Chapter 1548 Bride's Maid
Chapter 1548 Bride's Maid
At last, the moment arrived for the bride to make her appearance. The door to her residence swung open, revealing a vision of loveliness in a pristine white bridal gown that left everyone in awe of her breathtaking beauty.
Ming Rusheng, transfixed, felt as though time had stood still, rendering him immobile. There, before him, stood the woman he cherished, now his bride, and he was captivated by the sight.
A gentle smile graced Lu Lian's lips as her luminous eyes locked onto the princely figure standing before her.
Amidst the admiration of onlookers, the day's most beautiful woman descended the staircase. Her stunning white bridal dress cascaded in delicate layers, creating an ethereal trail that followed her every step. The gown gracefully embraced her slender figure, accentuating her curves with an elegant flow. The pure white fabric caught the light, casting a soft glow that heightened the enchantment of the moment.
Her glossy black hair, meticulously styled, framed her face in loose waves that danced with her movements. A delicate veil, adorned with intricate lace, flowed from the back of her dark locks, infusing her appearance with a timeless touch of romance.
Coming to a stop in front of Ming Rusheng, who remained in the throes of overwhelming emotion, she stood as the epitome of beauty and grace.
"Am I really that beautiful?" she inquired, her gentle smile offering reassurance to the astonished man.
Ming Rusheng, finally regaining his composure, felt a hint of moisture in his eyes, as if what stood before him were a manifestation of his most cherished dream. He tenderly clasped her delicate hand and responded, "You've always been beautiful. But seeing you as my bride feels like a dream."
She leaned in, planting a peck on his cheek, and teased, "Now, do you believe it's not a dream?"
His smile widened as he cradled her small face in his palms, gently kissing her forehead. Locking eyes with her, he whispered, "I believe it now."
Present witnesses couldn't help but admire the enchanting couple before them. Lu Lijun, standing alongside Jiang Yuyan, held her hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. Their exchanged glances conveyed a silent conversation that only the two of them could comprehend.
In his eyes, she saw anticipation for the day they, too, would experience such joy, and his gaze assured her that it would happen one day for sure.
Wen Zac and Ming Lan joined the gathering. Ming Lan couldn't help but express her admiration, saying, "They make a truly lovely couple."
Observing Ming Lan and Wen Zac's belated arrival, Jiang Yang quirked an eyebrow, "Best man and bridesmaid fashionably late? Not on a day like today, at least..."
"We had more pressing matters to attend to," Wen Zac responded bluntly, causing a flush to color Ming Lan's face.
"Yeah, I can see that," Jiang Yang remarked, "I heard you bailed on being the best man at the last minute, so they roped me into it."
"You should be thanking us for that," Wen Zac retorted.
"Well, with my beautiful cousin and your stunning wife as bridesmaids, I suppose I should express my gratitude," Jiang Yang teased.
Ming Lan, feeling a bit awkward, cleared her throat, "Brother Yang, I'm not a bridesmaid."
"Huh?" Jiang Yang looked at her with surprise, "Just like your husband, you backed out too?"
"She was busy with me, and she can't stay by the bride's side for long," Wen Zac explained, subtly hinting at the obvious thing they did the last night.
"Zac," Ming Lan gently pinched his hand to silence him.
"Whatever! You both are traitors. On such an important day for them, you couldn't restrain yourselves," Jiang Yang frowned, turning to his sister, "Who's going to be the bridesmaid now? Yuyan..."
"She was occupied with me, so she can't stay by the bride's side for long either. Yuyan needs to rest," Lu Lijun interjected.
Jiang Yuyan and Ming Lan shared helpless gazes at boldness from their men and shook their heads. "Then who is..." n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Brother," Jiang Yuyan called, pointing in a direction, "There is the bridesmaid."
Jiang Yang glanced toward the bride's residence, where a lovely woman emerged in a dress meant for a bridesmaid. As if struck by lightning, Jiang Yang stood frozen in place.
The charming bridesmaid, adorned in a delicate pink dress, brought a touch of soft elegance to the lively atmosphere. Her gown, a subtle blush hue, flowed gracefully, enhancing the overall romantic ambiance of the occasion.
Though still the beautiful woman from ten years ago, she exuded a newfound maturity that added to her charm.
"Nicky?"
Jiang Yang couldn't help but utter her name silently, unable to voice his astonishment.
"I believe you'll surely thank us for this," Wen Zac reiterated his earlier words, but Jiang Yang was too shocked to register the sentiment.
All eyes were on a stunned Jiang Yang, their faces adorned with smiles.
Nicky glanced at Jiang Yang, but she quickly averted her gaze, proceeding down the stairs to stand by the bride's side.
Lu Feng patted his shoulder and whispered, "It's real, darling."
Jiang Yang pushed aside his hand, retorting, "I am not your darling."
Lu Feng chuckled, "Glad to know it, you betrayer."
"They say a man changes when he sees a beautiful woman, it's true," An Tian commented, "Now that Nicky is back, he's forgotten his darling from all those years."
"He has his own darling hiding in his cave," Jiang Yang shot back, but still frozen in his place, his gaze fixed at Nicky. "Go ahead," Lu Feng said, "You don't have to hold back this time."
Jiang Yang didn't respond but then heard his sister, "Brother, go ahead."
Everyone offered him gazes that urged him the same. Jiang Yang cleared his throat and straightened his coat, "Well, I shall resume my duty as best man."
"You should," Jiang Yuyan spoke, smiling at her brother. Before leaving, Jiang Yang winked at Wen Zac, "Thank you," and walked ahead.
The others could only laugh at the unfolding scene.
"They will be fine, don't they?" Jiang Yuyan asked. "They will," Lu Feng spoke. "She is finally back after ten years," An Tian spoke, "Our friend should make best out of it."
