Chapter 619: Chapter 619 - A Staff for the Star
Leon, Freya, and Ronald stayed at Melliandra's residence for two nights, and during that short stay, they managed to forge a strong bond with both Melliandra and King, who had joined them on the second night.
Melliandra dared Leon to play a classic fighting game with her, using a retro game controller. Though Leon had no prior experience with such games, the bet was simple: if he won just one match out of thirty attempts, Melliandra would have to act as a "good girl" for the next 24 hours.
To everyone's surprise-especially Melliandra's-Leon managed to snatch a single victory after countless losses.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"I'll kill you, Leon! You're cheating! You can't possibly win against me. I let my guard down!" Melliandra yelled.
Leon smirked, holding back a laugh.
"How exactly did I cheat? This is literally my first time playing Tekken." He then reminded her, "And didn't you promise? One win from me, and you'd act as a good girl for 24 hours."
"I don't want to accept this! Fight me one more time!"
Leon leaned back, amused. "A promise is a promise, Melliandra. You lost. And, need I remind you, there are three witnesses here." He gestured toward Freya, Ronald, and King.
King nodded slowly. "He's right. You agreed to the terms, Mell."
"King! Aren't you supposed to support me? He's cheating, isn't he?"
King shook his head. "I'm sure, Leon won fair and square."
It was a short visit, but it left behind warm and enjoyable memories of shared moments with everyone.
Ronald announced that their next journey would begin in a few days and would involve taking a plane, as the destination was abroad. With that plan set, the group decided to return home for a short break. Leon followed suit, heading back to his residence after being away from Lily for an entire week.
When Leon stepped into the living room, suitcase in hand, he found Lily lounging on the couch, her eyes glued to the television.
"How are you, Lily?"
Lily's eyes lit up when she saw him.
"Leon! I had no idea you'd be back so soon! Freya just sent me a message saying you guys were on your way!"
"Well, here I am. Did you miss me?"
"Of course I did!" Lily replied. "The house has been so quiet without you around."
On that day, Leon made sure to dedicate a few hours to spending time with her. They enjoyed
a meal together and hung out at the café on the top floor of the hotel, taking in the city skyline.
It was the first time Lily had truly been on her own and away from him for such an extended period, and he couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt. Knowing he would be heading abroad with Ronald and Freya in just a few days only added to that feeling.
Since they had no close family except for their uncle, Leon had suggested Lily stay at Ben's house while he was away. But she had politely refused.
"I'll have a field trip for two days, and it happens to be at the same time you're going abroad." "Oh, really? It sounds like you're enjoying your new school activities, huh?"
"Yes, this is the best thing I've ever experienced. So I think you can relax and focus on your work without worrying about me."
Leon had briefly considered inviting her to join him on this trip, but knowing she had plans with her classmates eased his mind.

As soon as Broken logged back into the game, he found himself in his workshop. The environment around him came into sharp focus, and his eyes quickly landed on Starfall, who was seated comfortably in the corner of the room.
"Hello there!" She greeted him.
"Hi..." Broken replied softly.
Starfall had remained committed to observing the entire crafting process. While she had only managed to be present for about 70% of the time due to her busy schedule.
Despite having nothing to do during her visits, she was content simply to sit and watch, leaving Broken undisturbed.
Today marked the final stages of crafting the item. As noon approached, Broken informed Starfall that only the finishing touches remained. Excited, she moved closer to the
workstation.
Broken had just finished the final hammer stroke when a burst of greenish energy radiated
from the newly crafted magic staff.
"Is it a Unique grade?"
"Yes," Broken replied. "It's unique."
"Thank you! I'm so happy... I couldn't have hoped for anything better than this."
She quickly shared the item details in the guild chat, and as expected, responses flooded in almost immediately.
"Wow, that's amazing! You can craft a Unique-grade item so easily, ha ha ha," Booba was the first to comment.
"When will it be my turn?" Optimus chimed in.
"You're always busy with yourself. How could it possibly be your turn, you idiot!" Jovina said.
"I wouldn't mind if you crafted something similar for me too, Master, Khi khi khi."
"Yes, I'd like a new weapon as well," Elincia said.
"I should have a turn as well," Toberry said.
"And what exactly did your contribution to the expedition achieve, Toberry?" Jovina responded. "Starfall said you were killed by those monsters without even putting up a fight.
Ha ha ha!"
"I didn't say that!" Starfall said.
Starfall studied the stats and skills of her newly crafted Magic Staff, her face glowing with happiness as she admired its beauty.
"Broken... how much do I have to pay? I don't mind whatever price you name. I'm truly grateful for this opportunity," she said earnestly.
Broken paused, thinking carefully before answering. "Typically, a Unique-grade weapon costs between 250 and 350 gold. That's the standard price range I've gathered from others." The price included the materials and blueprint, which Starfall was already aware of. Still, she hesitated, not wanting to undervalue Broken's skills.
"What if I pay the optimal price of 350 gold?" Starfall asked quietly. "Would that be okay with
you?"
"Isn't that a bit high?"
Without hesitation, she replied, "No... I think that's the right price."
"Okay, then..." he agreed.
Starfall's face lit up with joy as she embraced the Magic Staff, holding it close like a cherished
treasure.
At that moment, the door to the workshop creaked open, drawing their attention. Melliandra stood there, arms crossed and an impatient look on her face.
"Hey... are you guys done yet? I've been waiting forever."
Starfall laughed softly, still clutching the staff. "Yes, Melliandra, we're finished now."
Broken smirked faintly. "Is there something you need?"
Melliandra stepped inside. "Need? Don't you think it's time to craft something for me?"

(Author's Note:)
I know, I know-the past few chapters have been all about warm moments and guild bonding. Don't hate me, okay?
Don't worry though, the calm is about to make way for chaos (you know, the kind that gets
your blood pumping). I
And as always, Power Stone and Golden Ticket goes a long way in keeping the story alive. Thanks for sticking with the Vensalor Guild! (0
