Chapter 266: Emergency Surgery
Chapter 266: Emergency Surgery
Something had clearly happened to the boy, and it seemed the children had met the same fate.
Yao Ran looked at the ruins thoughtfully for a moment before she approached the charred remains of the building and began searching for clues.
She searched through the debris for half an hour but found nothing. Just as she decided to leave and inform Long Yu and the others, something caught her eye.
Yao Ran quickly squatted down and began moving debris aside. After two minutes of effort, she uncovered a child lying motionless, covered in dust and ash.
Without hesitation, she reached out and checked his pulse. Sensing the faint pulse, she immediately took out a cup of diluted lake water and carefully fed it to the child. Afterward, she carried him, and Yao Ran left the villa without delay.
Back at the villa, Yao Ran hurriedly carried the injured child to an empty bedroom on the third floor. Seeing her rush upstairs, Mother Han grew worried and followed her.
Yao Ran pushed the door open with her shoulder and gently placed the child on the bed. As she began inspecting his injuries, Mother Han entered the room.
Seeing the little boy lying unconscious, covered in dried blood and dust, Mother Han gasped in surprise and asked, "Miss Yao, what happened to this child?"
Yao Ran didn't answer her and asked back, "Auntie Han, could you get my medicine box from my bedroom?"
From the boy's appearance, Mother Han could tell his condition was critical. Without hesitation, she nodded and replied, "I will get it right away."
After Mother Han left, Yao Ran took out another cup of diluted lake water and carefully fed it to the child, hoping to stabilize his condition.
Although the diluted lake water had a weaker healing effect, Yao Ran worried the boy might not be able to withstand the potency of the undiluted version, so she could only give him the diluted version.
Just as Yao Ran finished feeding the water to the boy and stored the cup back in her space, Mother Han returned with the medicine box.
"Miss Yao, here is your medicine box." Mother Han said, placing it on the bedside table.
"Thank you." Yao Ran replied. She opened the box, took a pair of scissors, and began cutting the boy's tattered clothes.
Noticing that the dirty fabric was stuck to his wounds, Yao Ran said, "Auntie Han, could you prepare some hot water and a clean towel?"
Mother Han nodded and hurriedly left the room. Soon, she returned with a basin of hot water and a clean cotton towel.
Yao Ran dampened the towel and gently wiped away the dust and blood from the little boy's body. Then, she took a bottle of alcohol from the medicine box.
Since the boy was unconscious, she didn't give him any anesthesia. She poured the alcohol onto the fabric stuck to his wounds and carefully peeled it away.
After ten minutes of cleaning the wounds, she could finally see the wounds clearly. When Mother Han caught sight of the injuries, her face turned pale with shock.
Noticing her reaction, Yao Ran said, "Auntie Han, could you prepare more hot water? I need to suture his wounds."
Still trembling, Mother Han stammered, "I-I will go right away."
The boy had two bullets lodged in his shoulder, more than three deep gashes across his back, and signs of internal bleeding. After Mother Han left, Yao Ran wasted no time. She sterilized the room and herself, then began the surgery.
Two hours later, Long Yu and his team returned with two trucks filled with supplies. They had spent the morning searching the Shan Wu Resort area, scavenging a large haul of supplies from the residential area. With their excellent result today, Long Yu planned another trip after sunset to explore the commercial area and search for water.
Stepping down from the truck, Long Yu instructed, "Move the supplies to the warehouse. A Xuan, make sure to record everything."
Shi Xuan nodded, "Yes, Captain."
While the others transported the supplies to the underground storage room in the backyard, Long Yu entered the villa.
Noticing it was unusually quiet, he raised an eyebrow and headed upstairs, calling out, "Ran Ran?"
On the third floor, Mother Han heard him and stepped to the railing. She looked at him and said, "Captain, Miss Yao is performing surgery at this moment."
Long Yu's expression changed instantly when he heard this. He quickly went upstairs and asked, "What happened?"
Mother Han shook her head, visibly anxious, and said, "I don't know the full details. Miss Yao went out for about an hour this morning and returned with an injured child. The boy was in terrible condition, and Miss Yao has been in surgery ever since, trying to save him."
Listening to Mother Han's explanation, Long Yu had a suspicion forming in his mind.
He glanced at the room with the closed door and said, "I will stay here and keep watch. Auntie Han, you can go back and prepare lunch."
Mother Han, unable to assist further, nodded, "Alright. Call me if you need anything. I will be downstairs."
Long Yu acknowledged her with a nod, and Mother Han left to prepare lunch for everyone. Inside the room, Yao Ran was doing everything in her power to pull the boy back from the brink of death.
Three hours later, she finally completed the surgery. After cleaning up and feeding the boy half a cup of diluted lake water, Yao Ran went into her space to take a bath and wash the blood
from her body.
When she left her space and opened the door, Long Yu immediately approached her and hugged her tightly. After a moment, he stepped back and inspected her from head to toe to ensure she was unharmed.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Seeing that she was all right, he asked, "Auntie Han said you brought back an injured boy. Is he one of the children protected by the boy with fire element ability?"
