Chapter 318 Death Wish
Nevertheless, Jake used that to gain more power and decrease the influence of dungeons over the world. Eventually, even some people began to follow him since they shared the same thoughts. However, that wasn't the truth.
With his new strength, Jake began to get famous for his ruthlessness. While he made a lot of enemies along the way, the vast majority of them feared him exactly for that reason. When a dungeon master invaded Earth, he pushed their forces back and then went hunting the enemy until they were alongside their allies, completely annihilated.
The guild masters began to call him since he apparently was involved with innocent people from other worlds. Still, Jake believed that complacency was also something that everyone had to pay for. So, he ignored them.
Their relations became antagonistic after not so long. Even if Jake was obtaining results, they didn't believe that some things were worth sacrificing for. At times, they even openly got in his way. Jake tried to ignore them since they were a problem that still could be useful for the human cause. Still, eventually, Jake grew tired of that the moment he defeated a certain dungeon master, and then the leader of a bigger group stole the loot and then played dumb when he was contested about it.
The guild masters knew that the dungeon master that Jake had defeated had a powerful ice sword, and when the enemy fell, and then another guy appeared with that sword, things looked dubious. Still, in the end, it was Jake's words against that guy. Besides, behind the curtains, they assumed that Jake had amassed too much power, so that was probably for the best. Upon realizing their intentions, Jake went to deal with Diego and then killed him and his allies.
From that point onward, the guild masters decided to treat Jake like he was close to an enemy due to his ruthless nature, even toward humans. Many people from other groups tried to avenge Diego, and he killed them all. From his perspective, people like them who were that stupid were going to die soon anyway, so they didn't mind. One of the dungeon masters wanted to avenge Diego as well, but the others managed to calm her down. They devised another plan to deal with him.
When they noticed that Jake was going to become even stronger and more influential, the guild masters sent some of their underlings to join Jake's ranks. For an entire year, they tried to prevent most of the damage caused by Jake's actions, but they didn't get many results.
In the end, they scavenged that plan and tried to make Jake become a bit more relaxed and controllable by turning him into a ruler that had a castle and everything. While he had to do a lot of desk work, he still went around killing dungeon masters left and right instead of worrying about defending the lands that they had. Since they knew that Jake was only making Earth into a bigger target, they decided to attack his territory now and then to keep him occupied. However, the other guild masters grew tired of him… they weren't a kid's caretaker.
The guild masters of North America, South America, Asia, and Europe thought that they were doing a good job so far, but the guild masters of Oceania, Africa, and Europe thought that they should deal with him since he was a threat that would only keep causing problems to everyone. In the end, it resulted in the guild masters making their agents lure Jake to an ambush against all the guild masters…
In the end, Jake suffered enough injuries to put him out of commission for two weeks. However, all the enemy soldiers were killed by him, and the guild masters also suffered a lot of damage. So, they were forced to retreat… when Jake returned to his territory, a good part of his allies had left the city, and the other part was too scared to move since they were imagining that they would be hunted by him. Jake decided to dismiss everyone, but a few of them still stayed behind since the strength of someone that could fight all the guild masters by himself was something that they could rely on.
After a while, Jake faced Helena and defeated her. Then he obtained her Flames of Wrath. Still, he couldn't just hunt the other guild masters and then become the enemy of the entire human race. Even less so when they decided to prepare for his attack and moved to the same spot to fight together… they finally listened to his advice, but it was too late.
Jake had to stop for a while since he had to rebuild his army. Instead of focusing on humans, he welcomed many former enemies to his camp. Enemies that were from other worlds and species. Things only changed after a few months. An invasion of wyverns started on Earth, and they began to create bases on many spots all over the globe. Hugo and the other guild masters decided to face them since Jake was also busy with the enemies. However, four of the guild masters ignored their mission and went to attack Jake… one of them was a necromancer, and their goal was clear. They wanted Jake's corpse.
Jake's current base was located in the extreme south of Florida. Hundreds of wyverns were taking the south side of his base, and they have been doing that for the past week. Moreover, dragons were pretty smart, and despite their prideful nature, they decided to attack Jake's base several times before going all out.
Since he was getting tired of that, Jake considered chasing them, even though fighting in the ocean and without decent footing would be bad news for him. Still, while he was considering that. He noticed the arrival of some unexpected guests… they were Michel the necromancer, Leah, a famous brawler, Liu, the best spearman in the world, and Rhobat, an assassin that few people knew his face.
The last time he saw them had been during the ambush. So, that confused him. It was clear that they came for his head, but were they stupid enough to think that they could defeat him now when they failed before? They had a lot more allies, and while they could have become stronger, it was unlikely that they decreased the difference in power all that much.
"Are you guys stupid, or do you have a death wish?" Jake asked when he approached.
