Chapter 1621 Broken Yuyan
1621 Broken Yuyan
Lu Lijun was busy in the meeting when he was informed there was an urgent call from home. Stopping the meeting midway, he received it and got to know Jared Magnus had arrived at the Lu Mansion. Without a second of wait, he left the meeting and hurried outside and ordered. "Get my car."
"Lijun, what happened?" Noah hurried after him, along with Xiao Min who was equally worried to see Lu Lijun panicked. "That bastard Jared Magnus went to my home," Lu Lijun replied in a hurry, only to have the other two feel worried and catch up with him.
At the entrance of the office building, his car was already waiting. The driver opened the back passenger seat door for him, but instead he opened the door of the driver's seat and sat behind the wheel. Noah and Xiao Min hurried inside as well, before Lu Lijun drove in hurry. His grip on the steering wheel was tight. Noah sitting next to him, could understand his unease, but had to do his job of keeping his friend sane. "Lijun, drive carefully. We will be there soon."
Lu Lijun heard it but continued his speed up, his mind had nothing but to stop that bastard from saying something to Yuyan which he should not. He was scared to see if something like that happened when he would see her broken all over again.
"Where is Yuyan?" his loud voice echoed in the drawing room upon not seeing her. "She is in her room," Elder Lu replied, seemingly broken himself, his eyes moist. "Go to her. She is not fine. That man had said something hurtful to her."
Lu Lijun had already ran upstairs, with quick steps he could hurried to reach the second floor and saw his mother standing outside Jiang Yuyan's room, her own eyes teary.
"Mother?"
"She is not opening the door. I called her so many times," she informed, wiping away her tears. Lu Lijun understood she wouldn't open even if he called her. He went to his own room and from the secret door that connected to the secret door of Yuyan's room, he entered her room, only to find her sitting next to the bed on the floor, her folded knees had her hands wrapped around them, her face buried in it, a loud sobs echoed in the room.
Lu Lijun hurried to her, sat on the floor in front of her and hugged her in a comforting hold, "Yuyan," his own voice heavy. In response he only heard her loud sobs. "Look at me. Let's talk alright?"
Jiang Yuyan only shook her head, refusing to look at him, as if she had committed a great sin.
Lu Lijun let her cry for a while, till she calmed down a little and sat holding her, his own eyes teary. He feared what she would do now. He was going to make him pay that man for real for hurting her again.
After a while he spoke again, when he felt her sobs had slowed down and she was exhausted due to crying, "Don't listen to what he said alright? He tried to do the same with me but do you remember what you said to me that it was not my fault. They were evil."
Yuyan shook her head, "I killed him….he died because of me….Qiang…he paid for what I did….I am at fault…"
"No, it was not," he insisted and held her face in his hands and made her look at him. He looked straight into her teary, red and swollen eyes. "It was never your fault. Brother would have said the same and everyone of us."
"I shouldn't have gone seeking my revenge. I should have let it go," she cried out, "It took Qiang away from me. It all started from me."
"Yuyan…"
"I shouldn't have fought with that kid. I shouldn't have gone alone to that room. I shouldn't have taken revenge when everything had died down. I should have done nothing at all…."
Lu Lijun's heart hurt to see her this way. He could understand her well as he had gone through the same a while ago and could not stop blaming himself. He knew words won't be enough. All she needed was time to deal with it. Lu Lijun lifted her in arms to carry her to the bed. He put her on the bed and arranged the pillows behind so she could rest. Sitting next to her, he wiped her eyes but the tears won't stop, neither she opened her eyes to look at him. He held her hands in his, "Don't avoid me. No one but I can understand better what you are going through right now. We both are the same in this. If you blame yourself, I will blame myself as well and then everything will be over. Do you want that?"
She opened her eyes, and looked at him. She might go to hell with the sin she had committed but Lu Lijun, he can't. He was innocent. "It's not the same," she spoke, "I was the one to start it. If I had not hurt that boy…"
"They were the one to start it. If they had not hurt you first, it wouldn't have happened," he replied, "If you had not punished that boy, brother Qinag would have punished him and others, trust me. That boy was fortunate that he didn't fall into my brother's hands, or he would have faced even worse death. In the end things would have ended up the same." Lu Lijun explained, "If any of them was alive, I would have killed them as well, so it's not on you."
"If something had happened to you, brother won't be alive as well," Lu Lijun added, "At least he died while assured that he could save you. If he had failed, I can imagine what he would have turned into. Because I can see myself in his place and I know what would have happened to me. He and I both are the same when it comes to you. He loved you more than anything and where he left, I would continue to do it."
She understood what Lu Lijun meant but the burden of causing the death of the man she loved was heavier than any consoling words to make her feel less guilty. "It will take time for you to cope with it just like it did to me, but you will be fine. You have me, alright?" he asked. "I'll get you water."
Jiang Yuyan closed her eyes and continued to shed tears and blame herself. Lu Lijun poured the water in glass, while getting the medicine from the drawer and adding in the water. He needed to put her to sleep first or she would only continue to cry. He had talked to An Tian on the way home, and did what he had told. He remembered, she must have done the same with him when he was hurting that he went into a long sleep and after that he was calm and was ready to understand what she and Lu Feng tried to tell her. Jiang Yuyan drank the water. "You should rest." he helped her lie in bed and slept next to her, holding her into his arms. "I am sorry, Lijun," she mumbled in a horse voice. "For taking your brother away."
"You didn't. Those who did, already paid for it," he assured in a gentle tone, "Close your eyes."
Soon Jiang Yuyan fell asleep. Assured that she wouldn't wake up for at least a few hours, Lu Lijun covered her and left the room as he went downstairs where the entire family was sitting worried. Lu Jinhai and Lu Han were home as well. "How is she?" Lu Jinhai asked. "Not fine at all, but I put her to sleep," Lu Lijun replied and looked at his mother, "I have to go somewhere. Take care of her."
"Where are you going?" Niag Jiahui asked, worried that her son would do something reckless. She had lost one son already and was scared to lose another.
"Just some work. Brother Yang would be here as well. She will feel better," Lu Lijun replied dismissively and walked to leave the home. "Lijun," Ning Jiahui called only to hear him say, "Don't worry about me, mother," and walked out.
She turned to her husband, "Why don't you stop him."
"He won't listen. Let him." n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Out of the home, Noah and Xiao Min followed him. "Where are you going, Lu Lijun?" Noah asked worriedly, not having a good feeling about it. "Going to pay a visit to that bastard," he replied heading to his car, "You two go back to the office and continue work. We have important meetings for tomorrow."
"I am coming with you," Noah followed him. "No one is coming with me," His cold voice reached the other two, "Just do as I say," and he got into his car and drove away. "He worries me," Noah mumbled. "I will tell San Zemin to follow him. Don't worry," Xiao Min made a call. ----
Inside the car, Lu Lijun also made a call. The moment it was received, he spoke, "Carry on with our plan. That bastard needs some reality check."
"Yes, sir." Lu Lijun hung up the call and continued to drive, his expressions as if he was not going to spare anyone.
-----
Meanwhile, at Jared's residence, he received the call. The man chuckled. "Left home? As expected of him? Time to remind them all about the past, a little scare to shake that woman once more. Do just as I said."
"Yes, sir. Our people are ready the same place you have told."
"Good," Jared hung up the call, his lips curved into an evil smirk, "This is gonna be fun. Now I will see how that woman won't regret what she did to my brother. She would even regret being born."
