Chapter 117 Suicidal
With a little less than thirty seconds left before he would lose his bet, Zayn chose to be a little aggressive and suicidal.
He didn't like the thought of intentionally putting himself in more danger than necessary, but he had two good reasons to take the big risk of dying right now.
First of all, he had promised Merlin to kill the Chimera. If he wanted to face the crippled Chimera, Zayn had to provoke Manager Tilan a little more. Taking a little risk for something like that was certainly worth it.
After all, he was the type of person who did everyone in his might to keep his promises. Zayn would never promise anything just for the sake of it, and he had a debt to repay to Merlin, either way. It was only fair to be put into some danger to make sure that he could repay his debt and fulfill his promise!
The second reason for Zayn to take a bigger risk while fighting the Heavy Armored Bull was even simpler; he didn't want to lose his hard-earned money!
With the bet he placed, Zayn could earn more than 5,000 gold coins. That was a huge sum, which would be more than enough to buy a few Artifacts. It would be possible to equip his Spirits with Artifacts as well.
That way, he could increase his combat prowess drastically once again. Even Monsters with two Soulrings would have to surrender as long as he and his Spirits were fully armed with Artifacts.
Zayn didn't want to lose the opportunity to increase his strength through external means. It was very important for him to become stronger, and investing a vast fortune of gold coins was one way to do so!
His greed for money was more than enough reason to take on the Heavy Armored Bull's charge head-on.
Hencet, Zayn didn't think of evading the Heavy Armored Bull's charge anymore. He would face it head-on!
Though the way he braced himself for the face-off it was different than one might think, it was a fact that Zayn chose to stop evading the monster.
The Heavy Armored Bull charged at him after it pawed the sandy arena for a second or two. It was much faster than before and reached him a short moment later.
Zayn's eyes glimmered brightly, and soul particles surged through his entire body and entered the Dragontale Twin Sabers that moved through the air with slow but smooth movements. A thick golden membrane mantled the Dragontale Twin Sabers as a little less than half of Zayn's remaining soul particles were used to create the Soulblade around both Saber Artifacts.
The temperature around Zayn dropped as well as the blades' turned sharper and much colder. But that had little effect on Zayn who was sweating profusely as he used the remaining unused soul particles within him to trigger the power of the Dragontale Twin Sabers.
Mantled by the golden membrane, the change of the Dragontale Twin Sabers couldn't be seen from the outside. All the spectators could make out was that Zayn had stopped evading and that the challenger was ready to face the Heavy Armored Bull's charge head-on.
However, that was just like an ordinary human trying to stop a bullet train. It was not something that ought to be possible.
Zayn didn't care what was supposed to be possible, or what others deemed as impossible. He was the one who determined what he was capable of, not others!
His pupils contracted when the Heavy Armored Bull was in his range. The monster was less than five meters away from him and it would take only a moment before it would bulldoze, or impale him.
The bull had already lowered its head and was minutes away from impaling him with its horns. However, Zayn was still eerily calm, deciding his own move. Contrary to his expectations, he was not nervous at all. He had stopped sweating as well.
His entire being was focused on the next few movements of his body. Zayn moved instinctively, his body following exactly the movements his mind had vividly imprinted.
The Dragontale Twin Sabers cut through the air, they spun around in Zayn's hand as he jumped into the air.
He jumped more than two meters in the air, raising his right knee with shocking speed piercing straight ahead with the Dragontale Twin Sabers.
Zayn's kneecap impacted before his Sabers. He hit the Heavy Armored Bull's nose, which resulted in a loud snap of a bone fracturing to echo through the surroundings. However, it was not the Bull's nose that broke. On the contrary, it was Zayn's kneecap that was fractured.
A hot wave of pain spread through his leg but Zayn took barely note of that as his Dragontale Twin Sabers pierced exactly through the trajectory in which the Heavy Armored Bull moved its head.
Zayn had read a lot about Heavy Armored Bulls and he knew that they hated it if someone or something touched their nose. The impact of his leg was enough to enrage the Heavy Armored Bull even more than before. His attack on the Bull's nose was also the reason why it lifted its head, even if it was just a little.
However, that little movement was everything Zayn's Dragontale Twin Sabers required to pierce through the monster's eyes. The Heavy Armored Bull couldn't even close its eyelids before its eyes were pierced cleanly.
Blood gushed out of the monster's eyes as the blades cut deeper and deeper into the head of the Heavy Armored Bull that thrashed and roared in pain.
Gasps rang through the surrounding area, followed by a deadly silence. No spectator dared to issue a single word, some didn't even dare to breathe.
They held their breath as they watched the scene that unfolded in the arena with disbelieving looks.
The Dragontale Twin Sabers' blades pierced the Heavy Armored Bull's skull, delivering a killing blow.
However, at the same time, one of the Bull's horns pierced Zayn's shoulder, causing the sound of breaking bones to ring through the pin-drop silence.
Meanwhile, Zayn was just gritting his teeth, his eyes staring fiercely at the Heavy Armored Bull as he twisted both Dragontale Twin Sabers the moment he had pierced through its brain.
"DIE!"
