Chapter 98 Danger (1)
"It seems like a pretty nice place," Lana said. " I am surprised that you managed to build it in less than two months."
"I actually didn't do anything, our guild master was the one who organized all this in a single month," Clark said. "Anyway , do you want to go hunting on a easy place to kill time until our guild master arrives? When I told him about you guys he got really interested since it isn't everyday that you find a small party that managed to reach these parts."
"I think I am going to pass," Jake replied. "So, you guys trade items with others or might be interested in selling and buying things?"
"Yes, we do that, but since the coins of the taxes stay with the guild master, only him can buy and sell items," Clark said. "Come on, I promise that he will be back by noon. Besides, I promised him that if you guys were to come while he is away, I would help you kill time. He was really interested in your party, particularly in you, Jake. He is also a front line who can take a lot of hits and attack and people like you two are rare."
"Well, you will have to forgive me, but…" Jake said.
"We might as well stay here for a while longer to help someone who helped us this much," Lana said. "It is because of him that mission ended fast, after all."
Jake sighed. While Lana was right, apparently, she couldn't understand that Clark also benefited from that. Not to mention, she wasn't cautious enough to understand that several things seemed off about that place. Apparently, Louise caught those things. Still, Jake thought that he might as well see the guild master and confirm everything.
"All right then…" Jake said and then sighed. "Let's kill some time until your guild master arrives. However, I want to go and face the salamanders."
"Hmm… I think those are a bit too much for a party of four," Clark said and then rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "If you want some edible meat, I think hunting some giant rabbits will be better, their attacks are heavy, but they can't use magic."
Rabbits… it didn't seem like a bad idea to get some meat from them. Even though Jake wanted to eat something naturally spicy, he couldn't do that all the time.
"Can we buy some knives from your blacksmiths to dismantle them?" Jake asked.
"I will get those, some that won't lose their edge too easily," Clark said. "Wait for me here."
Once Clark left them alone, Jake looked at Lana reproachfully. She really needed to use her head a little before opening her mouth. Still, she didn't get why Jake looked like he wanted to complain.
"What should we do now, Jake?" Louise asked.
"I am not really planning to join this guild, but I suppose having an amicable relationship with them might be beneficial," Jake replied. "If possible."
"Do you think the guild master might hold a grudge if we refuse his offer?" Louise asked.
"It is possible…" Jake crossed his arms and then replied. "Still, unless he is too dumb, he knows that having a good relationship with us might benefit his guild as well. I am sure that selling out items to the highest buyer is the best option, if we obtain some rare items."
"Aww… you two are really something else," Lana said after a long sigh. "This is a golden opportunity to obtain a roof and an actual bed to sleep in between missions, but you two are too busy trying to look for problems in this place."
After a couple of minutes, Clark returned with some knives. It seemed that they were special. While they didn't grant skills or status, their durability was extremely high. Like 100/100. It will take a while for them to lose their edge…
Once that was done, Clark teleported them to another planet. However, much to their surprise, they found those giant rabbits and also some Velociraptors.

"What the hell… dinosaurs?" Jake said, visibly in shock.
"There are dungeons that spawn them, we can also find pterodactyls apparently, I never went on a mission to hunt them, though," Clark said. "In any case, the rabbits are the natural habitants of this planet, but even though they multiply fast, we need to come here and hunt the velociraptors now and then, otherwise, they will exterminate the rabbits."
Eventually, some velociraptors noticed their presence and began to run toward them. However, Clark and Louise quickly finished them off by hitting their heads. The velociraptors were pretty fast, but thanks to their viciousness, they were easy to kill. One just had to Aim for their heads.
"Can we use their skin or claws for something?" Lana asked.
"Yes, they can be used, but only our blacksmiths know what for, though," Clark replied.
"Let's not waste space inside the magic box with things we don't know when we will be able to use."
Although rabbits were supposed to be peaceful creatures, some of them began to jump toward the group. They sure had some leg power because even though they were like almost one meter long, they could jump five meters high. When one of them got close enough, it jumped horizontally toward Jake. Although he only planned to block the monster, the attack had been so powerful that the creature died and still pushed Jake several meters backward.
