You're My Only Star

The private investigator that Lu Xun sent out did not come out only brought back the result of his investigation after a week.

Song Xing Xing read the file that her husband had given her and could not hide her surprise upon finding out about Xia Yu's relationship with her mother.

Hearing that the main reason that Xia Yu had quit her job was because of the promise she gave to her deceased father made her angry.

Although Xia Yu wanted to be a filial child, she did not have to quit her job and return home. As long as she could look for someone to look after her mother, wouldn't that be alright as well?

Moreover, her younger brother was an adult and fully capable of working. However, that man mostly stayed at home and would only think of making fast money through some suspicious investment. In the end, he had lost quite a lot of money.

Xia Yu had a good job in Capital City as a nurse. The salary was good and she was doing something she liked and was good at.

Unfortunately, she chose to quit because of her mother.

Song Xing Xing was furious but there was nothing that she could do about it.

Every family had its own problems and this was not something that she could intervene in unless Xia Yu came to look for her advice.

After complaining to Lu Xun about Xia Yu's life, Song Xing Xing then sent the investigation result to Huo Yun Chen.

However, that man was unable to look at the report as his phone was confiscated by his manager. His reckless act had dragged his team into trouble and he was being punished for it.

These days, Huo Yun Chen could only stay in his house and practice. If his family members wanted to look for him, they will have to do it through Brother Xiang or Lin You.

During his punishment period, Huo Yun Chen managed to work on a couple of songs. He let a few of his trusted friends listen to this song and they all agreed that the song he wrote this time was a little different than usual.

Brother Xiang listened to this song and was surprised at how good it was. He looked at the lyrics that Huo Yun Chen had written and had a few suspicions. However, Brother Xiang did not speak his mind out loud.

Seeing that someone had a conscience and knew how to reflect on his mistake, Brother Xiang then returned the phone to Huo Yun Chen.

"Thank you, Brother Xiang." Huo Yun Chen took his phone and quickly checked on his messages.

A hint of disappointment came when he could not find any message from Xia Yu.

Before he left A City, the two of them had exchanged their numbers. He told her about the upcoming events in 'Legend of the Sky', but unfortunately, he was unable to join the event as Brother Xiang had confiscated his phone.

He wanted to apologize to Xia Yu for going missing for more than a week but he could not deny that he was also looking forward to seeing Xia Yu texting him first.

A disappointed sigh escaped him.

As he was scrolling down the phone, an unknown number suddenly popped up on his screen.

His brow furrowed, wondering if it was a telephone scammer. 

This was his private number and only his family members and close friends had this number.

Huo Yun Chen hesitated. Then, he finally picked up the phone call just before the call ended.

"Hello?" Huo Yun Chen spoke cautiously.

"Hello, my name is Nurse Wei from A City Hospital." A woman's voice was heard on the other line. "May I ask if you are a friend of Miss Xia Yu?"

His heart jumped upon hearing the woman's introduction. Huo Yun Chen stood up suddenly, causing the stool behind him to topple.

"Yes. Miss Xia Yu is a friend."

Brother Xiang was close and had heard Huo Yun Chen's words. His brow rose when he heard him mentioning the nurse's name with an anxious voice.

"What happened to her?" Huo Yun Chen asked again.

"Your friend, Miss Xia arrived at the hospital a while ago with an injury on her head and body after falling from a two-story building."

Huo Yun Chen's mind was in a buzz when he heard the nurse's words.

Xia Yu fell from a building?

"Hello? Mister, can you help to contact Miss Xia's family member? We might have to let them sign a few documents," the nurse spoke again.

Huo Yun Chen exchanged a few words with the nurse and finally told her that he will be coming over. However, before he could leave the place, Huo Yun Chen found that Brother Xiang was standing in front of him, blocking him from leaving.

"Where are you going?" Brother Xiang asked. His expression was gloomy.

"Brother Xiang, please, let me leave."

"Are you going to A City?" Brother Xiang had overheard Huo Yun Chen's conversation and could guess what was going on.

"She's in danger."

Brother Xiang crossed his arms on his chest, refusing to budge. "Even if she's in danger, what can you do to help? Huo Yun Chen, who is she to you?"

"Even though there is nothing I can do to help, I still cannot leave her alone," Huo Yun Chen said. "Her family members are unreliable."

The two of them stood at the center of the room, staring at each other for a long time. A few staff who happened to be in the same room turned to look at each other.

If Huo Yun Chen and Brother Xiang suddenly get into a fight, then, what were they supposed to do?

After a long time, Brother Xiang finally closed his eyes and heaved a long sigh. "Fine. I can let you go but I'm going with you." 

Huo Yun Chen looked at his manager and smiled. "Thank you, Brother Xiang!"

"Go and make preparation. I'll send someone to investigate what was going on in A City for you," Brother Xiang said.  He turned around and muttered a few cursing words. He was too soft on Huo Yun Chen and he hoped that he was not going to regret this decision later on.

Turning around, Huo Yun Chen told his assistant to make a preparation.. He thought about Brother Xiang's words again and decided to ask Little Star for her help.
