Chapter 179: Self challenge- 8
Chapter 179: Self challenge- 8
Day 10 To Day 20
Day 10 dawned with a sense of anticipation tingling in the air.
As Bai Lung walked out from the long tunnels of the ant nest, he found himself standing on the precipice of a desolate landscape.
The sky above was a somber gray, casting a pall over the barren land below with a red hue giving that apocalyptic look.
Taking a moment to survey his surroundings, Bai Lung couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer ruin before him.
The ruins of what, once must have been a bustling city stretched out as far as the eye could see,
With a harsh step, Bai Lung set out into the heart of the ruined city, making sure to walk with cautions as monsters might be roaming everywhere.
Let’s be real, there must be over thousands of monsters in this area.
The ground beneath his feet was cracked and uneven, the remnants of buildings looming ominously overhead with maisma dark miasma gradually increasing. He moved with a silent grace with his senses on high alert for any signs of danger of sound.
As he ventured deeper into the heart of the city, Bai Lung encountered all manner of obstacle, be it, collapsed buildings, tall dark tress, blocking his path, forcing him to navigate through narrow alleyways and debris strewn streets.
He could even hear a loud noise coming from a nearby place but he decided not to go and check there.
As the hours passed, Bai Lung’s mind began to wander, pondering the mysteries of the ruined world around him.
What had happened to this civilization? Was something from outer space hit them? Climate change?
What forces had conspired to reduce it to rubble and dust?
Lost in what seem to be totally meaningless thought, Bai Lung explored abandoned buildings and crumbling structures, searching for clues that might shed light on the city’s tragic history.
Because he knew the test wasn’t as easy as he thought.
From the first round and second round, he analyzed that the first trial had 1 test, 2nd trial had 2 tests which meant 3rd trial must have 3 tests, the first one being; survive for 100 days.
As he continued…
He encountered strange phenomena along the way, from ghostly apparitions to inexplicable anomalies that defied explanation.
He encountered a those like figure with a human like upper body, a horse like head, and a tail, that could pass through physical matters.
The figure was floating in the sky and was passing through the trees like it didn’t even exist,
But through it all, he remained calm as such things didn’t excite him, such things were nothing but cheap tricks.
Bai Lung Quicky found a hiding place in of the fallen building, the room was dark, untouched by sunlight and had nothing compared to other rooms which was totally ‘rotten’
He stayed in that room for 2 to 3 days, after that, he continued to move ahead.
With his ability of Echo Manipulation, he quickly managed to find the path without being caught by ghostly monster and other weird creatures.
It seems surviving beings have evolved, if so, he wondered if humans still exist?
If so, he was looking for a female.
Bit by But, he searched the city within a week but he couldn’t find them,
Maybe they have already gone extinct, there is no food, no sunlight, Bai Lung thought.
This place didn’t have what it takes to survive, he was only surviving because he didn’t need food and water.
…
Day 21-25
The journey continued, with Bai Lung carefully navigating through some underground tunnels.
He encountered more monsters but each time using his Echo Manipulation to mislead and confuse them he managed to survive.
It seems most of them rely on ears rather than eyes, which was good news for Bai Lung.
His confidence in his ability grew, but he remained vigilant.
While exploring through the dungeon, he discovered a small corner with strange, glowing crystals.
Intrigued by the shine, he took a few with him, hoping they might prove useful later.
Day 26-30
Bai Lung reached a new place, where he encountered a new threat, he didn’t even know what he was seeing but that thing was fully made out of dark matter.
Just by a glance, Bai Lung knew couldn’t take that monster head-on with his current strength.
The sheer size of the creature was daunting, and, he knew it was better to escape hurriedly.
Day 31-35
At this point, he didn’t knew where he was going, he was searching for anything he could find.
The deeper he went, the more dangerous it became.
He was currently in an open forest with a black lake, which seemed to be polluted and infected by Maisma.
The forest had a large large bats, flying here and there, causing some trouble for him to move on.
Day 36-40
Bai Lung’s path led him to an ancient structure that appeared to be a temple of sorts, half-buried in rubble and overgrown with thick, dark vines.
He decided to make this temple his temporary shelter. Inside, he found remnants of a past civilization… They were broken statues, faded murals, and inscriptions that hinted at a rich history but he didn’t care much.
While exploring the inside of the temple even deeper, he discovered a hidden chamber.
The air inside was thick with the scent of decay, but at the center of the room lay an ancient artifact… It was an orb that seemed to pulse with a faint, otherworldly light.
Attracted to it, Bai Lung approached cautiously.
As he touched the orb, he felt a surge of energy coursing through him… And the next moment, he was pushed away by a powerful force, causing the temple to shake violently.
” Damn! What was that? ” Bai Let out, confused and shocked unable to fathom what just happened.
