CH.501 Absolute Powerforce and Shining Darkness
CH.501 Absolute Powerforce and Shining Darkness
The Sages were quite impressed when I returned to the tower with the missing books, as well as the people who had stolen them.
That got us the confirmation of how the books were stolen. One of the thieves, more like the thief, had a unique skill that let him transform into a perfect replica of anyone whose blood and hair they ingested.
And when I say perfect, I mean it was near perfect. They got all the skills and stats of the person they transformed into, excluding HP and mana. Those two would stay the same.
It was an extremely powerful, and dangerous skill. And in all honesty, I’m thankful we have this person behind the bars. Because I’m terrified of what he could have done if he got some of my blood and hair and transformed into me.
He would have unlimited access to Pack Opener, and that just … that isn’t good.
The only real weakness of the skill, other than not copying HP and mana, is that he wouldn’t know how to use the skills, and would basically have to learn how to do so on the fly. It also cannot copy things held inside Storage type skills. You know, Storage, Inventory and Item Box.
So at least I’m happy to know he couldn’t steal or copy Errelitea.
… Actually, since that is the case, he probably wouldn’t get my Collection. He may not even get the same Pack Opener as what I have. He may only get the LV.1 variant of it, with only one daily Pack token, and access to only Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon.
And while that set does have Exodia, I know firsthand how difficult it was to get Exodia from that set. Not that it doesn’t have other powerful cards like Dark Hole, Raigeki, Monster Reborn and Blue-Eyes itself, but those really aren’t a problem when compared to God monsters.
Sadly, other than the info on the skill, we didn’t get too much info on the thieves. From the papers they carried, we knew they were from the states. Not the adventuring group that was causing trouble, they were locals that just took up the opportunity, and paid back the person who released them. But the thief and two of his friends were from the states.
But enough with all of this. I got three new sets yesterday, time to open some packs.
As you might remember, I got three new sets yesterday. , and .
I’ll do … ten of each, I think. And I’ll start with Hidden Arsenal 2, because it is part of the Hidden Arsenal series.
HA02 1
Ally of Justice Nullfier; Genex Blastfan; Worm Millidith; Jurrac Monoloph; Genex Army
Alright. So Nullfier. Not a bad effect, if it happened earlier. The fact that Nullfier only negates the effects after the battle is kind of meh. Still not a terrible card, just … meh.
Blastfan is a searcher, so it is nice. I can get some of the more rare Genex monsters with it. And, you know, if I ever want to make large industrial fans, I can use him as a base.
Worm Millidith is a literal leech, but just 400 damage really isn’t that much. Like sure it is better against the local monsters, because they might not be able to get rid of it, but it is still slow as anything.
Jurrac Monoloph has an ‘attack everything’ effect, which is cool. But with only 1500 attack, he needs a few equips to really do some damage. Still a nice card.
Genex Army is super meh. Just … not worth it. But he has a giant launcher. Not sure what it shoots, but it looks interesting, and I may need to look at it.
Next pack.
HA02 2
Fabled Kushano; Jurrac Monoloph; Ally of Justice Unlimiter; Worm Millidith; Naturia Guardian
Fabled Kushano can bring itself to your hand from the GY by discarding a different Fabled monster. Which isn’t really all that necessary.
Ally of Justice Unlimiter is a Limiter Remover for Ally of Justice monsters, and it doesn’t even destroy them during the end phase. So yeah, I like it.
Naturia Guardian is a tree. Well, a treant to be specific. It doesn’t have crazy stats, or effect, so … I probably won’t use him. But maybe I can get some interesting food materials if I Wok him.
Next pack.
HA02 3
Genex Blastfan; Flamvell Baby; Mist Valley Executor; Jurrac Velo; Genex Army
Flamvell Baby is so meh. 400 attack boost for the turn is not all that good.
Mist Valley Executor is okay. Sadly he is a LV.5 not LV.4, but it doesn’t really matter to me.
Jurrac Velo is nice. Sure battle floaters aren’t that great for me, but I still like them.
Next pack.
HA02 4
Genex Gaia; Naturia Vein; Worm Opera; Ally Mind; Fabled Gallabas
Genex Gaia is literally backwards. He should protect your Genex Controller, because Controller is the main Genex combo piece, but instead he just protects himself at the cost of a Controller.
Naturia Vein is good, but a bit too costly. Tributing two monsters for one negate really isn’t worth it.
Worm Opera is mediocre as anything.
Ally Mind has no effect and bad stats for his level, so no thanks.
And Fabled Gallabas is just okay.
Next pack.
HA02 5
Genex Blastfan; Naturia Beetle; Ally of Justice Reverse Break; Worm Rakuyeh; Naturia Beast
Naturia Beetle can get up to 1800 attack, but that just makes it okay.
Ally of Justice Reverse Break is a mistake. It breaks itself if there is a Light monster on the field. And it belongs to an archetype that is designed to be good against Light attribute monsters. And Reverse Breaks effect to immediately destroy face-down monsters isn’t unique. Tons of monsters have that effect.
Worm Rakuyeh has good stats for a LV.4, but the effect it has does limit its usefulness.
And Naturia Beast. What can I say about him? Other than that he is Amazing! I hate playing against Naturia decks, because of this Beast, but he is so good when he is under my control. Negate any and all spells. Yeah, that sounds pretty good.
Next pack.
HA02 6
Flamvell Grunika; Flamvell Baby; Ally of Justice Thunder Armor; Ally of Justice Reverse Break; Ally of Justice Field Marshal
Flamvell Grunika can do some burn damage after destroying a monster by battle. Which doesn’t exactly work like that in this world, but whatever.
Thunder Armor is … somewhere between okay, and meh. Giving all Ally of Justice monsters piercing is nice, and it does have okay stats. It does come with that ‘cannot be special summoned’ limit, but that doesn’t really matter to me.
And Field Marshal is too difficult to summon for the effect it has. It doesn’t even have amazing stats.
Next pack.
HA02 7
Flamvell Baby; Naturia Rock; Fabled Lurrie; Genex Doctor; Fabled Valkyrus
Naturia Rock is just a rock.
Fabled Lurrie special summons itself after being discarded. Which is nice, in some situations.
Genex Doctor has a meh destruction effect.
And Fabled Valkyrus makes Pack tokens, so he is cool.
Next pack.
HA02 8
Worm Millidith; Ally of Justice Searcher; Naturia Rosewhip; Genex Gaia; Dai-sojo of the Ice Barrier
Ally of Justice Searcher is meh, but I guess it might be able to find hiding monsters.
Naturia Rosewhip is overpowered as anything. If it can really make my opponents only cast a single spell per … some period of time, that is insane. Just completely prevent someone who relies on magic from doing anything.
Dai-sojo of the Ice Barrier is okay. He does protect all Ice Barrier monsters from spells and traps.
Next pack.
HA02 9
Worm Millidith; Ally of Justice Thunder Armor; Naturia Rosewhip; Worm Opera; Fabled Valkyrus
Okay. That is the first nothing new here pack.
Next pack.
HA02 10
Naturia Vein; Genex Gaia; Genex Recycled; Naturia Antjaw; Jurrac Tyrannus
Genex Recycled is just a wannabe Genex Controller.
Naturia Antjaw is okay, but not for me.
And Jurrac Tyrannus is actually quite nice. Since all the attack gains are permanent, it can get really large very quickly. And massive attack monsters are generally the best for what I use them for.
And now, time for the next set. Absolute Powerforce.
ABPF 1
Fire Ant Ascator; Consecrated Light; Power Invader; Reptilianne Rage; Forgotten Temple of the Deep; Bicular; Unicycular; Garlandolf, King of Destruction; Skull Conductor
Fire Ant Ascator is needed for Inti, if I recall correctly, so it is nice to have.
Consecrated Light is something I just got as a reward for the Granter of Magic mission, so it isn’t exactly new, but it is still a good monster.
Power Invader has okay attack stat, but nothing else.
Reptilianne Rage is an okay boost, and even lowers the attack of something when it is destroyed.
Forgotten Temple of the Deep is okay.
Bicular is also okay. Just need the Tri and Uni variants.
Garlandolf, King of Destruction is nice. Good stats and destroys all weak monsters on summon.
And Skull Conductor isn’t really something I need. Unlimited summons, you know.
Next pack.
ABPF 2
Spiders' Lair; Lair Wire; Tricular; Informer Spider; Supay; Variety Comes Out; Gravekeeper's Stele; Djinn Cursenchanter of Rituals; Drill Warrior
Spiders' Lair is meh. I mean, I suppose in this world it might just bind up the attacker, which would be a lot better, so maybe it is good?
Lair Wire is fine. Destroy something by banishing something.
Tricular is good to have. It goes with Bicular.
Informer Spider can take control of an opposing monster, but it is a bit too specific.
Supay is needed for the Moon Dragon, so good to have.
Variety Comes Out is pretty trashy. Why would I tribute a Synchro for a bunch of Tuners? I guess you could use the Tuners for Link plays. Still not worth it.
Gravekeeper's Stele is just fine. Recovers Gravekeepers from the GY and is unaffected by Necrovalley.
Djinn Cursenchanter of Rituals is good. Not as good as the other Djinn, but still nice.
Drill Warrior has a direct attack effect, which is okay. The banishment effect though… not all that great.
Next pack.
ABPF 3
Destruct Potion; Alien Brain; Reptilianne Servant; Reptilianne Naga; Gundari; Consecrated Light; Pot of Benevolence; Machine King - 3000 B.C.; XX-Saber Garsem
Destruct Potion is kind of like Mystik Wok, but instead of making food, it makes drinks. So yeah, I love that thing. I’ll be experimenting with it a lot.
Alien Brain is super specific, but not bad.
Reptilianne Servant has a powerful effect, but it dies when you look at it funny.
Reptilianne Naga is okay. Cannot be destroyed by battle, and lowers the attack of the monsters it battles to 0.
Gundari is a Spirit monster, so he automatically sucks. The effect is actually okay, he just isn’t worth using.
Pot of Benevolence is a meh recovery card.
Machine King - 3000 B.C. sucks. Low natural stats, and you cannot summon stuff for a while after summoning it.
And XX-Saber Garsem is just fine. A bit specific, but that goes for almost everything.
Next pack.
ABPF 4
Alien Brain; Apocatequil; Machine Assembly Line; Nature's Reflection; Bicular; Psi-Curse; Magic Hole Golem; Saber Hole; Core Blast
Apocatequil is okay Synchro material, not much else.
Machine Assembly Line is okay.
Nature's Reflection is stupidly worded, but it does reflect damage back to your opponent, so it is good.
Psi-Curse is super specific, but decent.
Magic Hole Golem allows something to attack directly, but only that monster can attack, and its attack is halved. A bit too costly in my opinion.
Saber Hole is great.
And Core Blast is okay.
Next pack.
ABPF 5
Supay; Widespread Dud; Serpent Suppression; Reptilianne Servant; Nature's Reflection; Inverse Universe; Consecrated Light; XX-Saber Hyunlei; Djinn Cursenchanter of Rituals
Widespread Dud is a dud.
Serpent Suppression is just bad.
Inverse Universe is interesting and can certainly put in some work.
And XX-Saber Hyunlei is good.
Next pack.
ABPF 6
Destruct Potion; Advance Force; Shreddder; Reptilianne Servant; Pandaborg; Bicular; Reptilianne Gardna; Power Pickaxe; Saber Hole
Advance Force is not needed. I don’t tribute summon
Shreddder is fine, but why do you have three Ds in a row? Are you trying to be a D/D/D monster?
Pandaborg is a battle floater, which is nice.
Reptilianne Gardna can search other Reptilianne monsters.
Power Pickaxe is pretty good, and I need to see if Wilma and Karl can make an OP pickaxe with it.
Next pack.
ABPF 7
Ritual of Destruction; Spiders' Lair; Fire Ant Ascator; Gravekeeper's Stele; Rocket Pilder; Power Invader; Oilman; Weeping Idol; Dark Bug
Ritual of Destruction is needed for Garlandolf.
Rocket Pilder is an okay equip.
Oilman is a meh Union monster.
Weeping Idol special summons itself by banishing a tuner from the GY. So I don’t need it.
Dark Bug is good. It specials a LV.3 Tuner from the GY, so instant Synchro.
Next pack.
ABPF 8
Call of the Reaper; Machine Assembly Line; Supay; Reptilianne Naga; Apocatequil; Pandaborg; Weeping Idol; Rocket Pilder; Gale Dogra
Call of the Reaper is super specific, and not even that good.
And Gale Dogra isn’t needed. I can just send extra deck monsters to the GY whenever I want with no cost.
ABPF 9
Gravekeeper's Stele; Power Supplier; Unicycular; Break! Draw!; Psi-Curse; Fire Ant Ascator; Call of the Reaper; Reptilianne Rage; Core Blast
Power Supplier is meh.
Unicycular is the last of the cyculars, so nice to have.
And Break! Draw! is okay.
Next pack.
ABPF 10
Serpent Suppression; Unicycular; Gundari; Bicular; Temple of the Sun; Power Invader; Psi-Curse; Lair Wire; Offering to the Immortals
Temple of the Sun is okay, but 300 boost is a bit too little.
And Offering to the Immortals is super specific, but fine.
But overall, really nice pulls from Absolute Powerforce. 3 ultra rares and 2 super rares. From 10 packs. That is great.
One more set to go. The Shining Darkness.
TSHD 1
Blackwing - Bombardment; Card Breaker; Lyna the Light Charmer; Flare Resonator; Koa'ki Meiru Initialize!; Crevice Into the Different Dimension; Black Thunder; Infernity Reflector; Ally of Justice Core Destroyer
I have other cards like Blackwing - Bombardment that are just better than Blackwing - Bombardment.
Card Breaker is not worth it.
Lyna the Light Charmer is great and I’ll be giving a copy to Unika.
Flare Resonator is nice. I know I shit on 300 attack point boosts, but when it comes from something like the specific tuner you use, it is actually quite nice.
Koa'ki Meiru Initialize! is trash.
Crevice Into the Different Dimension is even more trash. Ever heard of Soul Release?
Black Thunder is a terrible burn card, but I might be able to get the Dark Lightning skill with it. … then again, I could already get that skill with Dark World Lightning, so …
Infernity Reflector is situational, but okay.
And Ally of Justice Core Destroyer is fine.
Next pack.
TSHD 2
Wattcube; Silent Graveyard; X-Saber Palomuro; Crevice Into the Different Dimension; Trigon; Ronintoadin; Assault Spirits; Akz, the Pumer; Infernity Launcher
Wattcube is a decent equip.
Silent Graveyard is specific, but not bad.
X-Saber Palomuro is fine.
Trigon is a meh Union.
Ronintoadin is banned, because dumb ass loops. I don’t really need it.
Assault Spirits is trash.
Akz, the Pumer is not worth banishing other monsters.
And Infernity Launcher is great.
Next pack.
TSHD 3
Card Breaker; Blackwing - Bombardment; Hunter of Black Feathers; Batteryman AAA; Koa'ki Meiru Initialize!; Dawn of the Herald; Key Mouse; Chaos Trap Hole; Infernity Beetle
Hunter of Black Feathers is meh.
Batteryman AAA is just … I don’t even know. Sure I can swarm the field, but they have 0 attack.
Dawn of the Herald is the ritual spell for Herald of Perfection, so nice to have.
Key Mouse I already had, got it from Granter of Magic. Still a decent Tuner.
Chaos Trap Hole is fine.
And so is Infernity Beetle.
Next pack.
TSHD 4
Infernity Break; Flare Resonator; Biofalcon; X-Saber Palomuro; Blackwing - Ghibli the Searing Wind; Blossom Bombardment; Second Booster; Ronintoadin; Blackwing - Gust the Backblast
Infernity Break is not worth it.
Biofalcon is okay.
Blackwing - Ghibli the Searing Wind is fine, but it really should end the battle phase like Battle Fader.
Blossom Bombardment isn’t terrible, just not that needed.
Second Booster would be good if the boost was permanent. As it stands, it is meh.
And Blackwing - Gust the Backblast is fine.
TSHD 5
Black Thunder; Blossom Bombardment; Morphtronics, Scramble!; Silent Graveyard; X-Saber Palomuro; Worm Call; Infernity Reflector; Testudo erat Numen; Infernity Beetle
Morphtronics, Scramble! is okay, because it does negate the attack.
Worm Call is trash, I have unlimited summons.
And Testudo erat Numen is good, but not for me. No one special summons in this world, except me.
Next pack.
TSHD 6
Lyna the Light Charmer; Worm Call; Testudo erat Numen; Trigon; Leeching the Light; Power Break; Card Breaker; Intercept Wave; Dread Dragon
Leeching the Light is actually quite nice. It can potentially be a huge attack boost for every monster I control.
Power Break is situational, but not terrible.
Intercept Wave is fine, but I’ll never run into Synchro monsters.
And Dread Dragon is an okay Tuner.
Next pack.
TSHD 7
Blossom Bombardment; Wattcube; Archfiend Interceptor; Silent Graveyard; Fairy Archer; Phantom Hand; Infernity Break; X-Saber Pashuul; Infernity Inferno
Archfiend Interceptor is actually really good. Inflicting damage onto your opponent just because they attacked. Nice.
Fairy Archer is okay, but nothing amazing.
Phantom Hand is not that great. There are better ways of emptying your hand.
X-Saber Pashuul is okay.
And Infernity Inferno is meh. I have better cards that do the same for a smaller cost.
Next pack.
TSHD 8
Koa'ki Meiru Sandman; Black-Winged Strafe; Power Break; Testudo erat Numen; Assault Spirits; Ronintoadin; X-Saber Pashuul; Into the Void; Koa'ki Meiru Shield
Koa'ki Meiru Sandman can negate traps, so it is nice.
Black-Winged Strafe is too costly.
Into the Void is is fine.
And Koa'ki Meiru Shield is a worse Mirror Force.
Next pack.
TSHD 9
Crevice Into the Different Dimension; Phantom Hand; Archfiend Interceptor; Blackwing - Bombardment; Fairy Archer; Blossom Bombardment; Worm Call; Infernity Inferno; Infernity Launcher
A nothing new here pack. And this is only the second of the day.
Next pack.
TSHD 10
Blackwing - Ghibli the Searing Wind; Hunter of Black Feathers; Changer Synchron; X-Saber Palomuro; Dragon Laser; Crevice Into the Different Dimension; Black-Winged Strafe; Infernity Randomizer; The Fountain in the Sky
Changer Synchron is meh. There are better Tuners.
Dragon Laser is a conditional Raigeki.
Infernity Randomizer is fine.
And The Fountain in the Sky is a decent Continuous Spell.
And that is it. I’m done. Enough packs for one day. I got some okay stuff, but nothing mind blowing.
