Chapter 642 Bahubali: The Leagend of Amarendra (1/4)

10th October 1659

Akhand Bharatiya Empire

Vijay lay on the bed, still asleep, having stayed up late managing the affairs of the government. Kavya had already gotten up, undressed from her night garments, and dressed in a beautiful langa voni. She looked at herself in the mirror and clenched her fist in determination. She took one last look at Vijay, kissed him on the cheek, and left the room.

Vijay wasn't aware of any of it; he slept soundly.

This is a very special day for Kavya, as it is the day when her book *Bahubali: The Legend of Amarendra* is released to the market. She had already received positive feedback from Vijay and the people whom she had selected. She was now looking forward to the reaction of the people of the empire.

Currently, she is travelling in a carriage on her way to an event building, where she is holding a signing ceremony. It was actually Vijay's idea to sign the books and give them to lucky fans in order to not only publicize the second volume of the book but also increase Kavya's popularity.

Kavya was very interested in the idea, so she readily agreed.

As Kavya's entourage arrived with the escort of the Royal Guards, the crowd that had gathered in front of the event hall parted like the Red Sea split by Moses.

The police stationed to control the crowd immediately became alert, and they began to set up their crowd control barriers. The royal guards who had already been present in the event hall began to look around, checking for any threat to the Empress.

"Empress!!!"

"Empress!!!"

"Kavya Amma!!"

Kavya could hear the screams of the people even through the carriage walls. Her heart rate began to increase. It was not that she had never been in large crowds before, but she had never been in one composed entirely of her admirers and fans of her work. She felt a different kind of weight on her shoulders; it was as if she was obligated to produce good work for these loving fans of hers.

Kavya strengthened her determination and got down from the carriage with a smile on her face.

"Empress!!!"

"Ahh, she's here!"

"Empress, please look here!"

The scene exploded. Kavya could hear people calling her name with desperation, and before she could process everything, flowers were thrown at her. Everything was blinding.

"Your Majesty, please, let's go inside. It's too dangerous here," the captain of the Royal Guard advised.

Kavya looked at the crowd, who were threatening to break through the crowd control rope and nodded in understanding. If she were only an author, she would be very unhappy with the advice, which would leave a bad impression on the fans, but she was the Empress of the Bharatiya Empire. In the face of royal responsibility, responsibility as an author was nothing.

Kavya waved gracefully at the crowd and quickly went into the event hall, with a few royal guards protecting her and her secretary in a circle.

While moving forward, the captain of the Royal Guard saw the inspector at the door commanding the police forces. "Call for backup. Our current force is not enough, and remember to block off the street. Immediately stop the inward flow of people," he ordered.

The inspector was momentarily taken aback, but looking at the crowd, he quickly understood the trouble.

"Officer Kabir Saif, come here!"

"Quickly pass the request for reinforcements to the commissioner."

The inspector quickly took out a document from his pocket, wrote down something on it, and sealed it with his thumbprint and signature.

Kabir Saif, one of the first New Testament Muslims of the Bharatiya Empire in the police force, saluted his superior and left to get the job done.

---

Kavya was finally able to get seated in a room away from the crowd. Even within the event hall, there were nearly 300 people waiting for her. These people were the lucky few who had won the lottery to meet with her personally and get a signed copy of *Bahubali: The Legend of Amarendra.*n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

She drank the water that was on the table, rested for a few moments, gave herself time to breathe, and nodded at her secretary, who had accompanied her.

"Woahh."

"Yes!"

Kavya could vaguely hear cheering coming from the other side of the wall and smiled as she arranged her appearance one last time before she welcomed her first fan.

Soon, a tiny figure entered the room. It was a little girl barely 13 years old. She was dressed up like a doll, looking so lovable.

Kavya's heart immediately melted. "Awe!"

"Come here, darling," she said, losing all noble demeanour and turning into an aunt who spoils her niece.

Chitra was quite nervous when she entered the room, but looking at Her Majesty, who seemed so approachable, she smiled and went closer. "Your Majesty, I'm your bigwest fan. I weally wike your Chota Bheem novews." she said with a little lisp.

Kavya felt that the lisp made her even more endearing and cute. she coudent take it anymore she quickly hugged the doll named Chitra, feeling satisfied.

Chitra, on the other hand, felt like she couldn't breathe. "Your Majsesty, can I get your autowaph?" she asked, out of breath.

Kavya became embarrassed but soon returned to normal. She took out two books from two different cabinets beside her and signed her name on one of them. As for the other, she handed it over without any change.

Chitra quickly took the two books excitedly, thanking Kavya profusely.

Kavya smiled and wanted to talk to the little girl some more, but her secretary whispered,

"Your Majesty, time is running out. Should I send the second one?"

The smile on Kavya's face immediately faded, but she could understand. She wished to spend time with each and every fan, but by the time she signed 300 books, she would be there all day, which was not something she wanted. She reluctantly nodded.

"Goodbye, Chitra darling. Be safe,"

she said as she waved at Chitra.

Chitra smiled back, did a namaskara, and left the room. On her way out the uncle at the door dressed in a red uniform, handed her a certificate. She did not understand what it was, but since it was given to her, she did not refuse it. She took it and left, ready to meet with her mother waiting outside.

Kavya went on to sign 200 books in succession within an hour. At first, she interacted with everyone enthusiastically, as the whole signing event was novel and new to her. She was enjoying herself a lot, but soon her wrist began to ache, and her enthusiasm decreased.

Still, she made sure that she was polite and welcoming.

"Oh, wow," Kavya exclaimed in her heart.

The person who entered was actually a European boy around 16 years of age.

He bowed in respect according to Western etiquette, but he still did a namaskara after.

"Your Majesty, name I am Alex Ferricio. I loved very much your *Bahubali: The Rise of Shiva* book."

"It be my honor for get signed copy second volume."

He said in broken Bharati,

The surprise on Kavya's face lasted only for a little while. She hadn't encountered a foreigner as a fan, but they weren't a rare species either. She knew that her book *Bahubali: The Rise of Shiva* sold very well in Europe. It's just that numbers alone couldn't tell the whole story. So despite selling a lot of copies in Europe, Kavya had not considered herself a well-known author in both the Western and Eastern hemispheres. But looking at Alex now, she began to understand the level of success she had achieved.

"It is my pleasure," Kavya said as she handed over the signed book as well as the regular book.

Alex Ferricio was overjoyed as he took the book. He was from a merchant family, which explained why he would be in the Bharatiya Empire. So, he knew the book currently in his hand was not only extremely precious to him on an emotional level but also extremely valuable on a monetary level.

He knew that in the future, these books could be sold for thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of Varaha. Although he wouldn't want to sell it, he was still very excited.

He was asked to leave by the secretary. He became worried, as there was one thing more he wanted to do, so he quickly took out the book he had brought with him and handed it over to Kavya.

"Your Majesty, if not too much, could you please sign this book for me?"

Kavya absentmindedly took the book.

*Bahubali: L'ascensione di Shiva*

It was her novel, the first volume, but she could not identify the language. She could tell it was her novel because of the first page, which had her famous heavenly waterfall, but she could not identify any words in it.

She looked at Alex. "Which language is this?" she asked, curious.

Stay updated via empire

Alex immediately responded, "It's Italian, Your Majesty. I fall in love with your world after I read that book in Venice. It is for this reason I wanted to master Bharati language because I want to read novel as it was intended."

Kavya felt amused by the broken Bharati, but she still admired this fan of hers who went to the trouble of learning a whole language in order to read her book.

"Here you go, Alex. Have a safe journey," Kavya said as she returned the book.

She then looked at her secretary. "Handle the matters of authentication," she ordered.

The secretary readily agreed, accompanying Alex on his way out and having the signature authenticated manually in written text
