed that this old bastard had already harmed quite a few decent families.
Long Xiaoshan's "vision" had initially continued to follow Long Fakui, looking to see what other bad things he might do, but as he extended his sight further, he felt a wave of dizziness and the view became extremely blurry. Long Xiaoshan hurriedly pulled back his "vision."
It seemed that this ability to see through space wasn't unlimited. Long Xiaoshan estimated that about forty to fifty meters was the limit.
Even so, Long Xiaoshan was exhilarated.
This was a superpower.
He had actually acquired a superpower.
He had only touched that bottle, and now he was even more certain that the bottle was no ordinary object.
Right, that bottle. Long Xiaoshan subconsciously used this new superpower on himself and the view flickered before him, revealing an image of his skeleton and the flow of his blood vessels, with his internal organs appearing exceptionally clear.
Finally, Long Xiaoshan saw the bottle.
It was floating at the position of his forehead.
So, this superpower didn't only allow him to see through space, but also to have clairvoyance.
Long Xiaoshan was incredibly excited. He was well aware of how potent this ability could be if used properly.
After taking a few deep breaths, Long Xiaoshan calmed down a bit. Having endured three years of prison, his mindset was far more stable than the average young person's, and he wasn't about to get carried away with arrogance.
The next day.
Long Xiaoshan crawled out of bed, the sun was already shining on his buttocks, and he didn't know if it was because he had used his superpowers too much the night before, but he had somehow fallen into a deep sleep and slept so long.
Ever since he got this bottle, he had been sleeping much more than before.
Long Xiaoshan remembered that he was going to the county's job market today to look for work and hurriedly got dressed and went out.
"Brother, you're finally up," Long Xiaoling had been up early, watering the vegetables outside the door.
"Little Ling, we will set off in a bit, I'm going to see Mom first," Long Xiaoshan ran into the inner room, where He Xiangyue was sitting on the bed, moving her left foot continuously. Seeing Long Xiaoshan coming in, she said in surprise, "Little Xiaoshan, look, Mom's leg can move."
"Mom, don't be in a rush, let me check it first."
Long Xiaoshan quickly but gently restrained He Xiangyue; this was the first time he had prepared Bone-Regeneration Powder, and he didn't know how effective it would be, but judging by He Xiangyue's complexion, it should be quite positive.
He unwrapped the bandages on He Xiangyue's left leg and carefully observed it, and felt around a bit. It seemed much better, but after all, the broken bones were inside, and only an X-ray could reveal the true condition.
Suddenly, a light bulb went off in Long Xiaoshan's mind; hadn't he just acquired Clairvoyance the night before?
He wondered if it would work now.
Thinking of this, Long Xiaoshan concentrated his mind and looked towards He Xiangyue's injured leg.
Nobody noticed that Long Xiaoshan's eyes emitted a faint silver light, and soon the meridians and bones of He Xiangyue's injured leg appeared before Long Xiaoshan's eyes; it worked!
Long Xiaoshan was stunned and felt his vision blur as the image became fuzzy. He quickly focused his mind and carefully observed the situation.
To his amazement, upon examining her, he found that all of He Xiangyue's bones had grown back.
It had only been one night, after all, and the growth of broken bones is quite slow—normally taking several months to fully heal.
He had not expected the Bone-Regeneration Powder to be so incredibly potent.
What on earth was the medical book that Elder Chang had given him?
One could only imagine the sensation the Bone-Regeneration Powder would cause if it were taken out to the public—it would be nothing short of Divine Medicine for treating bones.
After observing carefully, Long Xiaoshan withdrew his Clairvoyance power. Seeing Long Xiaoshan look up, He Xiangyue promptly asked, "Little Xiaoshan, how is Mom's leg?"
"Mom, your leg is healing very well. If you apply another dose of the medicine, I think you should be able to walk in two or three days." To be on the safe side, even though He Xiangyue's recovery was impressive, Long Xiaoshan had decided to use one more dose of the medicine, she was, after all, his mother.
Moved by excitement, He Xiangyue said, "That fast, I'll be able to walk in a couple of days?"
"Yes," Long Xiaoshan nodded affirmatively.
He Xiangyue excitedly hugged her son, "Still, our little Xiaoshan is the best, whatever you do, you outshine the others. That Wang the Cripple from the village even said I would have to lay in bed for half a year, and that I would limp even after healing. That damn cripple, he just can't stand to see others doing well now that he's crippled himself."
Long Xiaoshan knew Wang the Cripple was a lousy Barefoot Doctor who had even killed someone with his treatments before, but unfortunately, the village was poor, and when someone got sick, they had no choice but to go to him.
After talking with He Xiangyue for a while, Long Xiaoshan came out of the house. Long Xiaoling was pouting, her slender toes twiddling in the ground outside, where she had been anxiously waiting.
Long Xiaoshan knew that little Ling had longed to go to the county and play; after all, she was a young girl, and being cooped up in this little mountain village was truly a waste of her youth.
"Let's go, little Ling, let's go into the city!"
