Chapter 400 Spell
Night!
Arthur went alone to the church through the sidewalk while enjoying the evening breeze.
He just walked, joining the people coming home from work, occasionally listening to their complaints about the world.
When he arrived at the area where the church was located, he was a little surprised that it became more crowded with many merchants around.
The lights were brighter, and protesters from outside were coming.
When looking at some of the merchants, Arthur found his mercenaries among them.
He wasn't quite sure what was going on, but he wasn't bothered or worried as Vera was now almost under their control. After all, even the military was led by Andi.
"Oh, boss!" Rose happened to be coming out of the church as Arthur approached, so they met right away.
Tonight, Rose had her red hair in a ponytail, was wearing a tight t-shirt, and long jeans.
She looked sexy and striking.
The woman quickly walked up to Arthur, looking at him from head to toe.
"Looks like you had quite a bit of fun today, boss," she said with a faint smile.
Arthur glanced at her eyes, but didn't say anything about it.
Maybe Rose also had certain thoughts, and that didn't mean she was unattractive in Arthur's eyes.
It was just that there was no chance of such a thing happening yet.
Arthur continued to walk into the church until he went inside where he finally saw the advanced computers he had bought at the exhibition.
However, those things did not interest him for long. He was more interested in the cross pole where an old man was hanging on it.
The old man appeared to be asleep, his skin was deathly pale, and he looked so weak that a chicken could apparently kill him.
Although it was not that easy to make him die, he was indeed not far from death.
If an ordinary person entered this church, they would probably scream in terror.
That this church was full of computers was definitely strange, but there was even an old man hanging from a cross.
Fortunately Rose was a woman who was used to corpses so she wasn't that bothered by the old man still being alive.
She also wasn't worried about him even if he recovered because in terms of strength they weren't that different.
In recent times, even Rose had improved a lot.
Currently, Hunter's whereabouts were not even known because he was away practicing, saying that he would become a Senior Knight when he returned later.
"Is he going to say something in a few days?" Arthur asked Rose.
"Yes, he occasionally begs for food," Rose replied.
"I see!" Arthur then pointed his hand at the old man, Jaxon, sending a drop of life energy into his body.
For Jaxon who now felt worse than being stranded in a vast desert, that drop of energy instantly made him feel like drinking the most delicious wine. His eyes opened, and his breathing became rapid.
When he saw Arthur, he immediately shouted, "please, stop this, I surrender, and I will do whatever you want!"
His tone of voice sounded like he wanted to cry, but perhaps because he lived in glory for a long time, he did not give the impression of being pitied, similar to Owen's case.
Of course, Arthur wanted something from her, so he sent more life energy into her body.
Slowly, he began to look healthy, even his old skin became ruddy.
Phew!
After a while, he was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief, looking comfortable despite his body being hung on the cross.
However, Arthur also lowered his body until he landed right in front of her.
"I just want your spell, give it to me, and tell me where you got it," Arthur said, picking up the pulp and paper lying on the table before placing it in the old man's hand.
The latter swallowed, and perhaps because he was already too scared, he immediately started writing.
While writing, he said, "as for its origin, I don't know either, it's a family heirloom!"
"Family heirloom huh!" Arthur held his chin but didn't think much of it.
The reason he was interested in the Spell was because he knew its level and who the original owner was, not just because it was a curse spell.
He knew because he had gotten information about the Reincarnation World or earth in ancient times.
The spell was actually a Divine Spell, equivalent to his current spell although perhaps in terms of quality his spell was far superior.
Of course, Jaxon did not know that, and he could not use the spell to its full potential.
However, from the information Arthur knew, with that spell an Apprentice Magus could kill an ordinary human just by saying his name and an Official Magus could kill an Apprentice Magus.
It was called the Otherworldly Spell.
The problem might just be the difficulty of mastering that ability, even Arthur didn't have the confidence yet. It might also take him a long time. However, he thought it would solve a lot of his problems if he mastered it.
After about 3 minutes, Jaxon finished writing. He then handed the paper back to Arthur.
The latter picked it up with a quick movement, and read it right away.
As soon as he read the spell, his eyes narrowed sharply.
One minute later, he created a flame to burn the paper.
'Looks like even this spell matches my spell,' he thought.
He was a bit worried that there was a mismatch since both were Divine Spells.
However, it turned out that his spell could still be the foundation for the Otherworldly Spell.
This meant that he didn't need to try to start from scratch for the spell, just understand it.
Of course, it was just as he had anticipated, he would definitely need time to master it the right way.
After that, he looked at Rose.
"Show me the contents of those Flashdiscs," he said.
"Have a seat over there, boss!" Rose pointed to one of the chairs in front of the computer.
Arthur took a step towards it, but after only one step, Jaxon suddenly asked, "young master, what should I do?"
He apparently called Arthur young master, probably too confused as to what to call him.
Arthur looked at him and waved his hand.
"You can wander around, but don't think about running away," he said.
Whoosh!
He sent his Spiritual Bird into his body and paid no more attention to her.
Arriving at the computer, he immediately sat down while Rose started running the computer.
"I haven't checked it carefully, but there are a lot of names written down, now I've moved them to a folder," Rose said.
She opened the folder where there were many other folders with people's names in each folder.
The number was actually quite astounding to Arthur. It proved that the man knew too many secrets.
Maybe he relied on his power just to collect that.
He even saw the name of Logan, one of the Vice-Chairmen of Congress whose wife was from the Armstrong Family, and he had come to offer Isabel money.
For the old man, Arthur wasn't that interested as he already knew quite a lot about him.
He ordered Rose to open another folder.
Inside the folder, there were many videos and photos.
"Maybe these things are not that interesting to you, boss," Rose said as she opened one of the videos.
What Rose said is true because the core of the video is basically evidence of corruption committed by someone.
In the video, for example, a judge accepts money from a rich man to commute his son's sentence.
In Europe, corruption is indeed lower than other countries such as developing countries, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Some people may do it once out of necessity, but not again after that.
Arthur watched a few videos before getting bored.
After that, he collected the names of the officials who were hostile to his aunt. It turned out that there were quite a few of them.
He ordered Rose to collect them, and send all the data to his email.
This would be something that could prevent more trouble for her aunt's inauguration later.
"By the way, where's Alice?" asked Arthur as he didn't sense her presence here.
"She just left, always has, and very rarely comes back," Rose replied.
Arthur frowned, but in the end didn't think much of it.
Things were going better and better for him, so it didn't matter if Alice wandered further as long as she didn't meet anyone who recognized her, especially people from the military and those involved with Evolver research.
Since waiting for Alice might be too long, Arthur finally chose to return now.
He still had something he wanted to do, which was to make potions from the ingredients he got from Bruce.
That might take a lot of time because of the many potions he would make.
When leaving the church, he chose to fly, so it only took a few minutes for him to arrive home.
