You're My Only Star

Xia Yu has been thinking about the internship offer that the head nurse had mentioned to her for a few days. She might have to work extra hard under this program but the offer was too good for her to reject.

If it was in the past, Xia Yu would have agreed to take this offer right away. But thinking about the boyfriend that she had recently obtained, Xia u thought that it would be better if she asked for his opinion first.

Huo Yun Chen has been by her side, giving her his support while she thought that she was going through some difficulties. Now that the two of them were together, of course, she wanted him to let him know about the offer and listened to his opinion.

Xia Yu had a feeling that Huo Yun Chen might not mind if she wanted to take the offer. It seemed that he was not such a man who would restrain her from doing what she wanted.

The last time she told him that she wanted to continue working at the hospital, Huo Yun Chen had encouraged her.

Huo Yun Chen's work schedule would make him travel all around the place for a long time and they could only meet whenever he was free.

Xia Yu thought that even if she had to stay in F Country for this program, the two of them could somehow make their relationship work.

A sigh escaped her as Xia Yu realized that she had arrived at her floor. She took out her keys and unlocked the door to Lin You's apartment.

Huo Yun Chen had arranged for her to live with Lin You after he brought her back from A City. These days, whenever Lin You went to follow Huo Yun Chen to work, Xia Yu would stay to look after the apartment.

Just as she was about to enter the room, Xia Yu began to feel as if there was something wrong with the place. Her instinct was telling her that the atmosphere did not feel right.

Her heart raced.

Xia Yu turned around, wanting to escape the place. However, before she could take a step out, the light in the living room was turned on and a familiar face was looking back at her.

Her steps halted.

Xia Yu was in a daze as she stared at the man who was half-leaning on the wall smiling at her. Her lips were slightly parted as she was still thinking whether the person in front of her was the real thing or her imagination.

It couldn't be that she missed him that much that she started to see him in the apartment, right?

"Xia Yu." Huo Yun Chen spread his arms, motioning for her to come over.

Xia Yu snapped out of her trance and slowly walked over to his side. "When did you get here? Didn't you say that your flight is the day after tomorrow?"

Huo Yun Chen wrapped one arm around her waist and cupped her cheek with another one. "I finished my part this morning and rushed over." He pushed a few strands of her hair behind her ears. "Xia Yu, I miss you."

Her cheek flushed. Xia Yu wanted to find a place to hide, but a certain someone was holding on her waist tightly, preventing her from escaping.

Huo Yun Chen smiled as he looked at Xia Yu's expression that resembled a deer in a headlight. Leaning forward, he gently placed his lips against her in a kiss.

Xia Yu took a deep breath as she felt his lips slowly moving against her. Huo Yun Chen's kiss was soft and lingering. It was tempting her and soon, she started to reciprocate his kisses.

The smile on his face widened. Once he had kissed her enough Huo Yun Chen pulled away to admire the girl's look. Her eyes were misty, her cheek was flushed and her lips were full and red. Looking at her gave him the urge to kiss her again.

Noticing the way Huo Yun Chen was looking at her, Xia Yu quickly bit at her lips before he could kiss her again.

Huo Yun Chen chuckled at her reaction. He couldn't stop himself and pinched at her cheek.

"How long are you going to on a break this time?" Xia Yu quickly found a chance to distract him.

"One week." Huo Yun Chen said. "Then, Brother Xiang had arranged for me to enter the studio to record a few songs."

Xia Yu tilted her head to one side. "Are you going to release another album soon?"

"Well, this is a secret." Huo Yun Chen bopped her nose. "But I guess since you are my girlfriend, I can make some exception and tell you this secret. Uh-huh."

Her heart was beating erratically. Xia Yu could not understand just how could she be this giddy just hearing him calling her his girlfriend.

"Next time, I will ask Brother Xiang to arrange it so that you can visit me during recording."

"I... don't want to be a problem."

"You're not. You won't be. This is a special privilege for family members." Huo Yun Chen smiled. "Later, I will ask Lin You to bring you in. It won't be a problem."

Xia Yu felt a little dizzy. She was still having a hard time processing his words. It seemed that he had told her too many things in one go and she could not process them all at once.

Visiting him during work? Watching him recording live? Family member?

"Have you eaten?"

Huo Yun Chen's sudden question snapped her out of her thought and she shook her head.

Today, she had to work until late to cover for her friend. She was too tired to head somewhere to eat. Xia Yu had thought that she would head home and cook a noodle or something.

"Then... what do you think about heading back to my place?"

"Ah?"

"Lin You is going to return a while later." Huo Yun Chen hooked his finger on her jeans pocket. "She's single. Isn't it pitiful that she had to continue eating dog food with me around?"

Xia Yu stared back at the man speechlessly. She wondered how would Lin You react if she heard Huo Yun Chen's words.

Moreover, this... was only an excuse to tempt her to his place, right?

"I'll personally cook you a bowl of noodles if you come with me."

Xia Yu pursed her lips into a thin line, wondering if she should say yes to this temptation.
