Chapter 116 Invincible?
The entire arena trembled as the several-ton heavy monster charged out of the large iron cage.
Its bronze metallic hide glistened brightly in the light of the afternoon sun, dazzling most of the wildly cheering spectators. The Heavy Armored Bull's muscles bulged beneath its hide as it charged toward the puny human that dared to infiltrate its territory.
Despite its massive frame of close to 1.5 meters shoulder-height and heavy weight, the bull was eerily quick and agile, could run at high speed, and maneuvered itself quite easily while taking sharp turns.
Its long, muscular legs provided the necessary foundation for its power and speed, and Zayn had intended to attack them and cut the Heavy Armored Bull's vital points of its legs to render it incapable of moving!
He evaded the rapid charge of the monster at the last moment while mantling the razor-sharp edges of his Dragontale Twin Sabers with the Soulblade.
Zayn even used some soul particles to faintly activate the Saber Artifacts' effect to make sure that he could inflict some considerable damage. However, the moment he sliced at the Heavy Armored Bull's leg with both Dragontale Twin Sabers, he noticed that he had made a big blunder.
As the blades impacted at once, intending to cut through the vital points of the monster, a loud 'whack' rang out. His blade was blocked and had only inflicted small scratches on the monster that didn't even start bleeding.
The Heavy Armored Bull bellowed when Zayn evaded the attack. It turned around without slowing down and charged at Zayn once again.
This time, the monster's speed was even faster than before. Zayn had been too baffled by the insignificant damage his attack had caused. He knew that the Heavy Armored Bull was strong, but he was wielding two Saber Artifacts, mantled with the Soulblade. The amount of soul particles he had used to activate the Saber Artifacts' effect and to materialize the Soulblade hadn't been too much, but other monsters with two Soulrings wouldn't have been able to block his attack that easily.
His physical strength was not exactly low either. At least, that was what Zayn had been thinking until now.
He was a little late at evading the Bull's charge properly. It's long, curved horns pointing ahead gleamed lightly, ready to impale and kill Zayn.
However, Zayn instinctively jumped to the side. It was pointless for him to use the Double Saber Kalivan technique in this battle. That was something his first attack showed clearly.
He had to change his approach toward the battle, otherwise, he might not only lose his bet but also his life!
A unique characteristic of the Heavy Armored Bull was that its hide was extremely thick and heavy, yet also flexible. It didn't have any small gaps between its joints to target.
That didn't leave him many places to attack because the Heavy Armored Bull was faster than him as well.
Zayn experienced this as the Bull threw its head to the right when he jumped to the left. The razor-sharp tip of the bull's horn tore through his clothes, cutting into his skin and back.
Because he had been in mid-air, jumping away, Zayn was able to avoid a severe injury. Despite that, a long, badly bleeding gash spread out from the top of his shoulder down to his hips.
He had escaped death narrowly.
His heart was palpitating and adrenaline began to surge through his entire body in tides, violent and continuous, wave after wave.
'This is definitely not going according to the plan.'
Zayn didn't feel the pain in his back but he knew that he was injured. It didn't restrict his movements and was not a problem right now, but that would quickly change.
He evaded two more of the Heavy Armored Bull's charges. The second time he evaded the attack, he was able to counterattack once again. His attack landed on the exact same area as his first attack, deepening the scratches he had first inflicted. One or two droplets of blood oozed of the scratches, but that was already it.
If Zayn had enough time, he could repeat the same attack over and over until the wound would deepen and turned into a lethal injury. However, that was not what he attempted to do after evading the Bull's charge for the third time.
It was a desperate attempt but he tried to pierce the Dragontale Twin Sabers into the Heavy Armored Bull's butthole. This was the least protected area of the monster, which was also why Zayn targeted it.
However, the Heavy Armored Bull was much faster than Zayn, and he lost momentum by changing his posture and movement direction when he initiated a counterattack after evading its attack. His Dragontale Twin Sabers ended up missing the Bull's butt by close to thirty centimeters.
That was way off the mark, and certainly did not give Zayn a chance to be able to finish off the Heavy Armored Bull in the next thirty seconds. He could improve on dodging and ducking the beast's attacks and retain some of his momentum to reach the Bull's butt, but it wouldn't be dead even if he cut into its butthole.
The monster would only be injured, maybe even severely.
'Did I overestimate my capabilities? Was it too much to bet for a victory within sixty seconds?'
The first doubts began to flash through his mind. Zayn tried to dispel them, but that was easier said than done.
At this moment, the thunderous bellowing of the Heavy Armored Bull reached Zayn. The Bull had stopped charging at him. It had slowed down and stared deep into his eyes with its almost pitch-black eyes. It panted heavily, its paw thrashed on the ground and it issued a loud roar before it charged back at Zayn, whose expression changed a little.
"I am such an idiot," He mumbled to himself, the corners of his lips curling up as realization struck him.
The perfect area to attack had always been in his sight. There was no need for him to bother about the vital points of the Heavy Armored Bull or its butthole.
There was a much easier way for him to attack, with a sure-way to instantly kill the Heavy Armored Bull.
Of course, it was also suicidal, meaning that either the Heavy Armored Bull died before he was impaled or squashed to death.
But the result would be worth it...and if Zayn was to be honest with himself, he was a little excited thinking about enacting the plan that had formed in his mind.
