Chapter 722 Plan B?
Villain Ch 722. Plan B?
Allen sat alone at a corner table in the bustling tavern of Ront City, surrounded by the chatter and laughter of other players. A huff of frustration escaped his lips as he glanced around the room, taking in the animated conversations and speculative whispers that filled the air.
In front of him sat a steaming mug of herbal honey tea, its warm aroma wafting up to his nose. It wasn't his usual choice of drink, but he needed something to occupy his hands and distract his thoughts as he waited for the girls to come online.
Despite the lively atmosphere of the tavern, Allen couldn't shake the feeling of restlessness that gnawed at him. Everywhere he turned, players were engrossed in discussions about the ongoing drama surrounding the Order of Valiance guild.
Speculations ran rampant, ranging from logical and realistic assessments of the situation to wild and unfounded theories. Some debated the motives and actions of the guild leaders, while others indulged in sensationalized rumors and gossip.
"I wonder if I should go with plan B," Allen muttered, his brow furrowed in contemplation as he took another sip of his tea. The thought of killing his target in the middle of the city lingered in his mind, but he knew he had to tread carefully, especially in a crowded place like Ront City.
As he pondered his options, two players approached his table, their voices breaking through his thoughts. "Are these seats empty?" one of them asked, their tone casual.
Allen glanced up to see Noah and James standing before him, their expressions friendly and relaxed. He raised an eyebrow in surprise, not expecting to see them here after their recent encounter. Nevertheless, he nodded in response to their question, gesturing to the empty seats opposite him.
"Yeah, feel free to take a seat," Allen replied, his voice calm and composed despite the faint hint of curiosity in his tone. He watched as Noah and James settled into their chairs, exchanging a quick glance between them.
Noah flashed Allen a friendly smile, his eyes bright with amusement. "Didn't expect to run into you here," he remarked, his tone light. Of course, they did this to fix Mila's mistake.
James nodded in agreement, a playful glint in his eyes. "Yeah, small world, huh?" he added, chuckling softly.
Allen couldn't help but smirk at their casual demeanor, despite the tension that still lingered between them. It was a stark contrast to their last encounter.
"Yeah, it's certainly unexpected," Allen replied, offering them a nod. He took another sip of his tea.
"Let me guess, you came here to find out what happened between Sophia and Elio?" Noah started their conversation, his tone tinged with curiosity.
Allen glanced at them, a faint smirk playing on his lips. "No, I came here to rest. I've heard enough information about that on forums and in the market. All players are talking about it," he said with a huff, leaning back in his chair.
"Yes, our guild has become popular overnight," James chimed in, his voice dripping with pride as he spread his arms wide in a casual gesture. A smug smile danced on his lips, evident of his satisfaction.
Experience tales with empire
"That's not something to be proud of, James," Noah interjected, shaking his head disapprovingly as he reached over to tap James' shoulder.
James chuckled, shrugging off Noah's admonishment. "Bad publicity is still publicity, ya know?" he retorted in a joking tone, his grin widening at his own cleverness. "Even though our guild rank has dropped for the time being, I'm sure a lot of players will get to know us more," he added, his confidence unwavering.
"Just hope it will get better," Noah remarked with a resigned sigh, his expression reflecting a hint of concern. He leaned back in his chair, running a hand through his hair as he contemplated the situation.
"So? What do you want to talk about?" Allen asked, getting straight to the point. It felt odd for them to approach him without any apparent purpose.
"Relax. We just want to hang out," James replied nonchalantly, flashing a carefree smile.
"Yeah, with all of this drama, it looks like we'll have a hard time hunting today. People will come up to us and ask us this and that," Noah chimed in, his tone laced with resignation. It was evident that they were already feeling the effects of the guild's newfound notoriety.
"I can imagine that. It's going to be tough," Allen agreed. "So you decided to go for a walk today?" he asked, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
"Yes," James replied with a nod, flashing a grin. "Besides, we just went through an intense war yesterday. So taking one day to rest shouldn't be a problem. Playing games isn't just about grinding or leveling, right? It's also about socializing and enjoying the community."
Noah chuckled, nodding in agreement. "True. Sometimes we get so caught up in the grind that we forget to just take a step back and enjoy the game for what it is."
"Exactly!" James chimed in, nodding emphatically. "It's all about finding that balance between work and play. And today, we're definitely leaning more towards the play side of things."
"Couldn't have said it better myself," Allen agreed, taking a sip of his tea. He had to admit it was refreshing to spend time with friends outside of the usual gaming routine.
Noah glanced at Allen with a sly grin. "So, Allen, you've been pretty quiet about all this drama with the Order of Valiance and Elio. Got any burning questions you wanna throw our way?"
Allen raised an eyebrow, catching onto Noah's bait. He shook his head nonchalantly. "Nah, not really. I'm not too interested in all that drama."
James chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "Come on, Allen. Are you sure you don't have anything you wanna ask?"
Allen shrugged, feigning disinterest. "Nah, I'm good. I figure if something important happens, I'll hear about it eventually."
Noah exchanged a knowing look with James, their expressions hinting at their amusement. "Suit yourself," Noah said with a shrug. "But you know we're always here if you wanna chat about it."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Allen nodded, offering them a small smile. "Thanks, guys. But for now, I'm just gonna enjoy my tea and take a break from all the drama."
*Bad publicity still a publicity means it is better that something receives bad publicity than no publicity at all.
