Chapter 644 Bahubali: The Leagend of Amarendra (3/4)
"Pity!" Edward muttered, feeling a little disappointed due to the absence of an illustration.
However, since it was the story that mainly attracted them to the book, no one decided to drop the book. Instead, they continued to read.
The story of Shiva continued as he fought various monsters on top of the waterfall. Then Shiva met a beautiful girl who was being chased by a few soldiers.
Shiva wanted to find out more about the girl, but he still remembered his mission of wanting to save his mother and father. So he quickly put away the distracting thoughts and went looking for the treasure once again.
However, through various circumstances, Shiva came across the girl, maybe out of coincidence or fate, again and again. So, out of helplessness, he saved the girl from the soldiers who kept chasing her for whatever reason.
Fighting the soldiers wasn't too hard. He knew that he had some power within him which made him stronger than everyone else, so taking care of a few people was easy. Just when he was about to deal with the last soldier, surprisingly, when the soldier saw his face, he dropped down to his knees and looked at him with dread and panic on his face.
"Bahubali!" he screamed hysterically and ran away.
Reading until this part, Raja Jaydev Singha's eyes lit up with excitement. He was immediately hooked; the novel had become very interesting. He put his foot down from his chair and proceeded to read intently.
Shiva was confused as to what could have happened, but he wasn't the type of person to think too deeply into matters, so he quickly forgot about it and went about his way searching for the secret treasure. However, as fate would have it, the girl he had just saved was also searching for the same thing. At first, Shivudu was vigilant, worried that she would covit the medicinal herbs within the treasure, but he was relieved to find out that she just wanted the advanced weaponry and nothing else.
The journey continued, and Shivudu eventually fell in love with Avantika, the girl he was traveling with, for her beauty, courage, and grace, and Avantika experienced the same after witnessing the might, majesty, and inhuman strength of Shivudu.
"Giggle," reading up to this part, Priyanka Deshmukh couldn't help but chuckle happily.
Finally, Shivudu and Avantika reached the site of the treasure, but unfortunately, Avantika discovered that, along with the key to open the locker, the direct bloodline of a royal was required, as the mechanism would only activate from the power present in the bloodline of a royal.
Shivudu was shocked. He grew desperate. Did he come here for nothing? he thought, devastated. However, thankfully, Avantika remembered something. Read new chapters at empire
"Devasena might be able to open it. She has the royal blood of the Kuntala Kingdom and is also the rightful queen of Mahishmati," she said with a scheming glint in her eyes, having just remembered Shivudu tearing apart the claws of a tiger with his bare hands.
"What's more, she is also the reason why we are leading the resistance against King Bhallaladeva," she said. Even though she had some personal interest in mentioning these things, in the end, she did not lie, as Devasena's blood could indeed open the locker. More importantly, Devasena was their only option since she needed them more than they needed her.
Back in his fortress Ardeshir Atashban stroked his beard, falling into thought. "I wonder where the story goes."
Shivudu did not understand too much about what his woman was saying, but he understood one thing: 'Bhallaladeva bad and cruel, Devasena good and tortured and has the way to open the treasure vault.' AIM 'Bring her', That was all the information he needed, and he quickly set off to Mahishmati.
"Ha! He doesn't know he also has the royal bloodline in him. How stupid," Priyanka Deshmukh laughed, but she didn't dislike Shivudu as she found the straightforwardness and dull character of Shivudu really charming.
Shivudu soon entered the Mahishmati Kingdom after taking advantage of lessened defences due to the statue inauguration ceremony of Bhallaladeva.
Shiva saw so many evil things happening in the ceremony. The citizens of the empire were literally treated like cattle, whipped and punished to do the rulers' greedy bidding. Even though he saw many artists participating in the event, he couldn't see a colour of life in them. Despite being in a ceremony, he felt like he was in a burial ground. He was unhappy, but he didn't want to meddle in affairs he had no control over.
However, fate had its own way of doing things. An old man pulling the rope—one of many that propped up the statue—slipped due to a cramp in his leg from overwork and fell down. The people behind him, holding the rope as if on their last straw, couldn't hold it any longer and let go.
The pulleys used to hold up the 100-meter golden statue couldn't bear the weight anymore and began to weaken.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Haha, it's a 100-meter golden statue. Wouldn't it even want a few heads as a sacrifice?" Bhallaladeva's father, a cripple, laughed. Even Bhallaladeva didn't think it was a big deal if the statue crushed a few people under it, He smirked as he was looking at the scene with interest.
Back in Lalistan, Ezdi Servan gritted his teeth in annoyance. "Fucking bastard," he cursed. Bhallaladeva reminded him of Zangana, although Salman Zangana was dead—he was killed by his own hands. The hatred accumulated over a lifetime was not so easy to forget; it only took a whiff of wind to fire up the embers cooling down.
The story continued as suddenly, the falling of the statue stopped. Shivudu, who didn't want to get involved with the affairs of the kingdom, couldn't take it anymore and held onto the slipping rope. Suddenly, as if a battleship was firmly anchored to port, the statue couldn't move an inch.
Shivudu's arms were bulging, a few drops of blood dripped from his nose, but his eyes were beaming golden radiance.
"Boom!"
Shivudu moved one step at a time. The morale of the people who had fallen down increased, and they got up one by one.
Finally, the statue was stabilized, and the old man who had slipped first took the rope with gratitude on his face. But when he saw Shivudu's face, he exclaimed:
"Bahubali!"
Shiva was once again confused as to why he was called by this name. But once again, he had important matters to attend to, so he quickly left the area. However, in a moment, the word "Bahubali" spread throughout the crowd.
The people who were too scared to even look the authority in the eye suddenly raised their heads high and screamed at the top of their lungs, roaring in defiance.
The artists, who had appeared listless and lifeless, suddenly performed with a vigour never seen before. Even the Bharatanatyam dancers, who were supposed to dance in a peaceful and soulful rhythm, transformed into goddesses exuding deterrence.
Bhallaladeva, who had heard the name once again after 20 years, suddenly looked up at his own statue and was humiliated to discover that, in his mind, the statue of his brother Bahubali stood 1,000 meters tall over his head, looking at him as if he were some sort of a peasant.
'Pffff!'
Tamblot, reading up to this part, laughed out loud. "HAHAHA! What a sad excuse of a king. This guy reminds me of the governor, haha!"
Shivudu camouflaged himself as a soldier of Mahishmati and was finally able to find out where Devasena was imprisoned. He quickly went to her, but when he saw her face, his heart felt immense pain, and tears involuntarily fell from his eyes. It was as if someone repeatedly stabbed him in the heart.
Shivudu didn't understand what he was feeling—he was choked up—but he knew he didn't have much time, as the meeting could end at any moment.
He quickly broke the chains holding Devasena, took her to a carriage he found nearby, and rode toward the exit.
The guards, who had been called to a meeting by the king to inquire where the first shout of "Bahubali" came from, were alerted.
The guards tried their best to catch Shivudu, but he was simply too fast, and the best chance to stop him had long passed.
Bhallaladeva looked at the receding back of Shivudu and felt his heart thump like a drum. He didn't want to take any chances, so he sent his best warrior, Katappa, along with his son, to hunt down the intruder and bring back Devasena.
Shivudu quickly took the woman to the secret vault, but sadly, he was on a carriage while his enemies pursued him on horseback. He stood no chance. It was raining, and his whole body became muddy.
People came at him in droves, and he cut them down one by one, but he was only fighting by instinct and lacked formal sword training. Bhadra, the prince of the Mahishmati Kingdom, took advantage of Shivudu's absent-mindedness and struck him hard on the head.
'Tsk', Sarvesh clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Shivudu was momentarily stunned and fell to the ground. If a normal man had hit him, it would not have caused so much damage, but Bhadra, despite his lascivious nature, still had a royal bloodline, and his strength was higher than that of normal people.
Bhadra was overjoyed and went to humiliate Devasena. Kattappa arrived at that very moment. He was relieved that the perpetrator was caught, but he was very angry when Devasena was about to be humiliated.
