Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.521 Attack on Smorog

CH.521 Attack on Smorog

“Sir! We have a situation!” Magie , Magical Exemplar who was installed into a dragon avatar, ran to me, as she said that.

I stopped my training, and turned to her.

“What is it?” I asked.

“We got a note through a letter exchange box!” Magie said. She showed me a piece of paper in her hand, and despite not being close to her, I could read out the single word written on it.

HELP

“From whom?”

“Sir Claus.”

Claus? So it is something up north? A monster? But wouldn’t the System Agents warn me about that? Send a mission to me or Wilma?

So maybe it is something they don’t want to, or can’t, warn me about.

I ran towards the workshop to get Wilma, while thinking of what it could be. I also used Dungeon Founder to activate the silent alarm that would get all of the strongest fighters ready to depart. I made that alarm for emergency fissure response, but we can use it for this.

… Fuck! Has the States finally decided they want the orichalcum source the dwarves have? It is the only thing that makes sense. The System Agents don’t really interfere with human on human action, at least not if it doesn’t get exceedingly bloody.

Wars are a right for people to have.

But luckily, I’m not the System, so I can say fuck that and go bonk some morons.

Once my group was ready to go, we headed out in B.E.S. Big Core MK-3.

I had everyone over level 100 with me, as well as Agunan. Janina’s soul copy was left to be in charge of HomeBase. She said we wouldn’t need her real body just to deal with some people.

We were flying pretty high up, so we had a wide field of view, so when we reached the border to Smorog, we quickly began seeing problems.

Places I had mapped out to have towns and cities were smoking, like they were lit on fire. The small villages seemed safe, but all the larger settlements that had a guard force seemed to be burning. At least at first glance.

And while Smorog is a small country, it still has seven towns and four cities.

I flew us directly to the capital, and we were able to confirm that the city was indeed ablaze. There seemed to be panic on the streets, as people were escaping the fires, while some tried to put them out.

I quickly scanned around for anyone or anything that was setting the places on fire, but I wasn’t spotting anything at first.

That was until I turned on Mana and Miasma Vision and spotted something. Or a lot of things.

At first, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was seeing. They looked kind of like sprites, but sprites are visible to the naked eye. At least as far as I know.

Also, sprites still look quite close to spirits, and spirits look like fairies, or winged humans. These things looked nothing like that.

They were … I think biblically accurate angels is the best description. They were monstrous messes of eyes and mouths, with no rime or reason. Each mouth seemed to be chanting a separate spell, because any time there was a pause, a new Fire Spell was launched at the city below.

“... Brian?” Alice said to get my attention.

“We have some sort of monstrous creatures!” I told everyone. “You can’t see them with the naked eye. Alice, use your unique to replicate Mana and Miasma Vision.”

While I let Alice check out the monster, I searched my Collection for a way to make the invisible visible.

At first I considered vision based cards, like Senri Eye and The Eye of Truth, but then I realized that this monster should count as a hidden monster.

A face-down monster if you will. So I think cards that force them face up should reveal it. In theory.

So I took out Dark-Piercing Light and activated it, revealing the monster to everyone.

I heard a few gasps from the people I brought with me, but this wasn’t the time for it. Instead, I brought out more copies of Dark-Piercing Light, and tossed three to everyone who has Card Summoner. Most of the cards were not sleeved, but I don’t care that we are wasting them. Dark-Piercing Light is a common in Dark Beginning 2 anyway.

“Group and head to the other cities and towns!” I commanded. “Use that card to reveal these monsters, unless something else is causing the chaos!” As I ordered that, I brought out a bunch of copies of Rain of Mercy.

“Then use those and help put out the fires. While also keeping an eye out on anyone suspicious. If anything bad happens, hit your panic buttons! Go!” I ordered, and my group quickly gathered into smaller groups.

Sadly, we quickly realized there weren't enough of us that we could group up, so we would have to divide further and go all by ourselves.

Einar and Eline headed to two of the towns. Unika was heading to another, as were Paulina and Cailie. Agunan got a few single use cards, because while he cannot use sleeved cards, the single use ones are fine.

Ria, Alice and Lua all headed for one of the cities.

This left myself and Wilma to deal with the capital. I was half-tempted to send Wilma out as well, but she wanted to help here. The capital was the biggest city, so we needed to deal with this quickly.

Really wish I would have brought Cina and Molly with us. We really could have used two extra bodies. I’ll be giving both of them Card Summoner when we return, so we can bring them with us in the future.

But since we don’t have those extra bodies to deal with the last two towns, I summoned two monsters to do it instead.

First was Quintet Magician, as an easy choice. He is the strongest Spellcaster monster I have, and he can deal with … whatever the heck that thing is. Assuming that the towns have these same monsters.

The second was Rainbow Neos. He is as strong as Quintet, is humanoid, and honestly just looks quite angelic, so hopefully the people below won’t try to attack him or something.

Naturally the two monsters couldn’t activate Dark-Piercing Light or Rain of Mercy, but hopefully they will manage.

As soon as I got out of my B.E.S., I drew out Errelitea, charged it with mana, and with a mix of Mana Flight and Flickering Step, I got to the monster and slashed at it with my sword.

I honestly wasn’t sure if I expected it to survive or not, but it did something I didn’t expect. Each of the halves struggled for a moment, before reforming into a smaller form of the original monster.

So at least it doesn’t fully regenerate. Maybe I just need to cut it up until it only has one mouth and one eye, and then it will die.

I decided to go with that, and kept slicing at one of the monsters, while simultaneously using Space Magic to try and completely annihilate the other.

The Space Magic, despite my relative lack of skill,  was very effective, and my Spacial Rupture spell destroyed most of the monster’s eyes and mouths, leaving only a single eye and two mouths.

I then cut the one I had been cutting in half again, before I quickly turned and stabbed the remaining eye of the creature, hoping to see it fall apart since it had no eyes left.

But instead, the two mouths began to quickly chant something. I quick casted a defensive spell, while also taking distance, before the creature exploded, causing a fireball that almost reached the ground. It singed the roofs of the buildings below, but thankfully didn’t reach the ground.

I then turned to the now sixteen tiny mouth and eye balls, all that was left of the other half of the monster. I cut a few of them with Errelitea and watched as the mana and miasma that seemed to make their body dispersed into the air. I then used Space Magic and Spirit Magic to destroy the remaining ones, leaving only one behind.

On that one, I activated Effect Veiler, negating its ability to use skills, or skill-like abilities.

That cause the creature to fall, so I bound up with Dark Chain. I then installed Skill Drain into it, to stop it from using skills permanently. Because the Effect Veiler is only temporary.

I wanted to capture one of these things, because I really want to test this … thing.

I then went to work putting out fires. Between Rain of Mercy and calling out the greater water spirit Rain, it went pretty quickly.

After the fires were out, I left Wilma in charge of the capital, and went to check out the other settlements. I hadn’t gotten any emergency calls, and the monsters, assuming that each had one, were defensively very frail. And even their offensive power came from the ability to spell spam with their multiple mouths. So realistically, they shouldn’t have been a problem after their invisibility was lifted.

And that was the case. Each of the creatures had been taken down, so all I ended up doing was setting out fires with Rain. In some cities, even that wasn’t necessary.

Ria had used Fire Magic to take control of the flames and had put them out like that. Alice used her unique-racial skill and Fire Magic to do the same. While Lua used Water and Wind Magic to snuff out the fires.

After my check on all the settlements, I flew around the country’s airspace with Mana and Miasma Vision active, just in case there were more of these things. I didn’t spot any more, but I did see something that was a bit alarming.

I spotted a miasma gathering spot that looked a bit like it could form into a fissure. It didn’t have the pre-sign purple lightning bolt looking thing forming yet, but I think it might still form into a fissure.

So I had Laura send the location details to the other System Agents, so that they could confirm if that was the case.

And by the time I had confirmed that there were no more monsters … actually, those things aren’t monsters, they are unidentified creatures. By the time I confirmed there were no more of them, the System Agents responded and told me that what I spotted was indeed an up-coming fissure spot, and sent me a System mission to deal with it.

So I did what I do best. Called out Exodia, popped the fissure with Dimensional Fissure, dealt with the SS-rank hyper inferno bird that came out of the fissure and had Exodia fix the problem.

In case you wanted to know, I summoned Majestic Red Dragon to deal with the hyper inferno bird.

And since a fissure happened on top of all of this other mess, I got a reward. A new set unlocked. That being .

But that will have to wait. I’ll have to regroup with the others, so we can see if there were any suspicious individuals spotted, and see if we can figure out who or what was behind this attack.
