Chapter 234: Brazen
"You dare?!"
"Aren't you afraid of our guild's revenge?"
The moment Steelshot announced the order to kill them, the bunch of representatives were livid and confused.
At the end of the day, representatives were equivalent to a messenger, and killing the messenger was equivalent to wanting war. Hence, they were rather bold and brazen enough to disrespect Gentle Wind publicly.
Alas, no matter their argument and defense, Steelshot and his fellow comrades easily slaughtered these representatives.
After all, they were geared up with the equipment that their guild leader had managed to obtain from somewhere.
Once the killing was done, Steelshot glared at the other parties who were frightened deeply.
"If you want to discuss, then our guild is happy to discuss. But if you think that means you're allowed to disrespect us in our territory, then this is the outcome." Steelshot snorted, giving one final glare at them before leaving in style.
It was only after a few minutes that they confirmed the members of the Silver Wind guild were gone, did the rest start to breathe easy.
"This is unbelievable."
"Just how powerful is the Silver Wind guild?"
"In just a few minutes, they easily slaughtered the representatives from Hell Night, Anguish Light, Forsaken, and World Embers. They were all level 11."
Shortly after, news of Gentle Wind's subordinates slaughtering the representative of first-rate guilds spread all across.
However, what attracted the most attention was not the courage to kill the representatives, but how fast it was done.
Videos showing Steelshot and other members killing the representatives were posted by the spectators at the tavern.
Meanwhile, the culprits of such an incident were rather laid back as they chatted merrily.
"Guild leader is really amazing. She managed to get this equipment for us, boosting our overall attributes." Steelshot laughed heartily, treasuring his guns as if they were his most dearest.
"Indeed, this will serve as a warning to those first-rate guilds that times have changed. They'll be dreaming if they think they can walk over our heads and get away with it." A Berserker interjected, clearly proud of his action.
"But don't you all find it weird?" One female suddenly asked. "Guild leader is never the type to risk much, but for Lin Feng, she was extremely protective of him."
"What do you want to say, SilentWhisper?" Unamused, Steelshot turned to her. "Are you saying our guild leader is interested in Lin Feng?"
SilentWhisper was someone who should hold the most grudge against Lin Feng. After all, she was sacrificed by him without any warning during the raid of the Scorched Caverns.
"That's not what I meant," SilentWhisper responded calmly. "What I mean is, the equipment that the guild leader gave to us. Aren't you curious about their origin? The guild leader has been busy with the recruitment process and other than the Scorched Caverns raid, we haven't done other dungeons."
At this moment, it wasn't just Steelshot being silent, but the others were also silent as well, clearly having realized something.
"Are you saying that the equipment was purchased from Lin Feng?" Steelshot questioned in disbelief, his tone barely audible.
Despite asking that question, everyone here seemed to have come to the same conclusion. Otherwise, there was just no way their guild leader would allow them to kill the representatives no matter how displeased she was.
"Haah, I'm really thankful that I stopped provoking that demon," Steelshot said, wiping off some sweat on his forehead.
If others were to see the current Steelshot, they might have mistaken him to be another person. He was so mighty previously, but now he was so cowardly.
However, no one at present blamed Steelshot for his reaction. Xu Feng's display and command in the Scorched Caverns were still very vivid in their memory. Find more chapters on mvl
"Anyway, let's return and not discuss this further. The less we know, the better we can survive." SilentWhisper said, unwilling to dabble any further on the topic.
Steelshot and the rest nodded their heads in agreement.
As peace seemed to return to Riverwood Town, everyone knew it was merely the calm before the storm.
The real battle between guilds would commence once they entered the city and started fighting for resources.
However, despite all these undercurrents, Xu Feng remained oblivious, or more precisely, he didn't care.
He was no longer on the same playing grounds as those guilds that were using verbal threats.
"Phew, if schools would just use game lore to teach, then there'll be a lot of scholars." Xu Feng stretched his arms and yawned, having finished reading all the necessary information.
Since he already had a concept of the terrain, he only needed some brief information to connect the dots. Thus, he completed very quickly as opposed to those who would need to learn from scratch.
As Xu Feng returned the books to their original position, he received a call.
"Huh? Is it time already?" He muttered. The call was not from the Divine World but from the real world.
Finding a safe spot before logging out, Xu Feng soon hopped out of the gaming capsule and accepted the call through his smartwatch.
Connected, Zhao Xin's face appeared on a holographic screen. The moment she saw Xu Feng's attire, she was displeased.
"Why haven't you dressed up yet?" She asked irritatingly, clearly annoyed.
"Isn't it still quite early?" Xu Feng responded, checking the time and that there was still a lot of time left before the birthday party would start.
"Early?" Zhao Xin scoffed and glared fiercely at him. "Those who arrive now are people that grandfather values. As for the later guests, they aren't that important."
Once she was done explaining, she flared up even further when she sensed he was somewhat reluctant to hurry up.
Xu Feng's expression remained the same, but having dealt with so many different people daily, she could somewhat sense their inner thoughts, albeit not always correct.
"I don't care whether you're willing or not, but you have already agreed. I will only give you 45 minutes to arrive here with Kai. That's an order."
