Chapter 320 Lick My Boots
Jake couldn't understand how that worked since his mind was getting hazy and his body was getting cold. Still, he wished with all his might to close his wound, and that somehow worked.

Jake frowned when he felt the pain in his chest decreasing as the wound being healed… he wasn't recovering his blood, so he felt pretty weak, but at least he wasn't going to die anymore. Watching all that, there were the enemies with eyes wide open…
"Now it is your turn," Jake said.
The necromancer immediately summoned three dragon zombies and put them between Jake and himself, and the others began to run away as well. If he could do that, he should have done it from the beginning… but after thinking for a while, it was clear that they came up with some plan in mind, and they followed it to almost killing him. Regardless, Jake unleashed the mana and the dark flames on his sword toward the dragons, and much to his surprise, they resisted quite a bit, even though they eventually turned into dust… Still, they bought enough time for those three to escape. Or so they assumed.
Jake understood that the power of greed let him do a lot of things, but he had to pay the price… while looking at the enemies, he wished to bring them back to where they were, but nothing happened. It looked like he had to know how something could happen in order to happen… it was a convoluted thing, but he soon Jake got the hang of it, he wished to open a portal in front of the enemies that would connect to the spot right in front of him, and that happened.

The enemies opened their eyes widely when they suddenly saw Jake in front of them again. Meanwhile, he was showing a complicated expression while thinking about how expensively stupid it was to use that skill…
Although his arm was still numb, Leah didn't look like she wanted to fight. Since Liu didn't show anything weird until now, he probably didn't have a trick up his sleeve. Despite that, they fired numerous magic projectiles while they were moving away from him.
Since Jake couldn't move much, he just absorbed the energy of their attacks and the energy that he had recovered to attack the enemies, finishing them once and for all. This time, the necromancer used all his might to run away instead of using magic. At that point in time, it was clear that he didn't have much to use…
"They really aren't using their heads…" Jake swung the sword after he made another portal appear in front of him.

Jake frowned since it didn't look like Michel had died… he was pretty sure that he didn't have illusion spells, and he definitely was cut in half… unless he could survive in that state for long… or he turned himself into a zombie. In the end, Jake wouldn't fall for the trap of letting him go like that or just approach recklessly. He bombarded the location of the corpse with numerous mana blades until the body began to tremble and fall apart. He fired some bone spears at him, but he could only do so much without using his sin skill.

Limitless Sloth: while not moving or doing anything aside from using a single ability, you can recover the level of this skill multiplied by one hundred points of mana per second.
Jake lowered his head and then let out a weak sigh… he did it again, he killed some of the guys he admired… he did it in self-defense, and that wasn't the first time they tried to kill him, but he felt that at least he should feel a bit troubled for a couple of minutes.
Relieving those memories was really intense, to the point that Jake felt like taking a break, but he couldn't do that. He had to see everything… fortunately, he more or less could control the memories by watching a video and making them move a hundred times faster than normal and thus skip the boring parts.
After obtaining the power of those four, Jake had an easy time repelling the wyverns. The other guild masters left him alone since they were too busy, but he knew that they were stupid enough to try something again to avenge their friends… even though those friends were hiding things and acting behind their backs.
Still, that didn't happen for a long while… since they lost half of the guild masters, the humans that followed them found themselves without knowing what to do or who to follow. They joined the other bands, but things didn't improve much for them. Moreover, more powerful monsters began to invade Earth…
Alongside the wyvern, hydras also began to appear and they were tough as hell… Their regenerative ability was beyond annoying. As if things weren't trounlesome enough, the hidras came in many types. Fire, ice, zombie, dark… Jake had gotten a lot stronger over the last few months and he even had constant access to dragon hearts, but that hadn't been enough to save him from a hard time.
With each of those battles, humans began to lose more and more allies. Jake wasn't an exception of them. He always led the attach to show how his underlings should fight, but many of them ran away even before the fight started. Eventually, he stopped caring if anyone would help him or not. Thanks to that, without being helped by him, his army began to decrease in size even further… More people began to abandon him in the middle of the fight…
When the situation got critic, the guild masters decided to bow their heads and ask Jake to work together for the sake of preservation of the human race. In the end, Jake only smiled gently before giving his answer.
"No," Jake said. "For all that I care, you all can die. Our species is coward and show their true colors at first sign of trouble, perhaps we should go extinct."
"Jake… We had our differences in the past, but there are more important things to consider now than our past," Hugo said.
"You weren't always like this, Jake… Be better than that," Frederick said.
"Don't wanna," Jake said and then shrugged. "That being said, I might consider my options if you bend your knee and lick my boots, all of you."
Hugo, Frederick, and Milena looked at each other with a serious glint in their eyes. Although they tried to play it cool, Jake could have felt their bloodlust from miles away. It was clear that asking for his help was their last act of desperation, and if they couldn't join forces, all of the human race would be doomed. Still, Jake couldn't feel a single thing toward his species anymore. He had all the reasons to completely disregard the life of the thousand people in front of him.
It was hard to know how many of those in there had once targeted his life. Even if the number were small, it would be enough reason for Jake to ignore all of them. If they die, the reason would be their complacency…
In the end, Hugo decided to have just one bit more of satisfaction. He charged toward Jake and then swung his sword at his head in the blink of an eye. The sword strike was blocked by his own weapon but still sent Jake flying to the distance… The power of Pride Incarnate… As long as Hugo doesn't doubt his actions, he could become several times stronger.
Before he could even begin to fall, a massive barrage of arrows was fired toward Jake. Even in that condition, he managed to block those with his sword, but he still was pushed back toward his city. Eventually, even a massive earth spear was fired at him, and it looked like that certainly killed him. Still, Jake blocked the attack while he was sent to the distance.
Jake probably was going to travel like that for a while, so Hugo, Frederick, and Milena began to move toward the city. They needed to cooperate with the survivors there to have any chance of survival. However, much to their surprise, Jake was back in the blink of an eye. He was holding his sword and making it rest on his right shoulder as if nothing had happened.
Those three clenched their teeth, they didn't hold back, and their attacks could easily kill dragons, but to think that they wouldn't even scratch a single human being… In the end, Frederick made a bunch of earth emerge from the ground and pushed Jake downward. When only his head was exposed, Jake charged and attacked his head.
