Chapter 233: Guild Representatives
Aside from the earning Xu Feng achieved, what mattered more was the fact that most players from the region knew about his blatant provocation toward the Reaver Guild.
To top things off, Hundred Ghost had officially become the number one laughing stock among the other rival guilds.
Anyone would be fuming hard if they got provoked by someone they believed to be nothing more than an ant.
However, Xu Feng must still praise Hundred Ghost's quick thinking in somewhat overturning the situation.
Since he actively and blatantly provoked them, Hundred Ghost made use of this point that he could potentially be hiding some big secret that gave him such courage.
With that being said, those rival guilds and neutral ones would be interested.
And when these bloodthirsty guilds become interested in something, they would do a lot of things to obtain it.
"Not a bad plan," Xu Feng smiled, given that he might do the same as well to cause trouble.
Unfortunately, it was just a futile trick in the end. Other than verbal threats, these guilds can't do anything to it.
Right at this moment, Xu Feng suddenly received a message from Carmen.
Lunar Wraith: Are you alright, Feng? I've browsed through the forum, and Hundred Ghost is now targeting you. He's even spreading rumors that you have a big secret. I'm sorry for causing you trouble…
Smiling, Xu Feng wondered if this was still the same demoness he knew.
Apologizing?
There was no such thing as an apology in her dictionary.
Brushing the matter aside, Xu Feng instead instructed her to head to the Teleportation Hall once she was done with her current mission.
Shortly after Xu Feng began walking to the library, searching for the history and lore of Star Falls City. To revitalize the city, he needed to educate himself and find the clues to increase the city population.
Although he knew what happened later on in the future, he didn't know the process. Hence, to increase the chance of him recalling some crucial parts, he might as well use this time to study more about the surroundings and terrain.
Taking around 10 minutes or so, Xu Feng arrived at the library. Unlike most guarded libraries, this one seemed to be abandoned, with zero people working.
Hell, even the shelves are dusty and books in tattered shape.
'Let's see… the geography section is by the east.' Xu Feng narrowed his eyes to partially read the word on the signboard.
While Xu Feng immersed himself in the library, back in Riverwood Town, the tension had escalated beyond control.
"Guild Leader Gentle Wind, I suggest you stop covering for Lin Feng and tell us what you know."
"Yeah, it's not good if you hog all the secrets to yourself."
"Agreed. One should be magnanimous and share the wealth with others. Don't be greedy."
Within the 2nd floor of a tavern, numerous guild representatives started demanding Gentle Wind to reveal all sorts of information regarding Lin Feng.
After all, these guild representatives had done some research of Lin Feng ever since the anonymous post went viral.
And when they realized Lin Feng's name appeared on Hell Mode's first clear as guild member of Silver Wind, they all flocked over to Riverwood Town, which was their current base.
Seated opposite of these guild representatives, Gentle Wind kept a calm composure, almost as if she couldn't hear their yapping.
"Have you all said enough?" She suddenly asked, her gaze rather cold.
"My guild might not be powerful, but do you all take me, a guild leader, as someone you can easily trample over? You came all over here and demanded me as if you're the boss of me. Do you think I'll just say yes and share everything with you?"
The more she said, the fiercer her aura was.
Additionally, the subordinates behind her, especially Steelshot, were already eyeing these representatives with bloodlust.
Stunned by the reaction of Gentle Wind, the various guild representatives glanced at each other, clearly not expecting her to outright reject them.
It wasn't as if they were trying to do anything against her guild, but rather, they just wanted information regarding Lin Feng.
Not to mention, they already found out Lin Feng was no longer a member of her guild, proving that he was just a temporary helper she found.
Was there really a need for her to jeopardize the relationship of all the guilds here to protect a one-time helper?
Alas, these guild representatives would never know that recently Xu Feng had just lent her a batch of equipment at a cost.
Of course, she managed to get him to sell her some of the weapons in the end when she realized the severity of the matter.
'If these representatives come to know Lin Feng has so much rare equipment, they will definitely migrate here.' Gentle Wind thought, refusing to let anyone hinder her development.
She had taken much effort to widen the gap between her and the Tyrant Fist guild. There was no way she would ruin herself by allowing more guilds to migrate over here to compete with her.
However, there was one more thing that Gentle Wind was wary about. The so-called mysterious boss of Lin Feng.
For him to let his subordinate take the first achievement of going to a city, she was positive that there were more hidden secrets that she had yet to know.
Sighing softly, Gentle Wind proceeded to stand up from her chair and gave a final glance at the representatives. "You can return and tell your guild leaders that they can just give up trying to get information from me. If they want to know, then investigate themselves. I've entertained you long enough."
After giving her final piece, she turned around and left, leaving the rest fuming at her attitude.
"Hmph, how bold of the Gentle Wind."
"She really thinks she's something else just because of some minor achievement."
The representatives were clearly displeased at the treatment they received, and started disrespecting Gentle Wind outright.
"Heh, disrespecting my guild leader." Steelshot, who had been quiet for a long time, chuckled softly. "Leave none of them alive and let their guild know we're not easy to mess with either."
