Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 423 The Zombie Wave ( 6 )

Shane watched the two in action.

Since he would also leave this shelter after this Zombie Wave, he also wanted to properly assess the strength of the people who would be left here.

Bam!

Gregor hacked at the Giant's wrist to ensure that it could no longer grab anyone. The Zombie began to flail even more, but it was no longer a threat.

It didn't take that long before Kaela delivered a decisive slash across its neck. It may not be enough to sever the head of the Zombie, but it was already a critical injury.

The creature soon lost all of its momentum, and they could even just leave it to the Grinder to finish the job.

But to make it faster, Kaela's halberd pushed further into the skull of the Giant Zombie…

Ssaaakkk~

Soon, the Giant Zombie's body became limp and could no longer move. It was also at this time that Kaela received a message about the confirmed death of the Zombie…

Crunch~

Nonetheless, the sound of bone and flesh being shredded filled the air as the Grinder tore through the massive body. Shane even had to stop the Grinder from making any more ground flesh.

"Whew~"

The defenders let out a collective sigh of relief as the last of the Giant Zombies fell.

These Giant Zombies were truly scary because of their sheer size. They knew very well that if it was any other Survivor leading them, they would have a hard time dealing with it.

They might have to escape this camp and fight the next Zombie Horde until the end of the Zombie Wave while moving or asking for other shelter's assistance.

Shane then surveyed the remains of the battlefield… There was no casualty, and that was what mattered the most. Although the wall was destroyed in the process, it was still a good result.

There were only a few injured, and the Healing Stones he distributed should have been more than enough to deal with this issue. For those who could move, Shane immediately instructed them to repair it.

After giving his commands to the workers and combatants of the camp, Shane finally turned his attention to the three Giant Zombies he had just looted. He actually hesitated whether to use his Lootkeeper's Timepiece but in the end, he decided to just loot these Giant Zombies naturally.

[ You have earned 100 Experience Points. ]

[ You have earned 3 Reputation Points. ]

[ Loots obtained: Item Upgrade Crystals x5, Zombie Cores x5, 100mL Giant Zombie Blood, Spirit Breakthrough Bottle x2, Decayed Giant's Tooth, Giant's Hide, Titan's Elixir, Giant's Heart ]

The other two Giant Zombies dropped that same thing, allowing him to obtain more hide, which he could use to create leather armor.

Anyway, Shane somehow felt hungry after all of this fighting. He had already sent most of his unknown but safe meat to be cooked by the assigned chefs.

This will be his first meal since the start of the Zombie Wave.

As soon as he arrived at the trailer that distributes food for everyone, Shane immediately took a set of meals to replenish his energy... It was a set of grilled meat and soup made of various vegetables, and there was even some food that could be found in MREs. Diana and the others seemed to find them in their Survivor Store and added them to the meal plan.

Anyway, Shane believed that the next wave would at least arrive in the next 20 minutes, so he decided to be quick on this so he could also assist with the temporary repair of the wall.

This time, there were no Lily and Elsa, who could manipulate wood and water, so it would be a lot harder to make the temporary wall. However, with their premade walls and other supports, they still have a way to make it work.

In the meantime, as Shane and his team worked to repair the damaged palisade, patching gaps with sturdy, premade barriers, a figure observed their every move from the cover of shadow.

This figure was able to avoid Shane and even Cloud's detection as it wasn't too suspicious at all.

Apparently, the one observing them was a bat!

Through its sharp, crimson eyes, Statham, the mysterious vampire lord, studied Shane's defenses…

He had deliberately woken up from his slumber during this Zombie Wave since he knew that it was the perfect time to cause trouble with little effort.

"So, he's this strong already… much quicker than anticipated." Statham muttered, leaning back against the cold stone walls of the shelter he had taken over. Around him lay the bodies of former survivors, drained of life.

The stench of blood lingered in these walls, but he didn't mind it at all…. His eyes were focused on the images fed to him by the bat, entranced by the aura Shane and his team emanated even from afar.

A cold smile twisted Statham's lips. "What kind of Legendary Talent could he possess to have grown so powerful so quickly?"

Statham paused for a moment as he considered Shane's talent as related to his mechanic skills. After all, the Turrets, the Exosuits, and the Grinder were something that other shelters couldn't possess at all.

It was basically unique to Shane's territory.

However, mechanic-related ability shouldn't allow him to obtain so much speed, strength, and vitality.

'This is weird… Is it possible that he has already obtained another talent… And probably another Legendary at that?' Statham frowned since it took him a long time to obtain his second Legendary Talent during his days in the Vampire's Rise Apocalypse.

Furthermore, he even had to side with the Vampires to obtain his second Legendary Talent.

Statham could only envy Shane a little with his incredible luck.

After all, just from a glance, his Vampiric instinct could tell that the life force of the man was incredibly high, possibly even higher than him, which was very confusing.

"No matter. Once he's mine, his strength will be mine as well." The thought of making Shane his Blood Slave thrilled him, yet he needed to be cautious for now since entering his Zombie Apocalypse Realm had weakened him a lot.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

He initially thought that his weakened power was more than enough to conquer this world since Level 50 shouldn't be common yet...

However, Shane's appearance truly disrupted his plans, so he had to recover his strength. Rushing in unprepared could be disastrous, and he could no longer underestimate this mysterious rank 1 Zombie Apocalypse's Survivor.

Instead, he turned his attention to the other shelters in the area, to recover his power and increase his army.

In terms of building an army, he was confident that he had a better ability than Shane, and it was only a matter of time before he could fight once again.

Soon, he found his next target.

"Mhmm… This Clan looks strong…" Statham muttered as he licked his lips.

The shelter that caught his eye was owned by the Thunder Tribe.

According to his scouts, this was a fierce Clan that was ranked among the continent's top 20. Their elite members were known for lightning-based talents.

He knew that this tribe would present a challenge, but if he could weaken them while they fought the Zombie Horde, they could be easy prey. Once they become his slaves, his army's strength would increase even further.

Whoosh~

Transforming into a bat, Statham's form dissipated into a dark mist before materializing into the creature of the night.

His wings spread wide as he took flight, soaring toward the Thunder Tribe's stronghold that his scouts found for him…

He arrived just as the 8th Zombie Horde surged against the shelter's defenses.

"Let's watch for now…" He muttered as he observed the strength of the Clan.

The tribe's leader could wield bolts of blue electricity from his fingertips. He was the main attacker for the Clan as he stood steady on the walls alongside his vice leader, who commanded black lightning.

The two of them unleashed storm after storm upon the waves of Crusher Zombies, Jumper Zombies, and Flasher Zombies.

The surroundings were filled with the scent of charred flesh because of this method of combat.

Nonetheless, it was very effective.

"Go ahead and spend all your Spirit Points…" Statham muttered to himself as he watched the battle get intense.

Your next journey awaits at empire

He wasn't just here to be cautious; he was here to conquer this territory.

Silently hovering above the shelter, he bided his time as the Zombie Horde slowly wore down the Thunder Tribe's warriors.

Soon, their barricades cracked, and exhaustion began to creep into their lines.

"Almost there…"

Statham felt the perfect moment drawing closer. As the horde broke through their outer defenses and pushed the tribe to its limit, he finally descended and summoned all of his Blood Slaves, casting a dark shadow over the battlefield.

The Thunder Tribe's leader's eyes widened as he noticed the vampire's dark form appearing through the sky.

"A vampire—now of all times?!"

He felt so unlucky, but thanks to the warning from the Regional Chat, he at least made some preparations for this scenario!
