The Level 38's reward wasn't too incredible, but he was thankful to the Experience Points. Nonetheless, the stat increase in Level 39's reward was a lot higher so it gave him hope that the next levels would have a high stat increase.

Nonetheless, Shane was still happy with the Level 40 reward since it also meant that he could access more Memory Spheres later on.

With the two Evolution Stones in his possession, he could finally evolve Silver!

Apparently, his Metal Slime needed two Evolution Stones… Shane hasn't planned to give this to Silver yet since the Evolution will take quite some time. He really needed the Metal Slime's additional defense on his body, so he planned to proceed with the Evolution later on.

"Finish up looting them… The sixth horde will come soon." Shane muttered as he sensed that the buffering time of each horde was getting shorter and shorter.

After a while, the sixth horde had indeed made its approach...

"This… Aren't those creatures a bit too big!"

"I can see its head above the trees!"

"This is going to be difficult…"

"There shouldn't be many of them… We can do this."

The defenders couldn't help but feel pressured after seeing such huge Zombies. This was especially true for the new recruits. This was their first time seeing such massive Zombies!

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The ground trembled under the footsteps of four massive Giant Zombies approaching them. Thankfully, they were not accompanied by other Zombies, and the enemies were just the four of them.

However, it doesn't mean that it has become easy.

They have thick arms and legs with armor-like flesh and Any average arrows or bullets would fail to pierce through their skin.

As they noticed the Silver Mine Camp, they soon let out deafening roars as they charged forward!

Boom! Boom!

Their colossal strength was more than enough to shatter the camp's outer walls… But it wasn't easy for them, they were bombarded by the Automated Turrets… Furthermore, Shane was able to use his Armored Dash to bring one of them down!

This Giant Zombie had to kneel down, and with Shane's legendary Light Flameblade that was made out of Phoenix Copper, Shane was able to use its Inferno Burst effect which costs 200 Spirit Points!

[ Inferno Burst: With a swing of the blade, the wielder can unleash a torrent of fire, manifesting as powerful fireballs that scorch enemies in their path. The fireballs explode on impact, engulfing the target in searing flames. Cost: 200 Spirit Points. ]

All the fireballs went inside the Giant Zombie's mouth and heavily injured the Giant Zombie… To finish it up, Shane used Momentum Shift and with a slice of his sword, he was able to create a deep cut on the Giant Zombie's neck!

The heavy skull of the Giant Zombie led to downfall as its neck could no longer support it! Unfortunately, this Giant Zombie still fell forward!

Boom!

With a sickening crunch, the front walls splintered and collapsed under the weight of the Giant Zombie…

The remaining three seemed to be extremely annoyed by the two Automated Turrets that were constantly hitting their bodies.

The energy bullets were too weak to pierce through their skin, but they were causing them trouble in moving efficiently.

With their little intelligence, they decide to target the Turrets, ignoring even Shane in front of them.

However, it was a huge mistake on their part.

They didn't focus on the machine blocking their path!

Soon, their feet were caught up by the Grinder—a massive machine ready to rip through anything that came close!

These Giant Zombies lost their balance and were about to fall down!

Shane's eyes narrowed; this was the moment to go all-in. The others also realized that they could not let these Zombies fall forward once again!

Everyone worked together and shot at the Giant Zombies.

Shane, on the other hand, activated his Aura Mastery Talent.

A faint light appeared around his body before disappearing… However, an Aura has already covered his whole body, boosting his strength and resilience.

"Faster!"

With his Phantom Sprint, he propelled him upward until he reached the head of the nearest Giant Zombie. Using Shadow Hunt and Phantasm Rush, he moved with ghostly speed, flickering around the Giant's head as he struck them, not to kill but to push them!

With his Momentum Shift and Vortex Spin that allowed him to move to any direction he wanted, he was able to move around quickly and deal with the other Giant Zombies as well!

The creatures roared after realizing that it was receiving a more concentrated assault from the shelter…

They tried flailing their massive arms to swat Shane away, but in the end, they all slipped as their fee had also been grounded…

Roooarrrr!

Shane also felt dizzied from the roars of the Zombies, so he activated his own Titan's Roar and unleashed a deafening blast. This action recovered his senses and also stunned the Giant Zombies momentarily.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

As the three Giant Zombies collapsed on their back, they flesh were continuously being grinded by the the machine, creating a lot of mess in the surroundings.

Seizing the opening, Shane activated Brawler's Fury and unleashed a barrage of powerful strikes that broke through its skull.

[ You have eliminated a Giant Zombie. ]

The second Giant Zombie also suffered the same thing but Shane had to dodge a few attacks as it swung its enormous arm at him.

He couldn't complete the nine punches of the Brawler's Fury, so he had to do it again from the start since he had leaped backward, barely dodging the crushing blow.

Without the Exosuit, every move required all his focus and agility. He might have been able to take a few punches from the Giant Zombies, but he didn't want to do so as much as possible since his armor still had limited durability and the Zombie Wave still had more than six hours to go.

The battle would just become more and more intense from now on.

Shane then used his Telekinesis to propel himself upward, positioning himself just above the second Giant's head. Then, with his Momentum Shift, he dropped himself on the head of the Giant Zombie!

Boom!

With his Aura Mastery amplifying his strength, he kicked straight through the thick skull of the Giant, ending its rampage.

[ You have eliminated a Giant Zombie. ]

He then felt a threat behind him and saw the last Zombie targeting him. This creature was already filled with arrows, and its feet were already shredded by the Grinder.

Shane quickly dodged its massive arm as it tried grabbing him and crush him into pieces.

However, with Shane's speed, he wasn't too worried at all. He swiftly summoned one of his Silver Sword and channeled his Aura on the sword. Then he hurled the sword with the help of his Telekinesis, guiding it straight into the Giant Zombie's eye.

Thud!

The Silver Sword was able to pierce through its tough eyelid and destroy its eye!

However, it didn't go deep enough to kill the Giant Zombie.

Nonetheless, it was enough.

Shane noticed that the others were eager to kill the Giant Zombie, so he gave them a signal to finish it off.

Just like that, the heavily injured Giant who could no longer stand up was held at bay by the ten elves. They unleashed volley after volley of arrows, aiming for its head and joints. At the same time, Diana's and Sandra's Legendary Summons joined the fray.

Gregor, the Axe User, charged forward with his enormous Epic-Grade Axe, cleaving through the Giant Zombie's tough skin. Beside him, Kaela, the Halberd User, used her swift skills and sliced deep wounds with each well-placed strike.

Well, Shane wanted them to have such battle experience at the very least. Furthermore, he wanted to observe their abilities.

'They're actually doing well... They can slice through that skin with ease...' Shane muttered as he realized that these two legendary summons were also capable of using Aura, or at the very least, something similar to Aura that could boost their power.
