You're My Only Star

Xia Yu chatted with Nurse Shen for a long time before she finally hung up the phone. She lay back on the headboard and thought about her conversation earlier.

The corner of her lips tilted up into a smile. Her heart warmed knowing that there were a lot of people in her former hospital who was worrying about her.

Although she was always lacking in familial love, Xia Yu realized that she had a lot of friends who actually cared about her. It was just that, previously, she had never noticed this.

The smile on her face gradually disappeared as a face came to her mind.

Xia Yu reached for the note that Huo Yun Chen had left for her and reread the words over and over again. She suddenly wondered what he was doing.

After scanning around the place, Xia Yu slowly get off the bed and reached for the crutches beside her. She stood up carefully and walked out of the room.

The living room was dark. It took her a while to adjust her eyes and finally, she found Huo Yun Chen lying on the sofa.

Xia Yu held her breath as she watched him. Seeing that the man did not make any movement, Xia Yu slowly walked over towards him to check on him.

His breathing was even and his face was still very handsome as he sleep.

Xia Yu spent a couple of minutes standing there just to watch his sleeping face. As she thought of the kiss on her forehead just now, her face began to turn red again.

As if he could sense her gaze, Huo Yun Chen began to stir in his sleep. He rubbed the corner of his eyes and finally noticed Xia Yu standing beside him.

Huo Yun Chen stood up quickly and helped her to sit down on the sofa. "You're awake but why didn't you call me?" The space between his brow furrowed. "Have you forgotten that you are still injured? What are you doing walking around?"

Xia Yu stared at the man helplessly as she was once again carried into the sofa.

She was beginning to wonder if Huo Yun Chen was addicted to carrying a person. She can still walk with the help of crutches. It wasn't as if she was completely paralyzed.

"When did you wake up?" Huo Yun Chen asked. "Do you want something to drink?"

Xia Yu watched as he turned around and poured her a glass of water. He walked over to her side and handed the glass to her. "Why are you sleeping on the sofa?" Xia Yu asked.

It was a two-bedroom suite. If Huo Yun Chen wanted to sleep, he could use the other room, right?

"I was worried that you might call me for something." He sat down beside her and stared at her face.

Instinctively, Xia Yu started to touch the corner of her mouth, wondering if perhaps she had drooled while she was sleeping.

"Are you feeling better?" Huo Yun Chen asked.

"Un." Xia Yu nodded. Feeling slightly shy with his gaze, Xia Yu quickly looked away and noticed that they were still alone in the room. "Lin You haven't returned?"

"She came back earlier to deliver your stuff. Then she left again to settle a few matters," Huo Yun Chen said.

"She's... quite busy."

Huo Yun Chen smiled. As his assistant, Lin You was naturally very busy. Moreover, there were a lot of things she had to do after he decided to come over to A City to see her. Of course, Huo Yun Chen wouldn't say this to Xia Yu.

"Little Star called a few hours ago to ask about you," Huo Yun Chen said. "I told her that you were asleep and she said she will call you back later. She saw the video that was circulating on the internet and was worried about you."

Xia Yu lowered her head and made a note to give Song Xing Xing a call later. A warm feeling surged in her heart, knowing that Song Xing Xing had always been concerned about her.

A few seconds later, Xia Yu began to notice that there was something wrong with Huo Yun Chen's words.

Since Song Xing Xing had called Huo Yun Chen to ask about her, then, doesn't that mean that she would know that she was with Huo Yun Chen? Moreover, this man had also told Song Xing Xing that she was sleeping.

Would her friend misunderstand her relationship with Huo Yun Chen?

Suddenly, Xia Yu became shy and did not know how she should be facing Song Xing Xing later.

"That's right, Little Star told me to remind you that a lawyer will come over to visit you after dinner," Huo Yun Chen said.

Xia Yu looked at Huo Yun Chen in puzzlement. "Did she tell you why?"

Huo Yun Chen pursed his lips as if contemplating something. "The lawyer wanted to discuss your mother. It seemed that after we left, your mother had continued to make a scene."

Xia Yu's expression changed. She was embarrassed to talk about her mother with this man. Her family was in a complete mess and she did not want him to be affected by it.

"It's alright." Huo Yun Chen placed his hand on hers. "I will be right here with you. You don't have anything to be afraid of."

Her eyes grew misty. Xia Yu bit her lips to suppress her feelings. "Huo Yun Chen, why are you so nice to me?"

The corner of his lips tilted into a soft smile. Huo Yun Chen stretched his hand and helped to push a few strands of hair behind her ears. "Didn't I tell you previously? I like you. Xia Yu, I'm not nice to just anyone."

Her heart skipped a beat. Xia Yu stared into his eyes and found that the man did not look away from her. Her heartbeat turned erratic and an indescribable feeling surrounded her.

This wasn't the first time she heard him say these words and both times, he managed to make her feel a little agitated. However, this feeling was not unpleasant.

Xia Yu opened her mouth as if to say something but she found that the words she wanted to say did not come out.

"Xia Yu, I'm not in a rush," Huo Yun Chen said. He saw the way Xia Yu was looked at him and could guess what was on her mind. "I can wait for you for as long as you need.. You don't need to rush to give me an answer until you are very sure of it."
