Rein waited for a full five minutes before the bald bruiser finally arrived with five men in tow.

"Boss, this kid thought he could outrun our gang's 'precious', what a fool! Now he's surrounded, hahaha."

"Yeah, boss, this brat dared to run, shall we break his legs first?" one of the gang members said with a snarl, waving a thick wooden stick.

"Kid, weren't you quite the runner? Why aren't you running now?"

At that moment, the bald bruiser glanced disdainfully at Rein and said, "Brat, why run at the sight of us?"

"Tell me, where did Blackbeard go?"

The bald man's barrage of questions instantly confirmed all of Rein's speculations.

As expected, they were members of the Hyena Gang.

Two of the spotted hyenas were beheaded by Rein in one fell swoop!

Another two had their forelimbs chopped off and were squirming on the ground.

These vicious dogs had been barking at Rein for quite some time, and now, at last, it was much quieter.

A whine... the only surviving hyena cowered behind the bald man's legs in fright.

The scene had the few Hyena Gang members' eyelids twitching!

"Don't panic! It's just one kid, and there are five of us, what's there to fear! Charge!!" The bald bruiser steeled his heart and led the charge, swinging a long wooden stick as he rushed towards Rein.

Hearing the bald bruiser's words, the few simple-minded Hyena Gang members with well-developed limbs snapped back to reality.

Rein had deliberately left two witnesses alive but injured to interrogate them separately about 'King Dog' Cole's situation.

He then separated the bald man from the other gang member by about twenty meters and, as both legs of the bald man had been cut off, he wasn't worried about him running away.

Rein interrogated the gang member first.

"Spill it! How did your Hyena Gang leader Cole instruct you?" Holding the Dual-Handed Greatsword, Rein patted the crippled gang member's cheek and said.

"Keep your voice down, don't let the bald guy hear. I will verify the stories from both of you!"

The shivering crippled gang member nodded repeatedly and said, "Don't kill me, I'll talk! Boss Cole sent us to investigate the disappearance of his brother Blackbeard from a few days ago."

It made sense, these Hyenas had large noses, their sense of smell was far more acute than the average canine's. Clearly, they had picked up on Blackbeard's scent lingering in Anna's home from a few days ago.
