Chapter 8: The Internet Could Do This Too?
"Master, the Felix School of Magic seems to have banned their students from logging into the Internet," Rosia brought up the topic gingerly.
Given her character, she definitely wouldn't have said that a few days prior.
She would hide in her abode and pretend she didn't know anything.
But this day, she still decided to gather her courage and speak up.
It was all because she suddenly discovered life had become much more interesting after her Master launched the "Forum" function.
She also discovered she couldn't go on without the Internet!
She definitely wouldn't have believed this at the time when the Master was launching the Internet.
However, such was the fact.
Ever since the Internet came to be, she was able to find out what was going on in the world and know many interesting people and their stories, even when she was alone in a castle that was drifting in the dimensional gap.
She even saw a hint of herself in the countless life experiences that she had come across.
She suddenly felt that life was still full of hope because she had seen so many unfortunate people who were still striving hard in life.
Especially the students of the Felix School of Magic. They even gave her a sense of presence!
She seemed to be famous after winning against a Felix student in a debate.
There were students constantly asking her about magical knowledge. Naturally, she was answering every single question since she usually was bored out of her mind.
Even though her attainments seemed to be at the Mage Instructor's level, thanks to having served under the influence of Don the Magical Deity, her practical knowledge was almost at the Magical Deity level.
Hence, she had answered the students with a foresight that ordinary people didn't have.
Many people were even addressing her as "Instructor Young" on the forum by then!
There were even some mage apprentices trying to find out her identity so they could become her official students.
That feeling of being sought after and admired was simply marvelous!
It was like warm sunshine in winter, and cuddly like a kitten.
So, how could she not care about the Felix students?
For that very reason she still decided to give it a try, knowing that she could anger her new master.
Yu Sheng'an remained silent for a long time after she pointed out the problem.
Rosia lifted her head to look at her master carefully; she saw him resting on the throne without any expression.
The elementium around him began to gather and form a sticky yet powerful halo. It was awe-inspiring to see that!
Rosia lowered her head and reminded him softly again, "Master Are you going to do something about it?"
"What can I do? Demolish the school?"
Yu Sheng'an didn't open his eyes while he spoke with a calm voice, but he still made Rosie's body jolt; her expression dimmed.
Demolish?
As if that would ever happen!
There was a reason why the Queville Empire was still able to maintain its magical lineage even when it was surrounded by the Five Main Righteous Deities.
It was only The Felix School of Magic that banned its students from using the divine skill and not the entire country, so it wasn't worthwhile for Yu Sheng'an to get into an altercation with them.
Rosia guessed the crux easily.
"Rosia has asked for too much!" Her expression dimmed as she bowed and prepared to leave.
"You care for the students at Felix that much?" Yu Sheng'an suddenly asked.
"Yes," Rosia admitted that readily, "Rosia loves the new job assigned by Master. I feel that my magical knowledge is enriched whenever I interact with these young people to talk about magic."
"Young people? How old are you? I mean your actual age."
"Hmm?" Rosia was taken aback. Blushing, she mumbled, "I was transformed into a spirit when I died at seventeen years of age. It's already been sixteen years since then."
"Thirty-three years old!" Yu Sheng'an lamented.
So what is this? A Lolita's body with the heart of a mature lady?
Panicked, Rosia rebutted subconsciously, "Of course not I'm only seventeen years old."
"Mm-hm. I know. Forever seventeen." Yu Sheng'an simply agreed as if he had done it many times before. "Oh yes, how did you die?"
"My cousin pretended to be a bandit and stormed the castle for the aristocratic title. I transformed myself into a spirit before I died," Rosia answered calmly.
"I'm sorry to bring up your sad past."
"It's fine. It's all in the past."
"Then, how did you meet Don?"
"Master Don happened to pass by and he decided to take me in when he saw that I had a pure soul power."
Yu Sheng'an nodded and changed the topic, "What do you think about the actions of the Felix School of Magic?"
"The schools of magic are the core of the Queville Empire. Master, you have encroached into their core interests, so it isn't surprising to see them react like this."
"What do you think I should do?"
Rosia bit her lower lip before speaking, "There's a reason why the Queville Empire has thrived even while being surrounded by the Five Main Righteous Deities. Rosia believes that Master should spread the divine skill in a peaceful manner. It is better not to engage them with hostility."
A hint of confusion flashed across her eyes as she said that.
I didn't come over for this, right?
When did I change my way of thinking?
"A peaceful manner is indeed better at dissolving hostile situations! However, if we give them five cities today and ten cities tomorrow, one day we would have nothing left. This is not what I want to see; we would be despised by our enemies and slowly eliminated if we cozy up to them without a bottom line."
Yu Sheng'an had a cold look in his eyes.
Hewho hailed from a 5000-year-old culturedidn't have to guess what the Felix School of Magic was thinking. He had too many historical cases that could be used as reference.
Regardless if it was a test or a warning, Yu Sheng'an was not going to give up the Felix students.
Looking at it at a small scale, these were more than a thousand high quality users.
When seen at a bigger scale, this was a landmark event. If he took one step back at this time, he would have to take countless steps back in the future!
If he couldn't even handle a tiny school of magic, how was he going to infiltrate into the other deities' mission districts?
Rosia was stunned.
She couldn't completely understand her Master's words, but she could still grasp its underlying meaning.
"What do you intend to do, Master?" Rosia asked, feeling very confused.
On one hand, she hoped that the Felix students could access the Internet forum freely
On the other hand, she didn't want Master to have an altercation with Felix because of those students.
Before she could complete her thoughts, the Internet Ring suddenly flashed and a message popped into her mind.
That was the Internet update notification.
She activated the Internet Divine Skill instinctively and her eyes widened when she saw the Internet's new features. She immediately looked at Yu Sheng'an with disbelief and shock in her eyes!
The Internet could do this too?
The Felix School of Magic. It was a mess in the classroom of the sophomores' magical engraving class.
"Are you mad, Delois?!"
"Please don't be offended, Instructor Brad. Delois has been influenced. He he didn't mean that."
Delois' good friends were pulling him back and talking sense to him while apologizing to the Instructor on his behalf at the same time.
Delois had publicly questioned the Felix School of Magic's standard of teaching during the magical engraving lesson. He had confronted the Instructor and asked him for the reason why they had not told them about the Abis Formula.
They had decided to simplify this knowledge just because the majority of the people would never enter the realm of the Mage Instructors?
Even so, they should have informed the students about that. Even if they don't explain the Abis Formula explicitly, right?
Brad, given his status as a Mage Instructor, couldn't take Delois's doubts lying down.
He lectured him right away, "Does the school belong to your family? Are we your parents? It's fine that you don't appreciate us imparting our magical knowledge to you, but are you challenging the authority of Felix by questioning us publicly?"
That rebuttal left Delois at a loss for words straight away.
If Yu Sheng'an were present, he could have easily offered a retort: "You dare to set up a school with the objective to educate people, but you don't dare to admit your mistakes. So is it worthwhile to educate people if you don't practice what you preach?"
It was a pity that Delois, as one of the earliest netizens, obviously didn't possess the qualities of a keyboard warrior.
His face flushed before he yelled, "This is such a lousy school! I quit!"
It was that single sentence that caused the classroom to erupt into an uproar.
One could say that this had never happened in the history of the school of magic!
Only the school had expelled students. Never had a student fired the school.
"All right, all right, all right!" a flustered and exasperated Instructor Brad pointed at Delois and said, "Don't think that you can do anything you like just because you are a magical genius! This world has never had a lack of geniuses. Let's see whether the other schools of magic accept you after you leave Felix!"
"It's fine even if there are no schools! I can still cultivate magic even without a school of magic!" Delois yelled.
"Ha! Are you pinning your hopes on that Internet?" Brad sneered. "I admit that there are many experts there. But so what? Can you differentiate which of those pieces of knowledge is correct? And how can you be sure that those experts aren't simply showing off because they're bored? How can you be sure that every single one of your questions will be answered?"
Brad banged on the table and said very confidently, "Take a good look. How many mage instructors attain their statuses by self-cultivation? And how many grand mage instructors did it without a magic legacy? If mage instructors could be groomed with just a few books, there would be hundreds of lackeys serving the Five Main Righteous Deities now and the Queville Empire would have never existed."
Delois paled upon hearing that.
He had to admit that Brad was correct.
Magic was a rigorous science. It wasn't a subject that one could master just by having a good grasp of a few advanced formulas.
It needed to be learned and accumulated little by little from the very basics.
Especially for the inner-cultivation magical engravings. Without a senior's guidance, the price would be extremely steep when things went awry.
Rage had robbed him of all reason!
His reputation had been seriously tarnished after he lost the debate. He had been a genius and the center of attention ever since he was young. It was extremely difficult for him to withstand that humiliation.
He hated that he was proud and had to show off; he also hated that the Felix School of Magic had deliberately withheld the advanced magical knowledge.
Thus, such a scene came to pass this day.
He thought the instructors would give in to him as usual. But, he had no idea that even a genius like him was insignificant when he went against the collective interests of the school.
Right at this momentthe Internet Divine Skill he had secretly engraved on the inside of his magic wand suddenly flashed and a message flowed into his mind.
His whole person jolted before suddenly bursting into laughter.
"Hahaha"
"What are you laughing about?" Brad was taken aback.
"Is he going crazy?"
"Delois, apologize to the instructor right now!"
His classmates around him erupted into a commotion.
"I am laughing at your trite arguments and inability to repent! Can you see what this is?" Delois shouted loudly before activating the Internet Divine Skill right then. An illusory scroll appeared in the classroom.
The students looked toward it instinctively and they saw that there was an additional icon on the scroll!
"What is that?"
"Online classes?"
