Chapter 8
C8 – The Domineering Power
“Profound Level martial skill, Thundering Sword! Senior Sister Zhou Qin, you’re serious!”
Zu Nan and Sunn Tang exchanged a glance, each seeing the shock reflected in the other’s eyes.
“He’s done for this time!” they declared, stepping aside so as not to interfere with Zhou Qin’s assault.
Facing a formidable foe, Jiaang Lin’s maximum level dodge skill had reached thrice the speed of sound. Even if Zhou Qin’s swordplay was twice as fast, Jiaang Lin could effortlessly sidestep to safety.
Dodge, activate!
Zhou Qin unleashed three sword strikes, each targeting a different part of Jiaang Lin’s body with extreme precision and ferocity.
Jiaang Lin narrowed his eyes, a hint of irritation in his heart, and spoke with an icy tone, “Don’t push me!”
With those words, Jiaang Lin’s movements became even more nimble, turning into a blur of afterimages before the astonished trio. He effortlessly evaded Zhou Qin’s attack and then fixed them with a chilling stare.
Zhou Qin and her companions had not anticipated Jiaang Lin’s ability to dodge the Thundering Sword, a Profound Level Martial Skill. Stunned, they stood frozen in place, including Zhou Qin herself.
“How is this possible?!” Zu Nan exclaimed, eyes wide with disbelief.
“He actually dodged Senior Sister Zhou Qin’s attack!” Sunn Tang shouted, equally astounded.
Zhou Qin’s face darkened as she shot a cold glare at Zhu Rong and snapped, “No one asked for your silence!”
“This time, we three will attack together, and we won’t hold back!” Zhou Qin said menacingly to Jiaang Lin.
“Do you still wish to engage?”
Now, Jiaang Lin was genuinely enraged. After being taunted and targeted for so long, anyone would lose their temper, especially someone as human as he was.
”It’s too late now,” Jiaang Lin said with a cold smirk, a glint of frost in his gaze.
“Domination!”
Jiaang Lin stood with his hands clasped behind his back, exuding an invisible, supreme aura that swept over the trio like an unseen tempest.
In their eyes, Jiaang Lin had suddenly transformed into a sovereign emperor, his wild aura and commanding presence instilling an involuntary desire to bow before him.
In a split second, Zhou Qin and her two companions were overwhelmed as if struck by lightning. It felt as though their brains had been hammered, and in a flash, darkness overtook them. They collapsed, bleeding from every orifice, their fates uncertain.
As they hit the ground, the formidable presence emanating from Jiaang Lin vanished without a trace.
Staring at the three figures lying stiffly, blood oozing from their orifices, Jiaang Lin was taken aback. He hastily queried the system, “System, did the Overbearing skill just kill them outright?!”
The Overbearing skill was designed to render enemies unconscious and inflict soul damage. Typically, if they ever recovered, they’d be left in a vegetative state.
Vegetative state?!
Jiaang Lin shuddered at the system’s explanation. He had initially believed the Overbearing skill lacked the potency of a maximum level skill and was somewhat dissatisfied with its effects.
But now, his perspective had shifted. The ability to incapacitate enemies and reduce them to a vegetative state was undeniably a potent skill—ideal for self-preservation, evasion, or even as a formidable offensive tactic.
Consider the implications: in combat, if the Overbearing skill was unleashed, even a warrior a full realm above him could be reduced to a vegetative state. Wouldn’t that grant him the freedom to act as he pleased?
Yet, Jiaang Lin reconsidered. If he relied solely on the Overbearing skill, what purpose would his journey to this world serve?
It was akin to playing a video game where, upon starting, he was already the most powerful player, capable of vanquishing any foe with a single strike. Where was the challenge in that?
Who could truly understand the solitude of invincibility?
