Chapter 49: Memory Reform
***********
"Are you sure we're just going to leave like this?"
Both of them are now in the carriage prepared for them and they have already left the secluded manor where the High Elder of Sympherux lives.
'He really made sure that no one would ever know about this place and only those who he allowed would be able to enter this place.'
Eclipse thought as he ignored the woman's question, and the said woman knows that she is being ignored and couldn't help but snorted as she crossed her arms around her chest and puffed.
"Hey, are you really going to ignore me or what?"
Eclipse divert his attention from the carriage window and looked at the woman seating on the opposite side with a deadpan expression.
"You have a lot of questions on your mind, right? Ask away however, don't get your hopes up that I will answer all your questions though."
After he said that, he looked away and closed his eyes without bothering to wait for the other person to response.
Rheina: "…."
'Then, why the f*cking hell you said that I could ask questions, but you won't answer them at the same time? And have the gall to take a nap after he said that?! ARGH!'
If the assassin where given a choice, she would love to smack the cheeky little b*stard that seem to have some screw loose on his head.
"Hmp!"
She looked sideways as she didn't want to face this cheeky little brat and just leaned on the carriage as she watched the outside from the carriage window.
As much as it frustrates her, the assassin wouldn't dare to do such a thing.
'Even though he is an illegitimate child of the Marquis, this cheeky brat is still a noble child and not only that, but he also had a backing from his maternal family in secret. Who knows what would happen if someone dared to messed up with this child?'
"A-ahmmm…. b-but…. That person earlier, is that really your grandfather from your mother's side?"
'Curse her mouth and her curiosity!'
Rheina bit her lips and shut her mouth after she said those words as she waits for the response coming from the young boy…. Hopefully.
Eclipse opened his eyes when he heard the question coming from the Lotus Killer and he frowns.
'She didn't recognize the previous Patriarch?'
Even though that old man conceals his face with a special mask, but the Lotus Killer should have recognized the previous Patriarch according to his previous memories.
« Host, there are some information that was missing within the system archive and when Silver tried to retrieve it but for some reason, there was something blocking to it. »
'Are you kidding me? Wait a second! Enough with that missing information from the system archive, Silver! There is something much more important than that! Can you reconnect us to Sir Red? I couldn't reconnect with him when I first got here because of the insufficient energy.
Since I acquired 2.3% of energy from the last task, would that be enough?'
« Answering Host, no. The energy you acquired is still insufficient and also the progression rate is slower. Silver tried to reconnect with the World-Hopping Department when Silver woke up from its slumber, but it went for a naught. »
'D*mn it! Just when could I reconnect with my superior?! This is frustrating!'
Eclipse sighed as he held his forehead to ease the incoming headache he feels and looked at the woman who questioned him about that grandfather of his.
"That old man is my grandfather but not from my mother's, but from my father's."
Rheina blinked twice while looking at Eclipse and tilted her head sideways.
"Come again? He's not from your mother's but…. F-from your father's?"
Eclipse nodded and noticed how Rheina's face turned pale like a sheet of pad paper.
'In…. 3…. 2…. 1…'
"WHAT?!"
'Argh! Not again! My f*cking ears!'
Eclipse immediately went to cover his ears because of the impact of the woman's outburst that made the carriage shaken because of her.
"Ah! Third Young Master and Lady Clandestine! Is everything okay?!"
The coachman asked them in concern because the carriage shaken a little bit because of a certain someone.
Eclipse coughed to compose himself as he spoke; "We're fine. Just continue."
Even though Eclipse wanted to act like Ezekiel from his previous life, he wasn't in a mood to act.
"I-if that person is your grandfather from your father's side, then, are you telling me that's the previous Patriarch of Chevalier household, Marquis Laxarus Agante Chevalier?! Really?!"
The world-hopper nodded once again and Rheina felt like her lifespan had drained because of the revelation.
"Not only that, after he passed his title and position to his son, the current Marquis, he became the High Elder of Sympherux, Jasper Exolus?!"
Eclipse looked at the woman with a serious expression; "Yes, yes and yes. Anything else?"
'Being dramatic again. Haist!'
He frowns as he remembers something; "Wait a second. I got the impression that you already know about him being the previous Patriarch that's why you're being cautious around him."
Rheina who just got out from her stupor because of the revelation, heard what the young boy said and looked at the said young boy as if the latter had grown two heads.
"No! I just got to know about this information! Who would have thought after he passed his title and position to his son, he would have joined Sympherux as the High Elder?!"
Eclipse sighed as he composed himself and directly looked at the woman's eyes and the latter became anxious because of how Eclipse looked at her.
"W-what?"
'Why do I feel nervous all of a sudden?'
Eclipse; "Apologies, Rheina but… this is for your own good."
The woman frowns at him; "W-wha—"
« ... "Emlékezetreform!" ..... »
Suddenly, Rheina felt dizzy, and eyes became blurred because of the enchantment Eclipse casted upon her.
'Just what….'
"Sorry, hope you understand."
Eclipse's cyan-colored eyes are now glowing to its magic power because of the enchantment and before Rheina could say anything….
Everything went blank.

LOCATION: TERUM VILLAGE, NORTHEAST OF STELLARUS EMPIRE
"Are you new within this area?"
An old woman in her 60's asked a young man in his 20's while the said young man buying some stuff in the old lady's store.
The young man scratches his head to hide his shyness; "A-ah! Y-yes! I-I just got here yesterday and had stayed on the inn two blocks away from here. I'm planning to stay here for the night and then venture at the Capital city tomorrow morning"
The old lady smiled at the young man's gullible personality.
"You look ordinary, young man but you have a handsome face. I have a granddaughter on your age. Do you want to her?"
The young man stuttered because of the old lady's bold suggestion and the young man didn't want to appear rude as he decline politely; "N-no need! S-sorry, granny! W-well, I don't have any interest on seeing someone. Your granddaughter might found someone who deserves her better."
The old lady had a disappointed look on her face as she sighed; "Well, if you insist then. If may I ask…. What's the reason for you to go at the Capital city? You know that city is the home of noble households, especially the Royal family of this empire. I am afraid that along your journey, you might encounter unexpected mishap."
The young man could only smile at the old lady just to ease her worries.
"Thank you for worrying a stranger like me. No one has ever done that to me. I've been an orphaned for as long as I could remember and only strive forward to survive."
The young man paused for a minute as he continued; "As for the reason for me to go at the Capital city, well…. There is someone out there that I need to protect."
The old lady seems like have an insight about the young man's nature of job.
"Oh my! So, you've been hired by one of the noble households to protect someone?"
The young man smiled; "Well, yeah. Something like that."
The old lady frowns as she speaks once more; "You have to be careful when going at the Capital city. Us, commoners are nothing to those snotty arrogant nobles. There are some decent noble households but there are some of the worst."
The young man could only agreed to the old lady as he nodded while packing some of the materials that he needs for his journey.
"It would be better if you manage to get hired at the Marquis Chevalier household, that household is known for being the household of war heroes. From what I heard, the current Marquis, Augustus Rynus Chevalier, known as the Iron-Blooded Swordmaster, appeared cold and indifferent on the outside but he is a person who values talented people, especially if those people had a potential."
The young man halted on what he was doing as he looked at the old lady after she said those words.
"R-really?! I-is that true?!"
The old lady looked at the young man's flustered expression and the old lady's heart warm on the inside but also sighed because of how gullible the young man was.
'Aiya! It would be much better for him just to stay here though.'
