Chapter 126: Time To Go Out
After getting the damage to the room fixed due to Milia's periods, their group decided to pay for the water and electricity next, which cost 02 Ventis Credits. It would only work for a single day, and then they would need to pay again. Still, that was enough for now.
Suddenly, Alvin had an idea. "Linfel, how about the Magic Stones. Can we sell them?" Alvin knew Linfel had over a hundred High-Quality Red Magic Stones in his Spatial Storage. They bought it together after getting all the Universal Credits from those criminals back in Serfen Planet.
Linfel quickly opened his MCOM and looked for it. Surprisingly, Red Magic Stones could be sold for ten Ventis Credits each. However, there was a rule and made them helpless. Only Magic Stones with the Ventis Sect Magic Signature could be commercialized. Let's not forget that even back in the Academy, the Magic Stones were already marked, so one would always know where it came from.
That was to prevent any improper use by the students, and it wasn't different here in the Ventis Sect.
They quickly opened the rules in the Ventis Sect app, finding out that any disciple caught buying or selling Magic Stones not approved by the Sect would be immediately banished from the Ventis Sect.
"Perhaps we can use them to trade directly with the Maguses and Familiars," Linfel gave the idea. "It would still be risky, though."
Alvin and Milia shook their heads. "No, we better not push our luck. It is obvious the Ventis Sect wants to push us to the breaking point with all these restrictions."
"We can still use them for leveling... although we can't do that now. We have to pass the Magic Control Test that happens every month. Otherwise, we will also be banished," Linfel commented.
"Alright, let's go out and use the rest of our Ventis Sect Credits to buy food," Nori spoke from there. "We can use Linfel's Spatial Storage to keep it and go out to do the missions. Let's take as many contracts as we can so we can make a living for now."
"Agreed!" No one had complaints.
They looked for the cheapest food out there and spent the rest of the Ventis Credits. Milia and Alvin were the only ones who needed it, so they got enough for five days if they rationed. Besides, Linfel checked the network and found more about foraging. Since they were going to enter a Magic Beast Territory, they might as well look for food there.
They could even cook the Magic Beasts' meat, so it wasn't that big of a problem.
In the end, they accepted four different contracts. The first one was obviously the contract for delivery to the settlements in a nearby Magic Beast forest called Lungan Forest. The delivery would pay them five credits, but since Linfel, Milia, Alvin, and Nori took a contract each, they were able to take for packages. There was only one rule. The package had to be delivered in perfect condition.
Any damage would make that mission invalid.
Obviously, such a problem didn't exist. They simply threw everything into Linfel's Spatial Storage. It was a separate dimensional attached to Linfel's core, so nothing would happen inside.
Following that, they took contracts related to Magic Beast Cores for the same area. The strongest Magic Beasts in there were at Level Five, but they were quite rare as the Ventis Sect kept tight control. Most were at Level Three or Four. Linfel's group is all at Level Three, but that Forest was the easiest place to go.
That made sense since you couldn't join the Ventis Sect if you weren't at least at Level Three anyway.
The other two contracts were related to herb collection and Magic Beast Materials. They had to acquire a certain amount and trade bade for Ventis Credit. Once they got everything, they returned to their room and rested. Their electricity and water would last only a single day, so they also took their showers and washed the only clothes they had on their bodies...
using the idea of one staying in the toilet while the other stayed naked in the room during the washing time. One might wonder if they hadn't fallen for a scam when they joined the Ventis Sect instead...
Finally, Milia and Alvin went to sleep, which wasn't very easy. There was one bed, and although Alvin offered to sleep on the floor, Milia refused to accept that. Nori, to make sure nothing would happen, stayed right in between the two while they slept. 'Hmph! Let me see if you dare take advantage of this situation with me here,' he thought to himself, feeling proud.
The next day quickly arrived as Linfel passed his night studying about the Ventis Sect rules. There were many, and they were all focused on making the lives of the new disciples as hard as possible. Linfel's group was already lucky that they stuck together to share the costs and had Linfel's Spatial Storage.
Usually, one is checked when they get to the planet to make sure they aren't bringing anything with them. For example, the sect prevents Magic Stones from coming inside. It didn't matter if you used your Universal Credits to buy something from some other planet to be delivered in the Ventis Sect. It would never make it to the hands of the disciples.
'They truly are trying to make the disciples go out of the cities and kill each other...' Linfel thought about it. 'Alvin and Milia didn't talk about it, but they aren't idiots. They know that even if we took contracts that had nothing to do with other disciples, chances are we will bump in some of them during our time out. Well, we will see what happens.'
The electricity and water stopped working in the early morning, just as they expected. They didn't care, though. They were ready to go out anyway. Using their MCOMs, they selected the best route and left through the south side of the city. Thousands of Maguses and Familiars could be seen coming and going from the city, which was to be expected.
However, Linfel's group stood out quite a bit. After all, they were at level Three, and Level Three disciples were rarely accepted. All they could do was ignore the eyes on them and run into the distance. It was time to experience the dangers of the Ventis Sect.
