Chapter 853 Four Pillars: Alone

Chapter 853  Four Pillars: Alone

Making his way out of his tent with Hal and Vera, Valyr was slightly caught off guard as he noticed that their surroundings had already become dark.

Recalling that he had spent around a month or so with Sellifer during the process of Concept Impartation, the young man inwardly nodded to himself before shifting his gaze back to the two before him.

"You've really made up your minds, huh?" asked Valyr, his gaze calm.

Though he was left at a slight loss for words after Hal broke the news that they would be leaving the inheritance back at the tent, the young man was already expecting it to happen sooner or later.

After all, ever since Faulus and Loreina left the three of them to return back to Veldanyr, about seven months had already passed since then.

With how they've spent a few more days in the inheritance after their departure, the young man felt like it wouldn't be long until they would be away from Veldanyr for an entire year.

'I sure hope that isn't the case,' thought the young man to himself, feeling the urge to take a look at his status screen to see how much time remained.

However, with how he was talking to the two, Valyr decided to set the matter aside for the meantime.

Taking in a deep breath to make it seem like he was gathering his thoughts, he gave the two a faint nod as he asked them a question. "Any reason as to why?"

"Well, with us having completed our final quests from this place, there's not much else the inheritance could offer us," replied Hal, eliciting a nod from Vera in agreement.

Hearing that, Valyr nodded in understanding. "That makes sense. Did you already claim the rewards from the Gates of Awakening, though?"

"Not yet." Hal shook his head. "We plan on heading to the Gates of Awakening after this conversation to claim all of them before directly making our way back to Veldanyr."

Understanding what they planned on doing, the young man nodded in once more as he gave them a faint smile. "I'm sure the two of you will be able to obtain amazing inheritances from the Hall of Legends and Myths."

"I sure hope so." Hal chuckled in response. "There's also another place the quest rewards gave us access to called the Realm of Myriad Experiences, but we'll find that out once we get there."

"How about you, Valyr?" asked Vera after Hal was done talking. "What are you planning to do now that we're planning on leaving?" n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

At those words, Valyr gave a bitter smile. "To be honest, I would have liked to join you guys in returning to Veldanyr with how long we've already been gone from that place."

"But there's still a few more things that I've yet to finish in this place. Before then, I don't think I'll head back yet."

"Better get it sorted as quickly as possible, then," said Hal in response, to which Valyr nodded in agreement. "After all, with how much we've obtained from the inheritance, our aid will undoubtedly prove beneficial in the skirmish against the orcs."

"You could definitely say that again." Valyr smiled in response.

After that, the three talked about a few more things regarding the outside world for a bit more, such as what plans the two had after they returned to Veldanyr.

During that conversation, Hal and Vera also congratulated Valyr on upgrading his Intent Seed into a proper Intent, leaving the young man with no choice but to smile back in response.

Eventually, the three felt that it was time for them to part ways, causing the atmosphere surrounding them to turn somewhat somber.

"I suppose this is farewell for now," said Hal, with Vera saying something similar soon after.

"May we see each other back in Veldanyr," replied Valyr, gazing at the two as he wished them safe travels.

"May we see each other back in Veldanyr."

Whoosh!

As the three embraced each other for quite some time, the two conjured a rift that would bring them to the Gates of Awakening.

Giving Valyr one last glance, Hal and Vera eventually took the step that brought them into the familiar courtyard, finally leaving the man alone in the temporary camp that used to house three.

"Haah…" Watching as the rift the two conjured closed in on itself, Valyr let out a long sigh as he sat on one of the seats surrounding the makeshift fire pit the three of them had made.

Staring up at the sky to look at the moon, the young man closed his eyes for a bit before willing the system to bring up his status screen.

Ding!

Hearing the ever-familiar chime resound in his mind, Valyr shifted his attention towards the bottom of the screen, noticing that only a bit over 100 days remained before the first version of Greater Beyond was released.

"Closing in on nine months, huh," murmured Valyr to himself as he closed the screen he had just brought up.

After that, he decided to eat some more of the food he and the others were enjoying earlier as he sorted out the various thoughts that were going on in his head.

With about three months or so back in Veldanyr left before the first batch of players would begin to roll in, Valyr felt that he needed to speed things up whilst he was still in the inheritance.

With that, he pondered whether he should head to the Gates of Awakening first and make use of all the remaining time he had in the Realm of Myriad Experiences to bolster his skills.

After all, a considerable number of his skills had reverted back to Level 1 thanks to Azure Energy, meaning that he had yet to see them at their full power.

Then, there was the thought of heading down right now to fight against the feral humans to obtain the authority and kill count necessary to enter the Gates of Transcendence.

Unsurprisingly, as the second option came to mind, the young man immediately drafted up a plan on what he was going to do in order to leave the inheritance as soon as possible.

Taking a look at his spatial bracelet to see if he still had potions aplenty, Valyr took in a deep breath before plunging down into the streets below.

Now that there was nothing to restrict him…

It was time for Valyr to show the inheritance what he was truly capable of.
