Congratulations! The skill Mana Blade has leveled up.
Congratulations! The skill Swordsmanship has leveled up.
Jake dealt a lot of damage by blinding one eye of the monster, but it seemed that things wouldn't get easier after that. Before the creature could even get used to the pain, it charged toward Jake even faster than before. In the end, Jake just clenched his teeth and used Defense Mode since the girls were close behind, and the boss certainly could kill them in a hit or two. Somehow, Jake wasn't thrown away by the impact, but he's already hurt arm began to throb even more after that.
Using that opportunity, Louise fired another extra-large fireball toward the monster, and the creature got hit by it. Despite the fact that some damage had been caused, the boss didn't pay attention to it, and the giant wolf was only looking at Jake, showing its pure hatred. Jake would shrug if he could, but keeping his guard from dropping was the only thing he could do with his left arm right now…
Since that was the case, the monster realized that it could make Jake drop his guard without taking any chances. So, the creature fired several Ice Spears toward him. Each projectile pushed him backward several meters, and eventually, he reached the girls. Lana and Louise used health potions to recover his health, but they knew that it wouldn't solve the whole situation. Louise had a certain idea, but she felt like it was too risky since she had never tried anything like it. Still, she couldn't think of anything else she could do to increase their chances of victory.
Once Jake's health increased, he dashed toward the monster while hiding his head behind the kite shield. He could see that the beast was using a lot of mana to fire those Ice Spears, so he decided to taunt the creature and make it lose all of its mana. He also did that because the more mana a projectile has, the more mana Louise can steal. Besides, Jake could tell that she was up to something since he could feel the temperature increasing in the room.
"Lana, please use all of your buffs on me," Louise said.
"You need even the physical ones?" Lana frowned. "What for?"
"I will be able to concentrate more if all my status is higher," Louise replied.
Lana could see two Fireballs growing above them, and Louise was the one controlling them. She knew that she could hold a projectile and increase its power before firing it, but she didn't know if she could do the same with more than one. Creating a single oversized Fireball would require too much focus from her, so when one of the Fireballs became bigger than her, she went ahead and created another. Using those attacks one at a time wouldn't cause enough damage to make the monster dizzy for more than an instant, so that was why she decided to stop attacking and then focus on doing that. Thanks to it, Jake was having a hard time dealing with the boss, he couldn't even approach it, but that was fine since the stupid monster was helping Louise.
While Jake clenched his teeth and tried to charge at the monster, he glared at the creature. He was also pretty annoyed since he couldn't do his usual fighting. Still, he could at least try. Eventually, after looking at his eyes for so long, the monster's rage began to decrease. Even more so when Jake, despite his wounds, began to slowly approach the creature relying on his willpower alone since he didn't get that stronger in the middle of the fight.
Congratulations! The skill Health Bonus has leveled up.
At that point in time, Jake couldn't even feel his left arm anymore. The game sure was realistic when it came to certain levels of pain, but instead of fearing the pain, Jake felt even more eager to endure it and then made the enemy feel the same. Facing that willpower, the boss began to slowly retreat at the same pace Jake was advancing. While the creature certainly had the upper hand in close and long-ranged combat, it lost the battle of wits against Jake. Thanks to all that, the monster noticed too late that Louise had been preparing one heck of an attack in the last few minutes.
Louise had created five extra-large Fireballs, and she was already sweating bullets to keep the spells from dispersing. As for Lana, she was sweating due to the heat emitted by the projectiles. Louise fired them with all her might, and then she fell on her butt due to the mental strain. The monster had retreated too much to be able to dodge the attacks now, so the creature raised several Ice Walls to block the Fireballs. However, the beast only succeeded in creating one since Jake bombarded its face with Mana Blades and the pain made the monster unable to control its magical powers. That bought enough time for the Fireballs to hit the boss and the explosions caused made the entire dungeon vibrate and also pushed Jake several meters backward.
Even before the smoke and mist could disappear, Jake dashed toward the monster. In the end, he found the creature half-burned, but it was still alive while unconscious on the ground. Without a hint of hesitation, Jake attacked the monster's head several times with the tip of his katana. While he could have caused a lot more damage and finished the monster by attacking its damaged eye, Jake went for the forehead. Despite that, it didn't take long for him to reach the brain of the beast and cause critical damage after critical damage.
You obtained 15.000 coins.
When Jake heard that notification, he pierced the monster's head one last time, and he did so with all his might… that boss had been a real pain in the ass, and while Jake accumulated a lot of stress due to the damage he suffered. He also felt pretty accomplished and satisfied with the whole battle… Still, it seemed that things weren't over yet.
