Chapter 48: High Elder, Jasper Exolus (2)

"Now, why don't we get straight to business, shall we?"
Eclipse said nonchalantly but his gaze are glaring holes at the old man who seats on the opposite side.
Rheina, on the other hand, keep quiet on his side but still cautious within her surroundings and the world-hopper couldn't blame the woman since that's her nature to be cautious with everything around her.
'In my millennium years of world-hopping journey, I have met countless of people, especially, women who were independent and could take up the challenges in their life, most of them have potential but sadly because they were under the script, they have roles that needs to be fulfilled and their talents has been buried in accordance with the script.'
Sometimes, Eclipse couldn't help but to have a thought.
'If the worldlines could have been freed from their designated role, what could have happened? Also, why was the job of the world-hopper to transmigrate into the body of random hosts and not only that, doing tasks that could fulfill the requirements of the designated task?'
This is what Eclipse was thinking about for the whole time but no matter what he thought, he couldn't get an answer to those questions as well.
He snapped from those thoughts once more and focused on the matters at hand.
"You said back at the secret chamber of the Hall of Legacy, you don't know anything about what my mother's been doing and you told me that Project Terix was my mother's idea, am I right?"
Laxurus; "Yes, I don't know anything about the Project Terix your mother was pertaining to, and she just told me that you will only know about it if you have reached that place."
Eclipse thought by the word [that place], he conclude that it's within the secret chamber of the Hall of Legacy but what this old man was saying that it's a different kind of place.
"If I analyze correctly from your statement, that place is a different kind of place… Am I right?"
Laxurus nodded and continued; "However, I don't have an idea about that place either. Your mother is being secretive about this. She only just said that you will know once you reach that place but how? She didn't leave any clue about it! Also, She's quite daring to confront me like that! I see you inherited that bravery from your mother!
Haha!"
'That place? Where could that be?'
Eclipse sighed in frustration because he doesn't know what to think anymore and the more, he thinks, the more headaches come.
He looked back at the old who keeps on talking nonsense things after he said those words and revealed some information that he was lacking to find.
Eclipse couldn't stay in this place any longer and he needs to go back to the manor, even if he despise going back but for now, he doesn't have a choice since it seems like he had caught the attention of that b*stard of a Crown Prince!
After a minute had passed, Eclipse stood up from his seat, followed by Rheina who didn't speak for the entire time and only listening to the conversation but still on guard.
"You're going to leave? Why not stay here for another day? I'll inform the Chevalier manor about this…."
Eclipse cut him off midway through his sentence; "No need. You know there is a saying that; The walls have ears. I don't want to attract the attention of anyone around me, especially that d*mn Crown Prince!"
If he were to choose, he wanted nothing here and leave this d*mn Empire for all he care but he couldn't just leave right away but he needed to move out from that manor as soon as possible.
Laxurus, who was cut off by Eclipse, snorted as he exclaimed; "Geez! You sure is a one heck of a rude cheeky b*stard, aren't you?! I'm offering hospitality for you, and you dare to decline it?!"
Eclipse looked back at the old man with his bored expression; "Hospitality coming from you? No, thank you!"
'Who would want something from an old man like you anyway?!'
He turned around after he said those words and as he was about to leave, Eclipse halted for a second and he thought of something.
'Even though this old man said that he would tell me about what he knows without a fair trade, but it left a bad taste on my mouth just thinking about that I'll be indebted to him because of this.'
Laxurus, on the other hand, noticed that his grandson hadn't left yet and was dazed for a moment, but he saw that he looked at his sideways and his cyan-colored eyes staring directly through his own eyes.
"Is there anything…."
Laxurus was cut off once again and before he could rebuke back, the words come out from his grandson almost stopped his breathing and his eyes widened in shock.
"The RAVENTELLE CLAN. Investigate them secretly. You might find something unpleasant."
Laxurus snapped from his daze when he noticed that his grandson started to leave, and he almost fell from where he seated because of what he said.
"W-wait a minute! W-what do you…."
Once more, he was cut off by Eclipse in a hurried response; "I don't want to be indebted to you so this is the least I could do for you, as your grandson."
After that, Eclipse left first, followed by Rheina who took a looked at the High Elder before she followed Eclipse and both silhouettes disappeared.
After a minute and a half had passed, when there was no one else inside the office, Laxurus took a deep breath as he composed himself and his expression darkened.
"Come out."
With a simple command, two black-clothed people appeared at Laxurus' side and they half-kneeled in respect to their master.
"You have summoned us, Master."
One of the black-clothed man said while waiting for their master to speak.
Laxurus sighed as he held his forehead and speaks; "You two have heard the conversation between me and my grandson, right?"
"Yes, Master! We have heard everything from start to finish!" The one who speaks is the other black-clothed man.
Laxurus nodded as stood up from where he seated and looked outside the window and had caught the silhouette of his grandson and the Lotus Killer, Lady Clandestine leaving the manor with the carriage that he prepared for their departure.
"It seems like I need to have a private chat with my son then."
