Cultivation Struggles of a Lowly Fox

Chapter 173 – Even half-asleep Aiko can defeat him!

Chapter 173 – Even half-asleep Aiko can defeat him!

Aiko yawned again. She was quite sick and tired of the enamoured expression the Inscription Saint had plastered on his face.

She wanted to shout "Get a room!", but she was so tired she abandoned those thoughts and just kept staring at him.

He noticed her gaze and glared back. He already learned Aiko's different eyes and so he knew accurately when she was cursing him!

Chen Shi really wished he could take Lady Liu away, but when he saw Liu Zhi moving towards Aiko and picking her up, his face momentarily turned ugly.

His romance plans deviated more and more, just because of a single Fox!

He begrudgingly stomped outside like an angry child with Lady Liu, his dislike and distaste were apparent in his expression, but there was just nothing he could do... unless...

The Inscription Saint went into the kitchen. He pulled out a lot of meat outside his Spacial Ring, with this he should be able to attract the attention of the little brat!

He cooked with glee, the aroma roused everyone from sleep.

The other Foxes went into the dining hall, where Lady Liu and Aiko were.

The dining hall was quite large, but the tables were lower to the ground. It seemed like this wing of the side palace, was made to match a different culture. It was strange and slightly out of place, but they didn't complain, since the Foxes were used to eating like this.

The room was lightly decorated, there were no fur carpets, but carpets made out of strange strands of wood.

The chairs were simple without any legs, just as the Foxes were used to.

The Blood Fox sat down and gazed towards Aiko, she was resting on Lady Liu's lap, not moving much, but after a few twitched of her nose she disappeared from Lady Liu's lap.

"Kya!" The Blood Fox was surprised that someone grabbed her tails, even with her superior senses.

The Blood Fox looked back, ready to tear the bastard that dared to touch her tails, but she could not find anyone.

She did her best to make her tail as fluffy as possible for Aiko, so she could tempt her to move away from Mei's tails, but because of this the Blood Fox was unable to see the sleeping Aiko inside her tails' fur.

The Blood Fox soon realised what was happening and shook her head. She found Aiko in her tails, but she was pretty much dead asleep.

The Blood Fox noticed Lady Liu with a crestfallen expression when Aiko left her. Liu Zhi really wanted to move seats and pet Aiko more, but etiquette would frown upon it...

"You can come closer." The Blood Fox smiled mischievously and Lady Liu pouted.

"Hmpf." She snorted unhappily, but she kept glancing towards Aiko.

It didn't take long for her to move next to the Blood Fox throwing her pride out of the window.

She would just indulge her inner thoughts this time, but there wouldn't be a next time!

This is what she believed, but all of them knew that she would come back for more of Aiko's silky-smooth fur.

...

Chen Shi finished cooking with a mean smile on his face, he had to make a sizeable dent in his fortune, but this would allow him to get rid of Aiko without upsetting Lady Liu.

This then would allow him to take Lady Liu into the city and have a pleasant shopping trip. Without the fox-shaped little rat drawing his love's attention away.

He moved the plates into the main room, whilst putting on the face he wore when he played Go to stop his opponents from reading his moves. He would not get caught, after having planned all of this!

Chen Shi placed the plates, but was confused as to why Liu Zhi sat in the wrong seat... he choked up when he saw Lady Liu petting the Passion Fox's Tails.

'This can't be happening.' Chen Shi's face crumbled and slowly morphed into one of defeat. He couldn't believe that Lady Liu would succumb to the charms of yet another lowly Fox...

"She is so cute when she sleeps~" Lady Liu hummed happily.

The Inscription Saint perked his ears. 'Who is she talking about?' He was confused.

He gazed at Lady Liu, but could not see Aiko. There was a strange sense of disconnect. Where was Aiko? What was she doing?

His mind was blank for a moment and then he gazed towards the Passion Fox, more specifically towards her tails.

There he could barely make out a piece of black fur. He knew that fur, that was Aiko’s fur.

Aiko moved from Lady Liu onto the Passion Fox's tails. That meant that he could in theory move Lady Liu and convince her to go shopping with him...

He looked towards the table, with plates full of delicious, but very expensive food...

A tear dripped down his cheeks and onto the floor. He wasted so much wealth to drive Aiko away, when all he had to do was bring her to the Passion Fox...

He suddenly felt so stupid. It seems love truly turned even the best of men into fools...

He even laughed at the Seniors who had fallen prey to the curse, but now he felt ashamed since he ended up exactly how they told him he would end up...

The Inscription Saint sat down wordlessly and picked up his chopsticks. He would eat his sorrows away for now, but he would have to find a way to store this food for later.

He expressionlessly ate the food, the taste barely coming across, when another ruckus attracted his attention.

Chen Shi looked right, where Lady Liu and the others sat. Lady Liu was eating happily, while covering her mouth, she was trying hard not to laugh.

The Inscription Saint was confused about what was so funny, so he looked over a bit more... which was a mistake.

Chen Shi nearly choked on the food he was chewing, what he saw was so ridiculous he had no words!

Aiko was currently lying down on Passion Fox's lap with her belly up.

The Passion Fox would take a piece of meat he so painstakingly prepared and gently waved it in front of Aiko.

The small half asleep Fox twitched, especially her nose twitched and soon her head launched like an arrow towards the chopsticks holding the meat.

The Passion Fox would let go of the meat and Aiko would devour it. Aiko then laid back down and without breaking her sleep.

This repeated many, many times, until the Inscription Saint's inner thoughts leaked out.

"What in the 18 hells!?" He was so flabbergasted that his mouth was completely wide open.

Lady Liu noticed his funny expression and finally laughed out loud.

The Inscription Saint blushed red, he was so embarrassed because of his conduct, but there was just nothing he could do about it, that sight was just so out of this world!

"Aaaaa." Lady Liu placed a piece of meat above her hand with her chopsticks and offered it to Chen Shi.

He blushed even more, but his self-restraint was easily broken by Lady Liu and he snatched that meat from those chopsticks.

"Thank you for the delicious meal~" Lady Liu smiled, blinding Chen Shi.

He felt like he was in heaven and wished this moment would last forever.

"We can do something today once I rest." Lady Liu smiled, while it was fun teasing him. It was not good to overdo it. She still liked him and it would make her heartbroken if their current relationship deteriorated.

Chen Shi smiled brightly, so brightly that Lady Liu blushed.

He hugged her when she was caught off-guard by his smile and Lady Liu didn't have any time to react to it.

After the hug, Chen Shi naturally returned to his place and ate his food happily, its taste returned and enhanced to the point reaching into divinity!

...

The Food was finished, and most was consumed by the half-sleeping Aiko, but Chen Shi didn't mind, he earned a whole day with Lady Liu without disturbances! That was worth more than those pieces of meat!

He happily left with Lady Liu for an outing, meanwhile, Aiko was still sleeping on Passion Fox's tails.

"Is she alright?" The Umbra Fox asked. She did not have the privilege to talk during the council, so she was pretty much silent all this time.

However, that didn't mean that she wasn't worried about Aiko, a bit of that Berserker Powder affected her mind and she wanted to tear everyone apart. She was left speechless once again from Aiko's willpower.

"I think so." The Blood Fox nodded gently. Aiko was just sleeping, her eyes were mostly back to normal. It was abnormal that she was not influenced by the Berserker Powder... or maybe she was affected, but she had a way to temporarily suppress it…?

At first, they were against the fact that Lady Liu wanted to take Aiko with herself, but they caved in when they saw her so happy. She was rarely so happy, so it would be too bad if they ruined that moment...

Aiko slept with Lady Liu and nothing happened, she didn't hurt her nor did she do anything else. They could breathe a sigh of relief once Aiko sought their tails.

This meant that she still liked them more than Lady Liu and she wouldn't abandon them.

"She looks... a bit bloated." The Umbra Fox commented.

"A bit, yeah... but she ate a lot of meat..." The Blood Fox stared at the more than 20, completely cleaned-up large plates.

"She is... a glutton." The Umbra Fox commented, but she didn't sound dissatisfied.

"We will have to work hard to feed her." The Blood Fox said simply.

"And she will provide us with all the Inscriptions she can." The Umbra Fox nodded. It was fine if Aiko didn't venture out and fight with others. This would allow them to raise her prestige without her... personality getting in the way. Once she was high enough on the pedestal, no matter her personality, everyone would praise her.

"What mischievous thoughts are you having?" The Blood Fox giggled.

"Nothing~" The Umbra Fox hummed, it seemed like their relationship was also good and they had no grievances.

"Well~, at the end of the day, we will listen to her." The Blood Fox giggled.

"En." The Umbra Fox nodded gently. They would always listen to her, since they were her servants...

...

They moved to their place. They slept close to each other, just in case there was an emergency.

Aiko's room was sandwiched between their rooms for maximum security. Sure, Aiko was stronger than they were, but they were supposed to do it like this since she was their Mistress.

Aiko was the most important person and they had to guard her with their lives. They did not mind the fact that they had an abnormal Mistress. They avoided so many unsavoury situations and possible corruption.

The Umbra Fox vowed to protect Aiko at all cost, since this life was simply unimaginable for her.

She had a Master that she admired for many, many years.

The Jade Fox was giving them Pills to protect themselves.

The Peak Elder had to respect them even when they didn't complete all that many missions.

It was truly a surreal feeling. She would cherish and protect this current situation at all cost! She would kill all her enemies without mercy!

The Blood Fox was not as extreme, she wanted to sway Aiko more, but that didn't mean she didn't want to protect Aiko, the end goal was still the same, the road was just slightly different...
