Chapter 67

The little snakes listened to Shu Jintians words and did not bring food this time. Now that they had a clear line of sight, when they saw Shu Jintian, they excitedly rushed towards him and coiled around his legs, wanting to climb up.

Now, the little snakes were the thickness of an adult arm and they truly werent light. Three of their weights added together already made Shu Jintian stand a little unsteadily.

Alright, dont mess around. Shu Jintian bent down and told the little snakes, acting angry.

The little snakes were also obedient. Seeing their female father squat down, they let go of Shu Jintians leg, lifting their heads up to rub against Shu Jintians face and even sticking their tongues out to lick.

The little snakes scales were cold and werent as hard as Shu Hanyus; it wasnt painful when rubbed against a human face.

Shu Jintian felt both numb and tickled from their licks and couldnt help laughing.

Hehe, didnt I tell you guys not to come? Youre all so daring. Thankfully, I sent your snake dad off faraway. You guys can play here a little longer.

Hearing this, the little snakes happily rubbed against Shu Jintians body, twisting their bodies on the ground in delight.

Aoo~ A beastly howl that trembled through the mountain forest suddenly came from nearby, breaking the peace in the forest.

The sound from nightmares suddenly echoed in reality. Shu Jintians heart trembled and his complexion instantly turned deathly pale, rapidly turning his head to look.

What was seen was a huge animal with brown hair, both like a lion and a tiger, pacing towards them. The wings on his back were unfolded like a stretch, and then folded up at will. He seemed to be in a good mood. His strong skeleton and shiny fur all show that their owner was strong and should be a mountain overlord. However, his left eye may be gleaming with ferocity and bloodthirst, his right eye was an abrupt dull, shriveled and white, and looked very creepy.

Its you! A defeated opponent, yet you dare run to our territory; you arent scared of big snake? Shu Jintians face was so pale there wasnt a trace of blood, but he faked some bravado and looked straight at Yan Ze.

Seeing the beastman walk towards them, Shu Jintian, intentionally or otherwise, shielded the little snakes behind him and protected them. However, he didnt see the sudden glimmer of anger and fear in their eyes.

How repulsive; not only did he bully them, they dare to come bully their female father. When male father returned, he would definitely bite him to death.

The females appearance of being clearly afraid yet forcing himself evidently delighted Yan Ze. his mood grew even better and his humongous body approached them step by step lightheartedly.

It seemed that leaving those hateful Spiritual Snakes alone really was useful. Fortunately he endured and did not eat them up. God knew how much hatred he had when he sensed a scent similar to the wandering Spiritual Snake that had injured his eye; he itched to bite them into pulp and kill them in the most painful way. But to retrieve the female and avenge the disability of his body, he had no choice but to hide behind the young Spiritual Snakes and make them look for them as the scouts. He only needed to occasionally fly over to the young Spiritual Snakes den for inspection, then wait for an opportunity.

And because he came by flight, no matter how sensitive that snakes sense of smell was, it was hard to discover his scent.

Sure enough, it now appeared that he had succeeded. Yan Zes eyes held a proud smile as he strode towards Shu Jintian.

Little snakes, quickly hide behind dad. Shu Jintian cautiously retreated step by step. Because of the fear and hatred hidden deep in his heart, Shu Jintians body unconsciously trembled, but he did not forget to protect the little snakes.

Yan Ze thus abruptly went on the offensive at this instant. Followed with a low bellow, the huge and muscular beast form pounced towards Shu Jintian and the others with a weight like thousands of gold and a powerful grandeur.

The little snakes were also unafraid. The instant the enemy attacked, their taut bodies suddenly leapt. One snapped towards the giant beasts eyes, another towards his throat, and the little boss among the snakelets scuttled to Shu Jintians front, protecting their father.

Little snakes, be careful! Shu Jintians heart abruptly rose and he cried out in worry, his heart practically lodged in his throat.

Yan Ze smiled in contempt, then swung its claw and batted aside the little snake below it. Seeing the little snake getting closer to his eye, Yan Zes gaze abruptly turned icy. Just as it was inches away from him, he suddenly tilted his head and dodged the little snakes attack. The instant it turned its head back, it bit the little snakes entire head, resentfully biting down hard, and even chewing angrily.

The eye could be said to be Yan Zes weakness, and the little snakes inadvertent attack clearly infuriated Yan Ze. Yan Ze ferociously chewed the snake meat in its mouth and angrily thought: Sure enough, they were father and son. Even their methods of attack were similarly despicable. 

The sound of bones snapping came from Yan Zes mouth, the snake body hanging down the beasts mouth only intensely struggled for a few moments before limply hanging down, turning into slow and powerless twists, and even physiological twitches.

Afraid of accidentally biting the female, Yan Ze finally shook his head, tossing the little snake out of his mouth.

The scarlet red fluid flew everywhere as multiple dots sprinkled across the ground.

With a pa sound, the little snake was motionless as it slammed against the bloody ground. Its head had already vanished, blood flew from its broken neck like a stream. The blood shot rather far, then decreased in volume gradually. By now, the little snakes broken neck was a mushy mess of bloody flesh, the white ghastly bones could just barely be seen.

Ah! The moment Shu Jintian saw the little snakes body, he screamed uncontrollably. He immediately lunged over to take the little snakes lifeless body into his embrace. His quivering hands cushioned the little snakes muddled, bloody neck carefully, seeming to be apprehensive of inflicting any pain to it.

Yan Ze looked at the female who kneeled on the ground coldly, he let out a disdainful hmph. Bits of resentment within him were finally released.

However, this was only the beginning. He will eat all of that females Spiritual Snake children, then little Spiritual Snakes father as well. That shall dispel his hatred.

The two remaining little snakes were fumed by their brothers death, against the beast who was  patently gigantic against them, they raced towards him madly.

It was difficult for Yan Ze to take both snakes on at once with his mouth alone so he hit one snake to the side as he bit down on the other one again. This time, the little snake had learned from its brothers mistake. Since the first attack did not succeed, it swung its tail harshly. It slammed against the beasts head, it utilized the force to escape in the opposite direction. But it was too late. The instance that the little snack turned around, Yan Ze bit seven inches down the snakes head, shaking his head with it in his mouth.

The little snake immediately let out a shrinking hiss of defeat, its body twisted violently as it struggled instinctively.

Located seven inches down a Spiritual Snakes head was its heart, from the beast fangs impaling and shaking, bits of blood surged from it rushedly. But due to the fang blockading the exit and the halt in motion, the little snakes blood flew down slowly.

It was as if Shu Jintian could sense it, he whipped his head around to see the little snakes body poking out of the beasts blood-filled mouth on two sides. It resisted helplessly, blood trailed down the little snakes body, drawing a crimson red line of blood.

Shu Jintian met the little snakes eyes, the usual liveliness and wittiness in its eyes was no longer there, it looked back at him with pleading eyes for help.

Ah! Release him! Shu Jintian screamed derangly. He scrambled to his feet to catch the little snakes head, consoling it in a panic, Dont be scared, little snake, dad will save you!

Yan Ze lightly snorted but didnt move, as if he was watching a movie where the female father was watching his own child die in front of his eyes.

The little snake that had been sent flying violently hit its head on a tree trunk and fell to the ground. It could only slowly wriggle, watching with wide eyes as its female father and siblings fought with that huge monster. Although it tried its best to move its body, it just couldnt move an inch.

The little snake who had been bitten was visibly happier after seeing its female father, hope once more blooming in its eyes. Shu Jintian was out of his mind and just desperately pulled at the little snake. Since he could even see its deep green body segment within the beasts mouth, the only thought he had was that if only he could pull the little snake out, everything would be fine.

After being pulled by Shu Jintians, the little snakes eyes widened, and then bulged out, reflecting Shu Jintians face which was covered in specks of blood. The hope in its eyes gradually flowed away just like sand in an hourglass, until there was no more lustre, dully staring into nothing.

Feeling no more signs of life from the snake in his mouth, Yan Ze ferociously closed his mouth, biting down on its body and chewing it to be swallowed

The little snake was suddenly severed, and Shu Jintian who was pulling at the snakes bodies fell to the ground. At first he was delighted, but then although his vision was not too clear, Shu Jintian felt that something was not right with the snake he was holding. Lowering his head and taking a clearer look, he realised the little snakes completely torn apart body, with fresh blood surging out, staining his whole body.

AH! Shu Jintian cried like his heart was being torn, tears suddenly gushing out, yet it couldnt wash away the bloody world before him.

Ill take you down with me! Shu Jintian suddenly got up and threw a punch at Yan Zes head.

Yan Ze snorted and avoided him, snarling. Shu Jintians attack with all his strength missed, and his core was unstable, so he stumbled forward a few steps before barely steadying himself.

Female father was in danger! The little snake that was shaken off recovered a little. Seeing female father being bullied by the beastman, it hissed and dashed towards Yan Ze, using its voice to draw away the enemys focus on female father.

Sure enough, Yan Ze noticed the little snake and looked at it mockingly, waiting for it to come throw its life away.

There was a final one, and then everything would be resolved. As long as all the females children were murdered, the female would enter its estrus quickly, then obediently be with him and give birth to his children.

Shu Jintian also felt that something was amiss, and turned his head just to see the little snake rushing over as if unafraid of death. He immediately panicked.

Dont come, hurry up and leave, little snake! Shu Jintian snarled. Seeing that the little snake wasnt listening to him, even quickening its pace towards them, Shu Jintians panic grew.

Dont come! Im fine, he wont kill me. Go find your big snake dad, make him come save me! It did not matter whether this beastman would kill him; Shu Jintian just wanted the little snakes to live; even one that could survive was fine.

The little snake was also innately smart. Hearing female father say this, it also understood that this was the best solution now. But the little snake was also a little hesitant to leave female father alone here while it left.

The little snakes rushing speed finally stopped and it stood in place, staring at its female father.

Seeing that the little snake did not approach, Yan Ze was a little anxious. This matter should be resolved as soon as possible and not delayed. If he were to run into that terribly powerful Spiritual Snake now, it wouldnt be great.

Yan Ze couldnt withdraw in time and slammed into the female. The beastmans overly powerful force of impact threw Shu Jintian to the ground. Added with Shu Jintians grief and anger, a mouthful of blood sputtered out with a pu.

A rare instant of distress appeared in Yan Zes eyes, but it was only for an instant. The next moment, he mockingly restrained it.

The little snakes body trembled and it was about to rush towards female father.

Shu Jintian himself, however, did not care about his own situation at all, and shouted at the little snake, Dont bother with me, hurry up and run, little snake! Go ah!

Female father the little snake suddenly paused, looking at the faint wateriness in Shu Jintians eyes, yet with not a single tear shed, as if he was forcibly repressing them.

Female father, Ill definitely call male father over to save you! The little snake thought, and slithered off without even turning its head back.

Seeing this, Yan Ze wanted to give chase to the little snake, but one of his legs was being firmly held.

If you want to kill him, you have to get through me first! Shu Jintian raised his head to give Yan Ze a venomous glare. If eyes could turn into blades, Yan Ze would definitely be turned into mincemeat.

Yan Ze was frightened by Shu Jintians gaze and paused for a second.

In such a short time, the little snake was already submerged in the dark green forest, and its figure could no longer be seen with the naked eye.

Yan Ze angrily kicked Shu Jintian aside and gave him a warning glare. Then, he walked to the little snakes corpses, and then swept up the little snakes body in a mouthful and cruelly chewed it up and swallowed it down.

No! Dont! Shu Jintians heart spiked from his emotions and he vomited another mouthful of blood.

Shu Jintian wanted to stop the beastmans movements, but with his current body being overly injured, he was powerless to counterattack. Shu Jintian laid on the ground, staring helplessly as the wild beast ate the little snakes bodies, then chew bite by bite as blood that hadnt even dried from the little snakes bodies spilled out of the beasts mouth. Shu Jintians throat was choked with sobs; he wanted to cry but couldnt make a sound, and could only let out ugly sobs, like his throat was thoroughly blocked.

Yan Ze completely ignored the females sad calls, and instead, the sadder the female was, the happier he was. The excessive sorrow would rush the females estrus and would allow him to have his child even sooner. Moreover, this was also the children of his enemy, so he naturally wanted to eat them.

Stop! It! Shu Jintian cried with difficulty, his tone already containing pleading. He didnt want to think about anything at all, and just wanted the little snakes bodies to be intact.

But Shu Jintians pleading was utterly useless to Yan Ze. Yan Ze ate up every piece of the snake body on the ground before extending its tongue to lick up the blood on its mouth in satisfaction, walking towards Shu Jintian.

Shu Jintians face was like ash, and his eyes were dull. Only when he saw Yan Zes figure did his lifeless eyes suddenly produce an intense light of hatred.

Yan Ze did not care in the slightest, biting Shu Jintians clothes and fiercely tossing him to his back. Without even using its wings, it rapidly dashed into the forest with its four legs on the ground.

Shu Jintian was jerked to the point his vision turned dark. No longer able to hold on, he passed out.
