Chapter 180: Self Challenge -9
Chapter 180: Self Challenge -9
Day 41-45
After trying multiple times he finally managed to get the orb out of its place.
The orb was absorbed by Bai Lung, granting him new ability of ‘Aura Vision’.
With his new ability, Bai Lung could see the faint auras of creatures from a distance, allowing him to avoid them more effectively compared to constantly using echo manipulation.
With that. He continued his journey,
His path lead him through twisted dsrn forests and over treacherous ravines.
Day 46-50
Bai Lung encountered another group of creatures, larger and more organized than before.
These creatures seemed to be some sort of dark, twisted version of humanity, their forms distorted and their minds consumed by madness constantly uttering some weird inhumane words.Using his abilities, Bai Lung managed to evade them, though the encounter left him shaken to the core seeing what the fucking heck was that.
A human like figure with four legs and four hands, Ughh! He felt disturbed.
That night, he rested in a small cave as its entrance was hidden by thick vines.
Inside, he discovered a pool of clear water,
Truth be told, it was a rare and precious find in this desolate land filled with dark miasma where everything was corrupted.
It’s unbelievable to think that such pure water exists.
Without much thought, he drank the water to see what would happen… But as he had anticipated, nothing happened aside from him, feeling cool and refreshed.
Day 51-55
Bai Lung continued his journey to the unknown path, in a lightless world.
He moved with a quiet grace, his every step was calculated to avoid detection.
Using his magical eyes, he could easily see the aura from far away and easily avoid every single encounter with the monster.
Safe to say, his new ability to see auras proved invaluable, allowing him to navigate the dangers with increasing confidence.
Despite the constant threat of monsters and the harshness of the environment.
Day 55 – 100
Nothing crazy happened, Bai Lung kept moving hoping to reach somewhere, to find something extraordinary but he was disappointed.
He had roamed for 100 days but he couldn’t think of anything he had done so, he believed he hadn’t passed the trail.
And his worry came to be true.
Day 101…
Bai Lung found himself still trapped in the desolate world despite completing the task of staying alive for 100 days.
” Ughh! ” Frustration gnawed at him.
“Damn it! I knew the test wasn’t that simple. There must be something more,” Bai Lung clenched his fists in anger.
Reflecting on his journey, he realized he hadn’t fought a single monster.
” hmm!!! Perhaps the trial requires me to hunt at least one of these weird creatures,” he mused.
However, fighting even a single monster was a daunting task.
These dark creatures were far stronger than him, and his current abilities and techniques seemed inadequate.
First of all, he doesn’t possess any cultivation base, his fighting technique inflicts no damage, and his ability is useless when it comes to fighting,
And on top of all that, to make matters significantly worse, their mere touch inflicted severe damage, making them formidable opponents.
During the day 55 – 100, he had been attacked by a horrifying nine-legged monster.
The encounter left him sick and in excruciating pain for ten days, just from a single touch.
The dark aura of these creatures burned his skin, causing agony that resonated through his entire being.
He was lucky that he somehow managed to escape.
Then again, Bai Lung believed he had to confront one of these monsters to pass the trail.
Thus!!!
He needed a weapon, but finding or creating one in this ruined world was nearly impossible. Conventional weapons like knives or spears wouldn’t harm these monsters; their bodies were composed of sticky black liquid instead of blood.
Even the question of whether they could truly die lingered in his mind. Bai Lung knew these ministers were unaffected by time and could survive without any food or anything.
So, he was being pretty reasonable by thinking ahead if such monsters could truly be killed with weapons.
As he pondered his next move, he suddenly recalled the dazzling shards he had found in the cave.
Though they had lost their shine, sitting in his pocket, he wondered if they could be the key to defeating the monsters.
With renewed determination, Bai Lung hurriedly pulled out the shards from his pocket with an evil smile.
The shards felt cold and lifeless, but he hoped they held some hidden power since they shone brightly.
He needed to test them against a monster, but the risk was immense. Nevertheless, it was his only lead.
Day 102
Bai Lung spent the day preparing for the confrontation.
Originally he believed he needed to craft a weapon using these shards but his ‘ Aura Vision ‘ ability which helped him see the aura of others could actually also help him control the shards with his mind.
These shards were like magic items, that gushed out with his mere thought.
They could fly, move at rapid speed, and destroy the ruined buildings that were already degenerating.
As night fell, he ventured into the forest, relying on his skill ‘Aura Vision’ to locate a suitable target.
( A/N: Bai Lung gave it the name Aura Vision, there may be more )
The dark miasma thickened, and the eerie silence of the night heightened his senses.
It was pitch silence, definitely, an indication that something bad was about to happen.
His heart pounded with anticipation and fear, nonetheless, he had no other option but to rely on these golden shards now.
After hours…,
he spotted a faint aura in the distance.
It was a smaller creature with a weak Aura, yet still dangerous for someone like Bai Lung, whose skin was very weak against the dark matter on their body.
Steeling himself, Bai Lung approached cautiously.
The creature appeared as a twisted, shadowy figure, its form constantly shifting with the flow of wind.
It somehow felt like a smile but mutated and sinister.
But his eyes widened when out of nowhere, multiple aura came to his vision.
It was an entire group of jiggly dark slime figures.
