Infinite Potential System

Chapter 461 Introductions

Some students smirked, while others looked at Professor Tenningbrew in shock. While it was indeed true that modifying one's Mana Circuits was extremely dangerous if done incorrectly, the fact was that their own Families had gone through the school before.

They knew the risks, and some of their doting parents had even taught them a little about how to modify their Mana Circuits on their own. If their first year focused on Mana Circuits, it could be said that these students had an advantage!

William and the other Commoners were the only exceptions. They would have to place their full faith on Professor Tenningbrew, and incorrectly modifying their Mana Circuits could spell disaster at any moment.

System, do you have a Talent for this?

-The Mana Dominator Talent would be your greatest asset, but it is disabled in this area. You're on your own.

William nodded in understanding and listened to Professor Tenningbrew.

"Now that I've explained the purpose of this course and I've introduced myself, it's your turn!" the Professor pointed to the back left corner where only two desks were present, then flipped his hand and lifted his pointer finger up as a gesture for the other party to stand.

The students turned their heads in unison to see a grim-faced man about twenty or twenty-one. He had dark brown, disheveled hair and there were dark circles under his eyes. The most notable feature was the pair of grey sweatpants dotted with a few food stains.

The man clearly didn't care about his outward appearance at all.

Now that's my kind of dude! William's eyes glimmered.

Amidst the greyscale school of well-behaved (mostly) and respectful students, the guy in the corner was like a dot of color that enhanced Filem's vibrancy.

Despite being asked to stand, the student remained seated, speaking in a calm but slightly annoyed tone. "Call me Shine."

"Shine? He definitely looks like a ray of sunshine, doesn't he..." the other students murmured to one another. They didn't hear this name during the entrance exam, which meant Shine had joined the school through some special means.

"If you've got a problem with my name, you can fuck off." his glare was like a storm that destroyed all secondary thoughts.

"Shine! Would you like to say something about yourself?" Professor Tenningbrew looked at him with a smile.

"No."

"...Alright then. Next!" the Professor pointed to the only desk next to Shine's, where a snub-nosed girl sat.

She was wearing a single Space Ring almost as wide as her ring finger was long, and it was obvious at a glance that her ego was unparalleled.

"You should already know me, but if you live under a rock, I'm Yuhe Slightwing. My Family built this school up to what it is now, and we've even—"

"Thanks, Yuhe! Who's next?" Tenningbrew looked to the next seat in the room while Yuhe huffed in anger.

One after the other, the new students introduced themselves, including Odessa and Mikaela who barely said anything other than their names. Despite their natural beauty, however, all eyes were on the boy in between them, whose mental clash with the exam proctor had become a hot topic among the new students.

"I'm curious about you." Professor Tenningbrew said as he stepped closer to William. "Rarely does the Slightveil Plane see a naturally Ascended Cultivator, and it's even more uncommon that they are young enough to attend school. Tell me, who are you and which Family do you hail from?"

One of the students gasped, "An Ascender, I was wondering what that weird aura was! It all makes sense now!"

"You idiot, shut up!" a boy hissed while jabbing his friend in the gut.

William answered, "My Family doesn't carry a last name. I just got lucky."n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Hmm, I see." Tenningbrew didn't press the matter further. The exam proctor had seen William's memories, but part of the school's policies was to not reveal the experiences of the students unless it would endanger the school, so Tenningbrew wouldn't find out no matter how many times he asked.

"Of course he would be Commoner trash. I had a feeling when his last name wasn't on the score sheet, but now that he said it there can't be any other reason. He's even an Excellent... why are the Commoners always so lucky?" a boy groaned from the side.

The other students also looked at William strangely, but interacting with trash was beneath them. They decided to work hard this year and show William just how wide the gap was between a lucky Commoner like him, and talented geniuses like them.

While the rest of the students were introducing themselves, William suddenly received a System notification.

-A Cultivator is preparing to Ascend in your World. Arrange a suitable Tribulation for them.

Shit! This isn't a good time! William looked around the room wildly, then raised his hand.

"What is it?" the Professor looked at William in confusion.

"I have to use the restroom."

A few snickers resounded around the room. One of the boys leaned in to whisper to his friend, resulting in a series of chuckles on the side.

"Since when do Ascension Realm Cultivators need to use the bathroom?"

"I don't know man, must be a Mortal thing."

Professor Tenningbrew coughed, "If it's something like that, don't bother asking me. You're responsible for what you miss in class."

William nodded and rushed out of the door, ignoring the ensuing laughter while he searched for a latrine.

Thankfully, not every attendee of the school was in the Ascension Realm. There were even a few teenagers in the Soul Formation Realm that still needed to use the bathroom once in a while. He quickly found an empty bathroom and sat cross-legged on the toilet, sending his incarnation into the World Efretta.

"Hey, it's you." a red-haired beauty clad in leather looked to the sky as she spoke.

"Ancestor Efretta." William said with unconcealed surprise. It was obvious that she was the reason for the System message, meaning she had already reached the peak of the Tribulation Transcendence Realm and was ready to reach the next Realm.

He wanted to ask how she had Cultivated so fast, but then again, she had lived for a long time. It wouldn't be surprising if she reached the Initial Deity Realm in less than a year.

"Prepare the strongest Tribulation you can come up with. I need a lot of Mana to support my Technique." Efretta ordered.

William looked at Efretta strangely, "I'll do what I can, but are you sure?"

He was in school right now, so conducting such a large-scale Tribulation might be risky. He'd prefer not to attract any more attention while he could, the teachers were already suspicious of his status as both an Ascender and an Excellent Cultivator.

Combined with his age, William was a true anomaly. If they were to discover that he already had a World capable of Ascending Cultivators, they might label him as a spy or worse.

-I'll conceal your Mana Signature while you conduct her Tribulation, just this once. Otherwise, you will be discovered by the Principal.

Thanks.

"I'm sure. Go for it!" Efretta assumed William wasn't confident in her skills. She gathered a weakened version of the Primary Laws around her body, preparing herself for what was to come.
